To change the global settings, open the tool section in the popit and keep pressing R1: you'll find everything there - to change them in play mode, you'll need to download the creator pack 1: it gives you the global settings tool (don't worry, it's free)

Is there a way to change a background in a level like during the level? If your talking about the whole background, like changing it from the wilderness to the gardens, that can't be done. If your talking about lighting, there's a global lighting object that can change the time of day, fog, and more. It can be found in the Creator Pack 1, which is available for free.

you can always make a photo of a small part of the background from one theme, and use it in another by putting it onto the most back thin layer. It might take a while to get it right, but its worth the efford!
