LBP: The League - Shropshirelass wins!

The League is over! Shropshirelass wins!

http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=12260

A brand new competition from Mr. Radical and RockSauron.

In the vain of the Survivor competitions I've run, this will be a multi-week competition. Every few days, a new challenge will be available for players to take on. Players will usually have a week to take them on, and at the end of the play period, the top performing players will earn points. 1st will earn 10, 2nd will earn 8, 3rd will earn 6, 4th will earn 4, 5th 3, 6th 2, 7th 1.

At the end of the play season, the player with the most points will be the big winner. We hope to have XP prizes for the top 5 finishers if the xp system ever comes back. For the 1st place winner, we will also be offering a download code for PSN content from the US Amazon store. If we get at least 16 registered players to play at least 3 challenges each, the value of this DLC will be $5.99 or less. If we get fewer players, the value will be $1.99 or less.

How to play:
If you want to play, all you have to do is leave a post in this thread telling us that you want to play. You can play as few or as many challenges as you'd like. Of course, the more you play, the more points you'll be able to earn. You may start at any point until the competition ends. Since each challenge will have a limited play period, all challenges won't be available to late comers...

Each challenge will be announced in this thread on the first post. The challenge posts will have all rules, details, and methods of submitting your score.

Finally, I need everyone playing to add me as a friend here on the forum and on the PSN. This will help me keep track of everyone and let me see your scores much easier.

About the Challenges
The challenges will be a mix of courses the staff will make and existing levels in the LBP community. Some will look for a high score, while others will look for the first to complete the level. Other variations may exist as well. There may also be a create challenge or two along the way.

Achievements and Challenges
There will also be two extra ways to earn points - duels and achievements.

Achievements
Accomplishing different things throughout the game will earn a player achievements. Having perfect challenge attendance, winning multiple challenges in a row, never losing a duel... just a few examples of some achievements. Some will have point values that will add to your season point total, others will be purely decorative. A complete list will be available before the start of the competition.

Duels
Players finishing in the top 3 in each game will have a shot at challenging someone to a duel. One person from the top 3 will be randomly receive the right to challenge someone. For the duels, the challenging player will pick any other player and wager points. The challenging player may not pick the person most recently challenged. Each player will privately wager up to the total amount of points the player with the lower score has. The amount of points each player will ultimately offer will be the average of the two wagers. Decimals will always be rounded up. If a player has fewer than 4 points and the wager is higher than what the lesser total is, the amount will be the lesser total. Winner gets all wagered points.

The first competition begins on February 10, and players can join at any time.

If you'd like to play, leave a post here to let us know.

Registered Players:
1st - Shropshirelass - 101 Points
2nd - Lt. Fatman - 97 Points
3rd - RockSauron - 28 Points
4th - FULLGORR - 22 Points

Challenge 1: Clock Climb Challenge - Challenge Over!

The first challenge will be to get a high score in BurnVictim42's level "Clock Climb Challenge"

This was a level made during a challenge during the first season of Survivor. It's pretty much all about timing and is on the shorter side. A perfect entry level challenge.

You can play this as many time as you want between now and Friday @ 11:59PM Eastern. When the play period is over, I'm going to check out my friends scores on the level and see who is ranked where. Please take a screenshot of your high score just in case the system gets funny...

Achievement - Any player who can beat my score on this level will receive an additional 2 points.

Only 4 players posted a score in this one. Lt. Fatman came in first and earned 10 points. RockSauron came in second and earned 8. Emogotsaone came in third and earned 6. FULLGORR came in fourth and earned 4. Lt. Fatman and RockSauron both beat my score and each earned an additional 2 points.

Challenge 2: 3D SURVIVAL RACE

The second challenge is another high score challenge. Each of you will have to try and get the highest score in hall8653's 3D SURVIVAL RACE. The deadline for this one will be a lot shorter than the last - you have until Saturday @ 11:59PM Eastern to play this as many times as you want.
1st - neku256
2nd - shropshirelass
3rd - RockSauron
4th - Lt. Fatman
Achievement - Any player who can get their score over 200,000 will receive an additional 3 points.
All four players who took on this level scored over 200K.

Challenge 3 - Race of the Future by Nathan900

Purple! Orange! Savannah theme! Here's a level with a really fun visual style and some RADICAL racing action. High score is the name of the game again. Each of you will have until Tuesday night @ 11:59 PM Eastern to play this as much as you need to. High scores will be taken then.

Achievement - Any player can choose to have their score taken at 11:59PM on Sunday night. If you do, the round ends for you and your score on Sunday will be compared to everyone's on Tuesday. Also, if you do this, you get yourself 2 points.

1st - Shropshirelass, 2nd - Lt. Fatman, 3rd - FULLGORR, 4th - Outlaw-Jack, 5th - RockSauron

Only Shripshirelass chose to get their score taken on Sunday night to earn an extra two points.

Challenge 4 - Pipeline puzzle. by Cold0cean00

Finally a puzzler and your first official "timed event". This is a neat level that has you rearranging the layout of the level to get 4 keys. Get the keys, get to the finish line, get your score. The way we're doing this one is by racing to be the first ones to get through the level. The first to get me a picture of their sackperson at the finish board gets 1st place. Second 2nd and so on... Official end to this one is Wednesday @ 11:59PM Eastern, but I imagine that this one will end much, much sooner.

Achievement - Since the actual challenge will end rather quickly, here's a chance to see how well everyone retains what they've learned. At the end of the play period on Wednesday @ 11:59PM, any players ranked in the top 50 overall scores on the level will earn 2 additional points.

1st - Lt. Fatman
2nd - Shropshirelass
3rd - RockSauron
4th - FULLGORR

Shropshirelass and FULLGORR were in the top 50 at the end of the challenge - Rock was at 52... looks like he got pushed out at the last minute...

Challenge 5 - FLOATING JUMPS OF DOOM?! OMG NOW MORE POINTS GO BEAT DA KINGS!
Hell of a title, right? I warned you all about this one being posted because this is the second timed challenge. Once again, you'll be racing to send in a pic showing you at the end of the level. Since any death will bring you to the end of level scoreboard, I want to see a pic of you just to the left of the rotating light wheel to the left of the scoreboard. I need to see a bit of the scoreboard in the pic as well. The faster you send in the pic, the better your placing. Good luck. This one will end on Thursday @ 11:59PM Eastern.

Achievement - Bring any piece of floaty material to the scoreboard with you and send me a pic of that to earn an extra 3 points!
1st - Shropshirelass
2nd - Lt. Fatman

No one made the 3 extra points this round...

Challenge 6 - Time and Time Again by MrRadical

It's pink! It's purple! If you rush, you'll never even see that! This will be the last challenge posted until Sunday, so do what you can to get the highest 1 player score possible. Highest 1 player score @ 11:59PM Eastern on Sunday will win. Not saying much about this one since anything else would give too much away...

Achievement - Make it to the end with 3 or 4 players to earn an extra 2 points. Send me a pic of your group at the scoreboard to prove it.

1st - Shropshirelass
2nd - Lt. Fatman
3rd - FULLGORR

Only Shropshirelass earned the achievement on this one.

Challenge 7 - The Hardest Level Ever by catsbear
While it's not really the hardest ever, there's a decent bit of challenge with a good variety of obstacles... All with one life. You score even if you don't make it to the end, so play and be guaranteed a top 3 finish! Ha! (top 3 finish not guaranteed if more than 3 people play). We're looking for the highest score on Sunday night by 11:59PM Eastern.

Achievement - Send in a pic of you and another player in front of the number 9 for an additional 3 points. Good luck.

1st Lt. Fatman
1st Shropshirelass
No achievements earned on this one...

Challenge 8 - Glass Jumping Challenge by h0tNstilettos
We're going to ramp up the difficulty yet again... Here's another one life challenge that will test your abilities to deal with glass platforms. This is some evil stuff. We're looking for the high scores on Tuesday @ 11:59PM Eastern.

Achievement - Two different ways to earn the achievement on this one. Either beat my score on this level, or send me a picture of you in section ten. Accomplishing either of these two feats will earn this round's extra 4 points.

Three posted scores! Accident? Awesome? Who knows...
1st - Shropshirelass
2nd - Lt. Fatman
3rd - Neku256

No achievements on this one...

Challenge 9 - Fire Pits by The Great Magician

Going with an in-game level for this one. A simple platforming level where chaining points can boost your score big time.
High score on March 6 @ 11:59PM Eastern wins.

Achievement - Get your score in the top 5000 to earn an extra 3 points.

Ha. Fire pits FTW!
1st - Lt. Fatman @ 28,986
2nd - Shropshirelass @ 28410

Both players got their scores in the top 5000 for an extra 3 points.

Final challenge - Rage Against the Machine 2.0 by mrRadical
This was originally one of the first levels I ever made. I didn't like how a things constantly broke, so I remade it while keeping as much of the original intent alive as possible. High score on this one on Wednesday night @ 11:59 PM Eastern wins.

Achievement - Beat the "boss" without losing a single life. You'll need to send me a pic of the boss room that shows the checkpoint fully lit and all eight lights on the boss off. Do this for an extra 3 points.

1st Place - Shropshirelass
2nd Place - Lt. Fatman

Shropshirelass defeated the boss without losing a single life to earn an extra 3 points.

Duels!!!!
Rocksauron challenged Lt. Fatman - each has wagered 5 points. Lt. Fatman won the duel and 5 points from RockSauron.
shropshirelass was randomly selected out of the top 3 finishers in challenges 2 and 3 to earn the right to challenge someone to a duel!
Lt. Fatman was randomly selected for challenge # 4.

A full list of achievements, player scores, and challenge info is available @ christinaspartyrentals.net/theleague

Awesome! Great concept, it will be much easier for people who aren't as active to participate. I'm so ready to do this!

Everyone who is an active and fun player should definitely partake in this! Mr. Radical is really on top of things and handles these competitions very well. It's great fun.

Count me in!

Hi

This sounds like a great idea. Hopefully as it gets going more people will see how it works and want to join in. Good luck with it!

Btw, does a player who is challenged to a duel have to accept the challenge or can they decline it?

If you're challenged to a duel, you're obligated to play in it. That's why we're only letting 3 people per round earn the right to challenge.... don't want things to get too out of hand.2010-01-28 19:32:00

@ doubletime - this will be 99% individual. Might be some co-op elements in a challenge or two, but beyond that, achievement is purely individual. also, no one ever gets voted out or eliminated. Players can play when they want, stop when they want, start again if they feel like it. The winners are determined by points and points alone.

@ alex - I'm pretty sure you're right about the Cross-continent code problem. If anyone can think of a work around, I'd be willing to hear it. If nothing comes up... then I guess it's just XP and bragging rights for a potential European winner.

I don't understand why people seem to be in it for the loot. I would be perfectly fine giving away the prize to the runner up once i win. ALl i could care less about is the glory and honour of being victorius. It is a real shame that you have to give away something. As long ast the person in charge isn't soem kind of noob it is ok for me!

And btw update the survivor site pls

If you want a big competition, you need a healthy balance of three things:

Easy to participate.
A reasonable chance of winning.
A good prize.

Miss one of these things out, and you will miss out on a lot of potential competitors, that's just the way it is doubletime. But of course it's true, bragging rights helps sometimes as well, no doubt!

I've decided that as long as we get 16 registered players who play at least 3 challenges each, I'll offer up a piece of DLC from the US amazon store valued $5.99 or less.2010-02-02 01:54:00

Hm... would I still be able to participate? I'm not too sure if I'm organizing or not- I'd love to play... Oh yeah, I'm supposed to watch over challenges when this is closer? Hm... bit of a shame, really :/. ;-; So can I or can I not participate? If you'd prefer me to assist you, I can still do that.2010-02-03 00:57:00

This sounds interesting but i dont have time to participate. I just want to tell you about the code.

PSN store content is not region locked just like all other playstation3 games. But DLC will only work on specific territories games (E.G a PAL region game cant download DLC from the North American store.

So as long as you have an american account active on the PS3 system you will be able to use the code on that account.

And remember as long as the account is active on the system all users on that system are able to use the software.

Hey Mister Rad- Little unclear on the duels... so if I finished 4th in a particular challenge (out of say the only 4 people who compete in a given challenge) conceivably first, second, and third, could all duel me thus eliminating me from point contention?

Or suppose one of the 12 competitors just cant balance and a challenge calls for it... finishers 1,2, and 3 could all duels the same sap? separating them from the pack?

As I understand it-- the challengee is obliged to wager pts? he cant wager zero right? Your taking the average between challengers wager and challengees' wager?

I wonder one thing Mr Radicall. I have an idea for a " Golden Idol treasure hunt competition " inspired by the idol search in survivor.

There will be 10 Golden Idols. They will be released one at a time. And for every day that passes without the current idol being found a new clue will be givven to everyone. After all 10 Idols have been found the person who got the most idols, and the runner up will receive xp on this site and the bragging rights !

I am sure i would be able to do run this. Or atleast hide the golden idols. For exampel i could make the clues. BUt if i got a ps3 again. Would you be my sponsor ?

good point gravel... doesn't seem fair to let the top 3 all take out one person... rules have been altered to limit each person to one challenge per round.

either way... there hasn't been too much action from people wanting to join this... it was like pulling teeth just scraping together 16 players for survivor, and as it is, a lot of the group is made up of old survivor players...

i'm officially delaying the start of this until we get some more players...

@doubletime, what do you mean sponsor your game?

before the xp went hidden with the upgrade, i think I had like 487 xp left after buying the offer xp for survivor 2. if this game happens and xp comes back, i'll probably end up spending the rest on the new offer xp...

idea: think about your game. get everything in order for it. start a thread for your game and see how much interest you can get from the ever competitive members of LBPC. if people start showing up, post a message saying that you're still looking for a way to offer an xp prize. see if someone with big time xp can donate.

No. Unless you have an American copy, which I don't think you do.

DLC for whatever reason is region locked, so you need a disc from said region to sue DLc from there.

If it's allowed I will throw my hat in the ring for this. It's not really my kind of thing but you guys deserve a bit of support and at least then it won't be a 2 man race this round.

I've recorded a score on the latest challenge (3D Survival). I just scraped over 200k but haven't beaten Rocksauron's score. The worst thing is 10 minutes after that my 10 year old came in and beat me into 6th place on the scoreboard, lol! I feel old...

If I'm too late to join, no problem - I had great fun playing the level anyway!

EDIT: Just beaten Rocksauron's score by the tiniest of margins. I'm sure it won't stay that way but at least my son's gone to bed so no more competition from that source!

EDIT 2: Wow, I've just seen Neku256's score for this - 233,103 - awesome! No idea how you did that! I can't see that getting beaten.

beat fatmans score on the clock challenge? check the fine print... each has a time limit. i checked the scores @ midnight yesterday and those are the ones that will stick...

No, i mean beat his score on 3D one. I was like 500 more then his when I last played... but seems like shropshirelass beat me then <_>. Ah well, more competition ;o

no problem joining late. that was sort of the point of this - anyone can join whenever. only requirement is to add me as a friend on the PSN so I can keep track of everyone's scores easier.

good job beating fatman and rock - two of the best Survivor players....

forget what I said about neku... we'll take any scores we can get. if it becomes an issue trying to find a score... then we'll see...

as for the duels - the drawing for the first two will be held after the second round ends.

finally - new challenge about to be posted.

Well, in a move which is probably tactical suicide, this post is to ask mr Radical to take my score in Race of the Future as at midnight tonight. To be honest, I think I've probably got as far as I'm going to. At the moment my score stands at 65,656.

Best of luck to everyone - I'm sure you'll overhaul me well before Tuesday - I have a such lousy technique going over those stacks of blocks near the end, heigh ho!

In a second fit of tactical idiocy I'm also passing up on the opportunity to challenge anyone to a duel!

LOL! I'd better not laugh too much, though, as I could be in your shoes at some point and I've looked at the Survivor website to remind me what some of the challenges were - gulp! Good luck with that (and to RockSauron too although that is a bit of a contradiction!).

BTW, mr Radical, really nice website for the League - love the little achievement icons!

@ shropshirelass - score registered. extra two points for you. and that score is pretty good - it'll probably stand. also, even though you declined to challenge someone to a duel, you still have the right to should you change your mind.

@ outlaw jack - the competition is open to everyone who has registered. all you need to do is play the levels posted in the first post / the website with the time limits. if you post a score that I can find, you'll get points so long as you're in the top 7 scores. there are various other things you can do to earn points in each round and the overall game as well. this duel between Rock and Fatman is just an extra part of the game. One person is randomly picked out of the top 3 finishers of each round and that person can challenge someone else to a duel.

It's never too late to start up with playing the challenges as a top 3 finish and a big duel win can put anyone near the top instantly. Just remember to add me on the PSN so I can track your scores easier.

@ the website compliments - thanks a lot. tell your friends!

@ Rock and Fatman - Rock chose to wager 5 points, Fatman chose to wager 4. 9/2= 4.5 rounded up to each player wagering five points.
The challenge randomly chosen is season 1's 4th challenge - the block stacking competition. Each of you will have 3 minutes to stack polystyrene bricks as high as they can go. Scores will be determined by the height behind your stack when time is over. Your stacks cannot touch the left or right wall. Stacks must be able to stand on their own for 5 seconds after the time ends. The winner is the person who gets to the highest section. If there's a tie, the person who got to that section with their final tower first will win. You'll each need to join me in my pod to play this duel challenge. Results will be revealed... once we have results. Also, wow @ the winner getting a huge point lead and the loser getting put just one point ahead of neku and shropshirelass.

Hhmm - cryptic! Well from the sound of it I don't think I did too well in the race to finish the puzzle first but I have now got to number 4 on the scoreboard for the level so hopefully I'll get two points there, lol.

Also I see that LtFatman has already got within 100 points of my total on the Race of the Future - eek! *prays for power cut to hit London until late on Tuesday night!*

3rd - FULLGORR
4th - Outlaw Jack

Phew, I?m really pleased to have won one of these challenges! Last night I was so regretting having locked my score. I kept going back to check on the level and I could see a constant 2-4 sacks playing it ? nerve-racking stuff, especially with Lt Fatman running me so close.

Any news of the duel?

Good work with the score, I couldn't see myself beating it as close as I got.
Hey, I just noticed you live in Surrey... so do I! I don't plan to for much longer mind you, still, what are the odds?

I haven't taken part in the duel yet, but I'm sure I will soon, just need to be on at the same time as Mr Radical.

also, news - after the random drawing after challenge 3, shropshirelass has earned a second duel challenge.

also also... oops @ the front page of the website - the quick rankings list Fatman and shropshirelass as both being in first... i'll fix that soon...

To borrow a couple of expressions of frustration/horror from earlier posts: “Argh!” and “GAH!”

I am officially a n00b and an idiot. From 8.00 pm I was busily spamming the “What’s new” button and checking my subscribed threads but with no results. About an hour later I think well perhaps I better just check the thread to see if I’ve somehow missed a new post and my eye catches the edit to the first post! Real heart sink moment there...

Oh, and in my current frame of mind, I am happy to say that I will eat a piece of pink floaty if someone manages to get one to the scoreboard, lol...!

EDIT: Sorry about the rant. Feeling sheepish about it this morning and I can see it looks like I'm making excuses - so sorry. I was just so disgusted with myself.

I wasn't going to even attempt bringing some pink floaty with me but now you've said that... hehe, just kidding.
I wouldn't worry too much, you have two duels you can use at any time (I think?), so with some strategic thought, you could easily turn things upside down with a bit of luck.

@ shropshirelass - I'll try to leave a new post every time I update from now on. Sorry about any stress that might have caused.

re: the achievement - it's possible. On the second time I made it to the scoreboard, there was a piece that I could still grab. I'm pretty sure I know what it takes to do that...

update for this one is up. expect a new challenge tomorrrow.

also, not sure what's up with this, but i've yet to see Rock or Lt. Fatman on while I am...

No problem, mr Radical the fault was all mine - that's why I was annoyed with myself. It was obvious what you were going to do if only I had thought about it properly!

BTW I did get in the top 50 for the puzzle challenge. In fact last time I looked I was 4th on the scoreboard. I think I can take a photo of my popit using another controller but maybe if you re-load the game it will show my score. The score stats can be a bit glitchy I know.

EDIT: Photo sent. Let me know if there's a problem.

EDIT 2: As to the timing of my score in the pipeline puzzle, you can check post no. 73 in this thread.

Sorry I didn't make it clear. What I meant was that the top 50 placement had to be done by midnight last night and, as (due to the bugs with the score statistics) you weren't able to see my score when you checked last night, I thought you might want some comfort that I had done it before the deadline of midnight. I know the other photo, the one for completion of the level, had to be sent in asap on Monday.2010-02-18 21:21:00

Oh well, time to check this next challenge out.

Thanks for posting the new challenge Mr Radical. Like Lt Fatman I've already had a go. You really had me going in the first few minutes of the level, especially as I haven't played any of your levels before, lol! I won't say any more but great fun! Tricky, though, especially the race at the end - which I'm sure is the whole idea!

Hopefully, with all weekend to do the challenge there will be a few more contestants taking part in this one.

EDIT: Sorry about the achievement for challenge 5. I did try and I can see that it's theoretically possible (I assume you have to jump over the last platform so that it doesn't sink down) but I just didn't have the skills to pull it off! Like Lt Fatman I thought if anybody could do it, it would be Fullgorr.

Time and Time Again Results:

1st - Shropshirelass
2nd - Lt. Fatman
3rd - FULLGORR

Only shropshirelass earned this achievement. Also, with her second first place win in a row, she earns the streak achievement and an extra 2 points.

And shropshirelass officially moves into 1st place overall. She also has been picked yet again to receive the right to challenge someone to a duel.

all old stuff would be locked out for you. you can still try for the season wide achievements. off the top of my head, you can get one if you place first in the next challenge, another if you get two firsts in a row.

it's actually still possible for you to win if you place high from here on out and get some good duel action.

you can still compete. anyone can come and go or join up at any point.

also, from the lack of responses I got, i'm seeing that the last challenge didn't exactly work out... don't feel bad if you didn't see anything after time and time again. I was seeing how a super secret challenge would work. I put info out there about what the next challenge was, put some obvious clues up, but made it.... really hard to find.... Sort of like a challenge to find the challenge. Can't say more because I plan on doing a toned down version of this for the next project I'm working on...

New regular format challenge tomorrow afternoon. Sorry for being... a bit crazy with this last one...

Well, to be fair, I don't think we could expect mr Radical to PM us about every new challenge. He posts in this thread when a new one is up or is imminent and we just need to keep checking the first post for details. mr Radical puts a great deal of effort and hard work into staging the contest and I think it runs very smoothly. Last night I could see friend scores but the score stats have been glitchy for a while now, i.e. sometimes a score recorded one day doesn't show up next day at all. This can sometimes be fixed by re-loading LBP but not always. There's some discussion of this in this thread (post 67 onwards) https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=22080-Virtual-Reality-Survival-Challenge-2-(Spotlighted!)/page5

Anyway, my score for the Hardest Level Ever was the same as yours - 1,710 from memory. Hopefully you will be able to see them next time you're on!

Sorry, I didn't quite catch that. What did you say your score is for the Fire Pits? 2010-03-05 21:41:00

You really want to know? I didn't think I could beat my original 16k at first but I did! I didn't think I'd beat Mr Radicals score on there but I did that as well. I can give you a more precise number if you want this particular round even more competitive, heh heh.

This level requires a really perfect flow, especially for the first minute to get a big chain. Needed quite a few tries to get it right.

Lol! I was only joking - I didn't think you'd want to tell me! But as you've been such a gent and given me a hint, I'll respond in kind and say that I too have managed to beat mr Radical's score but only by a small margin. Now I know that you've beaten 26,000+ too, I'm going to have to try and improve my score.

I know what you mean about that first section. My problem is that if I get a good chain going there, I inevitably mess up the two tiny platforms on the top. If I've already broken the chain, I sail over them . I just need to get both to come together. Oh well I can see that while the rest of the family is watching Total Wipeout, I shall be in the other room playing the Fire Pits and shouting "Nooooo!" at the TV again!

I saw Mr Rad's score as being about 22k, maybe it's a glitch, but I did indeed exceed 26k and was mighty surpirsed about it.

And I know what you mean about messing up once a great chain gets going. Easily done!

Rock is pretty much done with the league, but I managed to get him into the duel level. He managed to also reach level 2, but took most of the entire time to get there. If I remember correctly, a tie in terms of stack height would go to speed. Lt. Fatman finished much faster. Both could only get to level 2. Scores for glass jumping will be posted with the Fire Pits scores. Final challenge posted later tonight.2010-03-06 20:51:00

Final challenge is up. Since you two are only separated by 1 point, if no one decides to duel, the results of this one will determine the final winner.

If either of you do decide that dueling is the way to go... I'll need to know before the challenge period ends. Also, let's keep this at one duel a piece if dueling is the way that you want to go...

Wow - so close on the Fire Pits result - well done Lt Fatman - and really close overall. Well I'm off to check out the new challenge level, knowing full well that if mr Radical made it, it's not going to be an easy ride, lol! 2010-03-08 18:30:00

After losing her lead in the last few challenges.... Shropshirelass takes first and the achievement in Rage Against to defeat Lt. Fatman! Shropshire lass is the LBP: The League Champion!

Thanks to the two of you for sticking it out. Even with small numbers, it means a lot to have any sort of support. And thanks to everyone else who stopped by for a challenge or two.

See you all in Survivor 3!

Thank you both! I had a blast joining in the League. It really was a lot of fun. I'm just sorry more people didn't take part. Anyway, thank you to Lt Fatman for being such a great competitor - it was a pleasure fighting it out with you (though I have a sneaking suspicion that you may have let me win the last challenge...). A special thanks too to mr Radical and his "unstoppable" efforts in putting on these competitions.

Good luck to you both in Survivor 3, As I said to mr Radical, I shall certainly be following proceedings closely and pop into the thread now and then!

I think the only way I could have caught up was to work out how to get that large collection of score bubbles near the end. And I had no idea, for all I know they are a red herring. Knowing Mr Radical I bet all I had to do was drop down through the gap in the draw bridge and all the firey obstacles would dissapear. Am I close? Hehe, I hope not.2010-03-11 19:26:00

Lol! When I saw your earlier post I began to wonder if you'd missed those. If you want to know...

You needed to grab the green ball on the string after the race gates (I spotted that it had a switch thingie in the centre). Then instead of swinging to the right, you needed to let go and drop back down through the race gate and into to the room with the green and blue blocks where you would have found that the panel leading to the next room with the bubbles was now open. They would definitely have added a huge number of points to your total (15k plus depending on the multiplier). You should have another go!

Drop down into the pit... That would have been funny.

This was back before my thinking got entirely.... evil? I put in two clues to show how to access those points -
1 was the fact that the wall between the blue/green block puzzle and those points was clearly dissolve material. 2 was the visible switch on the grab ball like Shropshirelass said.

Lol, Boo! It's not awesomeness - it's pigheadedness! If you play a level often enough you're bound to get a decent score in the end!

Anyway, thanks everyone for the kind words! I won't dare play with anyone online ever again as they will be expecting too much....
