PS3 recreations?

Archive: 5 posts

Anyone tried to re create anything they've made on the ps3 yet?

Now I'm talking more in terms of levels than small contraptions, but I suppose it's all relevant

How did you find the experience? Both in terms of creating and playing? Did it translate well?

I'm not sure if this really falls into what you were looking for, because it is not a small contraption, but it is also not an entire level...

For "Now and Then" I used my long dialog chain switch system that I used in LBL#2 through LBL#4. Now that I understand how many issues LBP PSP has with proximity switches, I am very surprised that I have not run into all that many problems since the system involves having a bunch of proximity switches wired to a bunch of different mechanics. All in all I would say that the transition was relatively smooth. I was actually pleasantly surprised with how well it all worked. In addition, having the ability to make disappearing material static actually made the whole switch system much more simple on the PSP then it was on PS3!

I haven't tried recreating any of my PS3 work quite yet. I'm considering bringing (and updating) my first ever level Sack-A-Tron to the PSP because it's simple enough overall to be able to fit onto the PSP.

LittleBigOctober has some logic aspects, but the overall length of the level just wouldn't work on the PSP so I'd have to do some significant editing. The minisub section was very difficult to get right on the PS3, so it might simply be impossible to do properly on the PSP.

Although fun to create, I have no desire to do another roller coaster or golf level, so Galaxy Hill and Par 5 Golf aren't going anywhere.

Offworld Colony is extremely dependent on logic, so there's very little I feel I could replicate on the PSP. I suppose I could take a new approach completely, but the lack of darkness and other lighting effects would really hamper the mood. I also don't think "scary" will translate well to the PSP, so that level is likely to stay where it is.

I'm in the process of bringing something over to the PSP with relative success so far. Hence being curious if others had tried/succeeded with it 2010-01-25 17:21:00
