Water help required.

Got a problem that i could do with some assistance on.
I want the water contained in a cut away of a 3 deep block of stone only, without the water 'flooding' through the rest of the level.
the attachment shows whats happening, with the black dot representing a global water thingy, and the blue line representing the water line that goes 'beyond' the end of the block.

There is no way to do this. Water is always on one global level. Nothing more, nothing less. You just have to be careful when planning your level, clever camera tricks and raising/lowering the water level can achieve the desired effect. Just make sure nothing floats away.2010-01-15 18:56:00

Well to stop it showing through the stone you could always use the frontal layer glitch (discovered by bakscratch)2010-01-16 01:19:00

I suggest that you build the bit where there is gonna be water near the bottom, and the rest where there isnt gonna be water higher than the water level is ever going to be. This is so that it wont put out any fire or mess with gravity/physics based logic in the main part of your level. 2010-01-16 17:48:00

You could use a sensor switch and let the water raise and lower when you come close to the ditch.2010-01-17 21:52:00
