This Genie can seriously read your mind...

Have any of you guys played this mini game (http://us.akinator.com/#)?

I'm usually late when it comes to things like this, but I just thought it was so funny I had to share it. Basically, what you do is you think of a character and it can be any character really, and the genie can guess it.

It got me every. single. time.

You have to use people no one or few people remember and not the obvious ones like the third guy from Apollo 13.

First I did Kirby: it worked

The Sonic: it worked (I knew he'd got me with 'Is your character supernaturally fast?)

The Shaymin (first Pokemon that came into my head, I didn't think he'd get it with 493 Pokemon): He got Bulbasaur, so I win!

I carried on, I got:

Eevee
Ninetales (I'm getting the same questions over and over again now).
And he said I beat him.

Also, I now know it basically runs on user submissions to add to a 'database' (I think).

He took a while, but darn, he got Robert Langdon (From Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons.)

And for God's sakes, he got KANE (C&C)!

But he didn't get the President from Red Alert 2, so I have defeated him

EDIT: Good God. It got Defender from Champions Online. I officially surrender.

Well, I went for Gir. On the first guess, it got it wrong, but it got it on the second go. Neat.

Now, this is a bit weird. I went for Drizzt Do'Urden (if you don't know who he is, I don't know you) and it got it on the first go. And most the questions had "no" answers... I did get it on Jack from 'The Shining,' however. Go me.		2010-01-27 22:14:00

EDIT: okay, it may suck at composers, but I was just completely blown away. I tried Ofelia from Pan's Labyrinth on him, and it got her after its second set of questions. I thought that was pretty impressive.

But then, I tried Rand al' Thor from the book series "Wheel of Time". He's the main character, but still not very well known or easily distinguished from more common mythical or magical humans. Anyways, it got him on it's second round of questions, which kinda shocked me.

This is really amazing, the genie sometimes wastes his question (Is your character black? Followed by Is your character white?) And STILL guesses Jon jones, a mma fighter who didnt even have a picture.

Wow. I did Optimus Prime and Lion-O and it was right on both counts. I'll have to try harder to stump it

That's what happened to me, but then he asked:
"Is he a robot?" LOL.
The genie then stopped talking after that.

I'm guessing it adds the "winners" to the database after a loss. Pretty smart.

For "Spinda" (pokemon) he asked:

Some of it has to do with the questions he asked too. The ones he asked me were mostly no answers, but at the end there was a list of character names and Angela Anaconda was on there. It was possible that he could have guessed Anaconda but the Odds of that character being picked over more popular ones was too low. If more people use Angela Anaconda then next time he will pick up on that and use that answer as a strong possibility.		2010-11-29 18:59:00
