Grabswitch wire randomly not appearing

Archive: 15 posts

I dont know why,
but ever since the last update/potc installment,
Randomly when I place a grabswitch..
It doesnt have a wire, and even when I put my cursor on where it should be..
there isnt one.

I have to delete it, and place a new one to get grabswitch with a wire, and that solution has yet to fail me.

I tried saving an object w/ a grabswitch, and everytime I try to grab that object, the switch is gone. It's probably only temporary and I can assure you Mm will patch it up on their next update.2010-01-26 04:46:00

we all just barge into the office and demand a fix!
Maybe add some new lava, rock and grassy materials while we are at it!

I had this happen as well. Very confusing because it only happens sometimes.

Wow.... am I the only one that this has been periodically happening since the release of LittleBigPlanet? Every once in a while when I place a switch the wire isn't there... not very often, but it happens. I just used to it as one of those little things I had to deal with. Usually it happens when I place a switch on the side of a piece of material instead of in the front. I remember running into this over a year ago.2010-01-26 13:35:00

I think thats 90% of the times I lost my wire ccubbage.
but happens on other occasions as well, like resizing the grabswitch.

Nope, Cubb... you aren't alone. I've had it happen in a level where no mag switches would have wires on them. I ended up just deleting it in the end, I think. But yeah - it's been around for some time. The whole "grab switch disappearing when on a captured object" is a new one, though.

Are you sure you aren't just not noticing the wire? It doesn't get any bigger when you resize it beyond a certain point.

Actually, switches disappearing on a captured object has also been happening to me for over a year... when I was working on Splat Invaders II, I would attach switches to the different aliens.... but when I would capture and place them switches would disappear.

Generally, I found it seemed to happen if the switch was right on the edge of the material, or on the side.

I've had it where I pick it up, spin it around, and resize it - and there's no wire attached to the switch....

Unfortunately, considering how many switches end up in my levels, I think I've run into just about every switch glitch (hey... that rhymes!) there is.

I've had the grab switch glitch... with fries and a coke! ..as well as wires hiding and disappearing from switches. My worst peave is wires hiding themselves under a close thin layer, then spinning it a bit and still have it hiding some other way!!! ARRRRGH!!

Just curious.. does it seem to everyone that it happens when you are closer to the end of your thermo? The reason I bring it up is I am having a horrible time with sound glitching out right now. Like on paintenator switches and plasma. Sorry.. I'm not meaning to change the subject, but I am wondering like for example CCubbage's issue. He must have a zillion switches in there and such on Splat Invaders II and that possibly what is happening with the grab switch as well?

No - I was having the issues in my separate empty level I was using to build the objects- and that had 95% thermo. My issues had nothing to do with thermo.2010-01-26 14:56:00

same here, no thermo issues as it happened to me the most when I just started a level.

Well, afaik most switches's wires now fully rate with the switches, something that wasnt so A year ago, the wires also seem to grow in size as well (untill a certain point) but comph.. cmon man you know me (a little) you should know that a simple wire not showing due to rotation/size would not be interesting enough for me to post
