| Alright, I'll weigh in from a somewhat objective point of view. Lady Gaga, or whatever her real name is, was actually a very talented musician and singer before she adopted this persona. I don't know exactly why she has decided to go bonkers, but it's working for her. That said, I think her music is just another fad that will fade away. Her music is catchy, but shallow, and young people eat it up. Give it a few years and she will slide back into the shadows. As for me, I understand why people like her music, but I'm not one of them. I don't think she will be one of the all-time greats. Michael Jackson was a huge phenomenon for many, many years, and will go down as one of the greatest pop-stars of all time. His actions outside of music are regrettable, but do nothing to detract from his music. What he has [supposedely] done (yeah, like it's a question) is downright deplorable, but what parents would allow their children to sleep with Michael Jackson in the first place? I place blame on those parents as well. As twisted as Jackson was, he couldn't do it alone. For the record, I somewhat enjoy Michael Jackson's music, and I would definitely have to say he is a better musician than Lady Gage - no question. Remember, Top 40s/Pop radio stations do not report what is the best overall music as determined by the whole world, rather by the youth of our times. | I grew up on Michael and until a couple months ago didn't know who Gaga even was. Since then I've listened to Lady G often against my will and don't see what the big deal is. I can understand why people enjoy her music, but I just don't get anything out of it. I feel like she's mostly hype and due to this generations desperation for some pop culture figure to rise up do we get a media built attraction such as her. I mean look at the recent female pop icons prior to gaga and swift? We have Avril Lavigne, Pink, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, and a bunch of others I can't even remember. I understand she's supposedly more talented then those women, but like all of them she will most likely fade into black and if not will go down as one of those weirdos in the VH1 flashback docs. Then again maybe she will be this generations Madonna. Who knows. PS. Hopefully I didn't offend anyone. I can see Gaga is a talented artist. She really is.
