NOOOOO!!! *falls down on knee's* My ps3 controller died.. (Guess how)
Archive: 27 posts
So, I woke up, Booted up my ps3 to see if I got any mails/replies. Nothing. Made myself a decent breakfast (Yoghurt drink). Went to take a long shower as I forgot to take one yesterday. *sniff sniff* hmm i smell all rose-ey! Came back down to the living room and I almost picked up my ps3 controller. (warning icky jucky stuff) The cat.. litterally puked all over my/inside my controller that was on the couch.. I am still cleaning stuff up.. but I just had to post this.. I picked up the controller (with a piece of paper).. and the goo just oozed out of it. I have never seen a controller die in such a horrible unhumane way. to make things worse, my 2nd ps3 controller needs to recharge.. So when I am done doing puke-control and notify the right authorities that chemical warfare has began on ps3 controllers.. I will be quite bored for the next three hours. Amuse me! | 2010-01-28 14:28:00 Author: Luos_83 Posts: 2136 |
You can use your controller while its charging!! Fascinating story, btw!! Those darn cats, they mess up a lot of stuff but darn...we love those little buggers. | 2010-01-28 14:36:00 Author: Zwollie Posts: 2173 |
All the cables for my controllers are less than a meter in length.. My tv is 42inch.. if you sit that close a sackboy looks like a blurry pile of wool. | 2010-01-28 14:44:00 Author: Luos_83 Posts: 2136 |
Oh yeah, forgot not everyone has those 4 meter USB-cables. | 2010-01-28 14:48:00 Author: Zwollie Posts: 2173 |

If you set your laptop or have a desktop nearby (within 1 meter of seating area), you can charge it on your PC and play some PS3 while it's charging. Cheers! | 2010-01-28 16:59:00 Author: guitarplayer16 Posts: 56 |

It's been about 3 hours now... did you get it cleaned and does it work??? I had a PS3 controller die on me. It started giving me problems when one of the buttons wouldn't work, then all the sudden one day the whole thing didn't work. I've had multiple systems over the years and I take really good care of all my stuff, so for something to just die was really weird, and costly! Although, the only difference between now and when I had the older consoles is that I'm married, and my wife can sometimes be uncoordinated.... sooo.... hmm.... it seems that a new theory has spawned just now... | 2010-01-28 18:03:00 Author: Powershifter Posts: 668 |

@ KernelM - omg funny @ guitarplayer16 - you are indeed clever - excellent suggestion. | 2010-01-28 19:01:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Would it work if you rinsed the controller out with water and then let it dry out thoroughly. As long as you don't turn it on until you're 200% sure it'd dry i'd imagine it'd work fine. Well unless it has some ongoing electrical process anyway. | 2010-01-28 19:06:00 Author: Dexiro Posts: 2100 |
what i would do to a wet controller, even if its throwup, is set it in a ziploc baggie with rice in it. what that would do is the rice would end up soaking up the water and eventually it would get all the moisture and stuff out of it. this process works well trust me because my little brother who was dumb enough to have a psp in one hand while turning on the bath dropped it completely in a tub full of water. we did the bag of rice thing and the psp has had no problems at all. fyi, make sure DO NOT TURN THE CONTROLLER on unless u are completley sure that its dry, otherwise the water could conduct with whatever was in it. lol, your cat picked the exact place where ur controller was to barf. hope it gets fixed, otherwise lbp will never b the same! | 2010-01-28 20:39:00 Author: damaz10 Posts: 771 |

I dont have a laptop and the pc is on the other side of the room (with poor view to the tv) but it is a good solution thanks! Yes.. it works again! I cleaned it with an old toothbrush and some water, after that used some anti-viral-uber-cleaning-dissinfectant stuff on a small piece of paper, after that the little controller sat warm and cozy on the heater-elements in the living room. lol @ kernel btw, though there are times when there are four cats on my chest/legs/under legs/against legs when I am gaming.. Next time, ill barf over the cat! | 2010-01-29 14:54:00 Author: Luos_83 Posts: 2136 |
my little brother who was dumb enough to have a psp in one hand while turning on the bath dropped it completely in a tub full of water. I know someone who dropped their PSP down the bog. Works fine now though | 2010-01-29 22:02:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |

haha, that is a horrible way for the PS3 controller to die. Happily, I've never had that happen to my controler so I don't really know what you should do except clean it. | 2010-01-30 03:28:00 Author: Ainsl3y_xo Posts: 478 |
Don't make an Off topic topic because it gets quite spammy and cc or cmc or msc or k or whle or ssickie | 2010-01-30 08:50:00 Author: Kern Posts: 5078 |
