F4F "Greed" looking for beta/ideas

Hey all it has been a long time since i sat down and made a level i thought was worth sharing. so i published a level called "don't be greedy!" Any feedback is appreciated. the level is unlocked! thanks again! i will do 5 level feedbacks guaranteed and more if i get the time. please let me know which level you'd like feedback on.

Here's some Pictures! I've completed the level. the boss is finished, and now i need Beta testers! i'll beta test any levels that need it in exchange for testing mine. please let me know if you'd be willing to help out with searching out bugs and issues in this level! (also anything you just dislike...)

So, the level still has 0 plays... and i've updated it a bit. more traps. more rock solid than before. added in a sewer monster, and i'm still stuck on the ending.2010-01-29 10:03:00

Not near my PS3 at the moment but when I am I shall have a go of both levels and tell you what I think. It would also help to know how much room you have left on your thermo so that people can suggest whether the boss should be simple or complex (depending on what could be fitted in)

Unless of course you manage to get the help of Kiminski in which case the sky is the limit because she can fit a lot of stuff in.

I'd like to take a look at this but can't promise anything because I've had the key bug for months now with collected keys not working. I'll try to collect it anyway but if it doesn't work I'll edit this post and let you know.2010-01-29 12:08:00

Once you put code in how do you get keys. It just says here is key for greed.......
I Used coloured boxes
Edit: Coloured boxes doesnt work, Well for me any way.

well, i have just about 2 bars worth of thermo left. i have an area planned outfor where the boss battle will take place that is about one screen wide (while playing, not creating) and zoomed all the way out. if you play it, (update tonight again, with a lot of improvements to bugs, and fixes to a couple of stupid things i found) the area with the grass and the white picket area right before the end is the "boss zone" anyway. thanks for the warm re-welcome. and i hope you enjoy this level!2010-01-29 13:08:00

Ya I agree the creature ride along bit is very nice as is the whole look of the level. The music choice, lighting and camera angles are all very well chosen and the overall design is very nice.

However I did almost lose all my lives in that camera zone with those emitted fireballs, they kept hitting me before I could dash for the chackpoint, so I would say perhaps lower the amount (or speed) that is emitted. Also just after the creature ride where you swing across, whatI assume to be, seaweed and then go up to find a green spong ball on a rope...then what? Seriously I tried everything and I just couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do or where I was supposed to go.

that has been addressed... kinda... theres an arrow on the wall showing you to pull the green thing to your right which will drop down a ramp. i probably need to make it more noticeable...

tomorrow i'll update the fireball room to make the mass emitted fireballs die off sooner so they don't pile up and get in the way.

i'm not sure if it is noticeable but there is another path you can take... the... "high road" if you will. if you arent greedy, you can take the other path by avoiding the red point bubbles in the room with the collapsing ceiling. i tried to give hints... paint them red. make a sound when you grab those point bubbles... i'm not sure how i can make that less subtle.

so i added some scenery, got rid of the escalator, put in more camera angles, adjusted the lighting, removed an elevator, and added in a little 100 point spot, but you have to play through once to get the sticker to activate it. (come to think of it. i didnt add the sticker yet. trust me though, it works)

i also added in a few more global lighting changes, made many switches not visible, added more music, sound effects, prepped the boss fight area, and added in a magic mouth at the beginning.

i've begun an idea for the boss battle that goes with the theme of "don't be greedy" the boss battle will consist of a machine which drops good points and bad points. you need to collect the good points while avoiding the bad ones. you must collect so many good points which will damage the boss, all while avoiding the bad points which will kill you off. what do you guys think?

The level is now complete! In the OP is some pictures for your enjoyment (sorry for the tiny size... lbp exports them that way)

the boss is pretty cool, (at least my wife says so) and it doesn't use the paintinator! woooo! for a while there i thought i might just give up and use it... but i like the way this one turned out.

anyway, the level is unlocked now, and is now called "don't be greedy" so come one, come all, and have a good time!
