Okay. about a week ago I was working on a really cool level. While I was working on it I tried to save. Everytime I tried to save i got this message on the top of my screen that said "Cannot save recent profile data due to an unknown error ." So im all like "Hmm!" The message came up every time i tried to save or went past a checkpoint! So guess what happened the next time i went on..... NOTHING! So then im all like "Hmm!" But the next next time i went on LBP. ALL OF MY DATA WAS GONE! then im all like "HMMM!!!!!!!!" Has anyone else had this problem!?

Noooooo you mean all your data is gone!?!? Oh my that's gotta be bad! I would have done more than said hmmm though i would have more likely gone physico and then commited suicide.... Sorry that's not exactly very helpful is it? Well never heard this "unknown error happen before" so can'y help sorry...

It must some real rare case of a corrupted file somewhere. These things happen. From my experience in LBP it's pretty rare. Sorry for your loss.

Actualky this is really the 3rd time I lost all of my data. This is just the weirdest way it happened.

I'd email MM or just get a new copy of the game. But email MM first in case they have a way of fixing it or maybe release a patch.

It must some real rare case of a corrupted file somewhere. These things happen. From my experience in LBP it's pretty rare. Sorry for your loss. Not so rare in the early days. Almost unheard of now. Plus, after leerdammer its incredibly easy to back things up.

OK but i only can move all my already back-up'd stuff to the usb-drive, because in game it wont let me save anything (level etc.)

i got this recently when i was trying to get some screenshots to my harddrive. it couldnt save them for the same reson, if u ever get this u might as whell restart the game and u'll return to ur last saves progres. this error is going on since the update where all ur levels get saved on game data instead of save data, with is now only used for backups. but having to start from a prefious save is allot better than returning to a curupted level and lose everything like before the update.

I made a new lbp-profile because of the fact that i still cant save. On the new profile i have nothing except 1 of my levels. so i think i should start to remake some of my object, outfits, levels and stickers after i got all of the materials from story-mode. *sigh*

Sorry to hear that guys That's the reason I back up my data onto my USB stick everytime I play. In case this happens.

I use to encounter a similar problem a long time ago, except I only lost entire levels. Plus there was the white screen game freeze where you had no choice but to reset PS3 and all data would be lost. But thankfully now the game saves every time you go to pod rather than every time you quite game. Plus, there's the backup profile/level options in menu now. So I always backup my profile every single day I play. I do this before I quite game for the day. So the rare freezing and losing data isn't a problem anymore. ^_^

Plus there was the white screen game freeze where you had no choice but to reset PS3 and all data would be lost. But thankfully now the game saves every time you go to pod rather than every time you quite game. Plus, there's the backup profile/level options in menu now. So I always backup my profile every single day I play. I do this before I quite game for the day. So the rare freezing and losing data isn't a problem anymore. ^_^ I have a back-up. but its useless because if i use it i still cant save. So i cant save anything i made/did new such as making levels, object, pics, costumes and even backing-up etc. I saved every time i played LBP. so even if you back-up every day you can loose all you worked for.

After expirencing a glitch in LittleBigPlanet Galaxy 4/4 (the undo didnt anything glitch)I tried to go into play mode, got a message saying 'Failed to load level', got booted back to my pod, and accidentally closed a message. I only saw the word..unknown D: I got this message! >:U Its weird though because my level saved when I went into play mode.. D:

(Sorry if it feels like I'm bumping this thread more ^_^&apos I feel like I'm the culprit for this problem... Cuz I got this problem a LOONG time ago... right when LBP was still young. Got the same message (coupled with the WSOD (White Screen of Death)) and, instead of losing my data, everything got CORRUPTED!! So I had to create a new account... which is of course Outlaw-Jack. All I have to say is back-up your data. That, and watch your time. If you play your PS3 for say... 14-16 hours, then it's bound to happen (or if you've encountered a bunch of lag).

Phew, that was the only time i got the message. But Ive still backed up LBPG, a few of my other levels, and profile!
