Wow, I leave this site for 3 weeks and it completely changes. I'm so lost here now, but I'll get used to it. THanks for your dedication to the site, CC!

They changed the way vBulletin conditionals work too, apparently. I made a small change. Is it hidden now?

No, your donor status is active (I checked) so we should be good.

Well, to be honest, most of the benefits I'd get as a donor I already get as a mod, so I don't notice. I just donate because I love this place, and I want to see it do well for a long time yet.

But yes, it's nice to see ads go away.

So far, I like the update.

A LBP-themed theme is coming though, isn't it?

Also, with Experience gone (is this permanent or temporary, I forget :blush, does that mean we can use animated avatars?

temporary... thought the length of which is unknown right now ;-;

Hm... yeah, it does kinda exclude people who didn't already get the upgrades from getting upgrades while exp's gone... hm :/

Well, I ran some tests with both Donors and non-donors, and both worked as expected, so either your browser has cached the old code (unlikely, but possible) or you have ad-blocking software installed that you're unaware of.

Yes, we're working on that right now. As to the vBExperience, we're going under the assumption that it is temporary, and a new version will be released at some point. But no, you cannot use animated avatars if your permissions do not allow for it.

Yup, I realised this myself yesterday, and sure enough, they work at home. I forgot about this new webfilter they installed, this site is about the only thing that gets through.

By the way, you fiddled with the reply buttons, it seems. The Reply With Quote no longer works for me; it just waits for something indefinitely. Also, I prefered the way the buttons originally worked, but it's not a big deal.

in the forums, you can tell if you have posted in a certain thread or not by the little paper mail thingy at the side, but when looking at my posts i cant tell if someone has posted after me because all of them have a pencil thing where the paper mail thing should be :/ if you know what i mean

also also how do you view your or someone's threads? someone mentioned how but i cant find a view threads button anywhere O_o i scared.

By clicking on the user name above the avatar "view forum threads", or in "Quick Links" in the navigation bar

Sounds like your browser is having trouble loading the quick-reply box. Just double-click the "reply with quote" button and it'll bring you to a new page with that message quoted automatically.

OK - A couple of things... First, the View First Unread option from the Forums pages is still a two (sometimes three) click process. Click it there, then it opens the thread and you have to click it again at the top of that page. Occasionally, it opens the thread on page 1 and you have to press it again to get you to the last page, then again to get you to the bottom (last post) of that last page.

Next... When I open a thread with new posts in it, the text and the icon for the View First Unread option are overlayed slightly (Chrome v3.0.195.38) as such:
http://content.screencast.com/users/v0rtex/folders/Jing/media/46644035-bbb5-4ac6-9062-b03b74c3a8dd/2010-01-20_0922.png

Also, sometimes when I view attached pics (thumbnails, etc) and I get the pop-up viewer, the text in the nav buttons is all wonky (again, Chrome). They still work as they should, but as you navigate forward or backward they change. Here is an example, in sequence (red arrows showing the errant text):

http://content.screencast.com/users/v0rtex/folders/Jing/media/2f72c4ac-de87-4ded-b53b-04bf28fd0c1c/2010-01-20_0930.png
As it should be.

Then, it starts getting wonky:

Ah, thanks, that works. Though I like not having to load a new page. I just noticed there's a script error, so I got you the details. I get it on IE7 and IE8. Note these were translated from dutch, so I might not have used the exact terms the english error messages would.

Well, I dunno if you're interested or just want vbexp because it's the best, but if you want a point system for 4.0 right now there's uCash (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=227910)... probably not as good as vbexp, and probably will just wait for that to come to 4.0, but hey, at least I put it out there :/2010-01-23 01:03:00

I'd like to renew this suggestion. It seems as though 4.0 exp may never come out, so we could sue that ^.

http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=232676 is a store mod compatible with that and also vbookie...

so yeah, I'm just saying it seems as though experience may never be upgraded, so might want to think about these... obviously all the custom exp probably wouldn't come back, but yeah just a suggestion.

I was actually investigating this system yesterday. If we got uCash, we'd also have to get the Point Market System and use them in tandem. This will be the way we go if vBExperience doesn't get updated soon.

I am assuming it would account for everything you've done on the site thus far, so you'd have the points that the system decided you deserved based on your history here. Obviously, it would be a different system entirely, so I wouldn't think it would be possible to make it exactly mimic the behavior of vBXP so you get exactly the amount you had before.

If vBExperience is updated, it would count everything, including all of the custom XP. If it isn't, we'd have to move to a completely new system, which means we'd start based on what that new system thought we were worth. Custom XP (as in, XP that's been handed out in contests or what have you) would not transfer over, which is why I'm hesitant to use a new system unless I'm absolutely sure there's no other option.

I have a few of questions:
1. Is there a store to buy the profile bundles? Is there another way to get the bundles?
2. Any idea when the experience is going to come back? Is it going to add up all then exp that was done during this period?
3. Will the personal profile be editable? if so, when?
4. The previous version had a feature that let u check the threads you've commented in AND it would show if someone had added a new post. Is there a way to do this? Is it gonna happen anytime soon?

All of those are known 'issues' which we assume are on their way. CC doesn't make these little Add-ons himself; rather, they are made by a third party (or through an update of vBulletin). Patience is the only thing I can offer as advice.

Well, the guy who made vbexperience hasn't been on the main vbulletin website for 4 months, and doesn't seem to be too active on his own website... I unno, I'm kinda missing a reward system, and he seems to have just disappeared, so my view for what it's worth is to start anew, and do it soon, but yeah.

Speaking of which... if we do get the shop back... might there be more stuff there? not sure what could be there logically, but yeah ;-; Anyway...

The original maker of vb Experience just announced he doesn't have the time for this anymore, and so gave the right to continue to someone else. so I guess we'll wait for those people to update vbexp to 4.0 :/

No, I mean there being more stuff in the shop! hahaha

Yep, there should... the problem however, is "what".

Maybe I should make a feedback thread for seeing if there's any more ideas for what can be in the shop :/.

Yep, we'll have to choices

1. Wait for them to finish exp 4.0 (what CC will probably choose)

2. Go for another mod and get it today but without custom exp we've lost (probably unlikely )

Either way it's coming :kz:
