Temple of the Angel

Archive: 3 posts

Just a quick post to invite everyone to play my very first published level: Temple of the Angel. I spent quite a bit of time working on this with my two sons Kirk and Dominic helping their old Dad learn a few new things. Please enjoy it and feel free to pass along any tips or ideas so I can get even better for the next level I attempt. Have fun!

Very interesting concept, and the level has a very solid foundation. The idea deserves more love and effort than I'm sure it already has.

1 Needs to be more visually engaging. I think the level definitely needs more lighting.
2 I would suggest developing your own characters and enemies. Sackboy cutouts and talking stickers don't have nearly the same amount of charisma as original characters.
3 I'm pretty sure getting the aced level prize is impossible, since you are forced to die in a couple spots.
4 Try focusing on giving away prizes that you have made. I assume all of those prizes were obtained on other levels.
5 If you're going to give away prizes that other people have made, try to have them fit in with the level theme. At least then you can incorporate the items in the level somehow, and the prizes will make more sense.
6 The last part of the three temples is a bit redundant. I would suggest either cutting it down to two temples, or putting a checkpoint between each temple.

Thanks for the feedback - I appreciate all of the pointers. I'm still in the learning stage on how to create my own objects and will definately take all of your advice. Hopefully I'll b putting out another level shortly. Have a great night!2010-02-01 02:08:00
