Please make it easier to create pistons etc.

Archive: 15 posts

Please make the "L"-stick increment tens and the "R"-stick .1s for lengths etc.!
This would make it much less time consuming to build elevators and kind...

PS: I used the "advanced search"-feature but didn't find a suggestion about this.
So please don't be angry if this was already suggested ;-)

Personally, I think the current system is fine. :arg:2010-01-27 22:14:00

Ever tried to build an elevator with 300 units in height?
This is really annoying. You may keep your thumb on the stick and drink a cup of coffee until it's done!

Yes... You create the first block quite high and just connect the two blocks?2010-01-28 19:53:00

I think a scheme where the increment increases the longer the button/stick is held would be nice (like how setting the time works on many digital clocks).2010-01-28 20:07:00

I would like to simply type in a number at times. 2010-01-28 20:10:00

Then i would have the max. length ready, but the min. length would be around 300 units too...

Yes, that would be perfect!

I usually do...and I think the increment is a constant; if it does increase it still takes forever to change a length by a large amount, ex. 200.

Ah yes, even better idea!

Even with the D-Pad it's very slow. You can waste minutes making pistons hundreds or thousands of units long.2010-01-29 01:54:00

Anyone remember when it went up in increments of .5? Man... those were the days.2010-01-29 02:03:00

"Back in my day...." lol.

Seriously though, at the OP's suggestion of 10s and 0.1s, that would make it very tedious to do all my 5 unit length pistons and winches, and I need a lot of them, whereas the occasional 300 length piston ain't no thing. I'd much rather do that as a one off than take ages over loads of smaller pistons.

What we need really is the increments of 0.5 back (I'd actually forgotten about that haha), for grid alignment, but as you hold down the pad for longer, you get incrememnts of 1s, 5s, 10s, etc. That way everyone would be happy. Or probably not, but some people might be happier. I know I would be

I agree with what jwwphotos said about just typing the number in, I remember suggesting this to my bro and didn't even think to put it in my own thread.2010-01-29 08:19:00
