Two part legs?
Archive: 11 posts
Is there a way to make legs? I'm trying to make a lizard but I'm stuck on the legs because I want it to actually walk. | 2010-01-11 02:12:00 Author: SavageCaptor ![]() Posts: 66 |
Attach the legs with wobble bolts and shove an invisible piston up it's rear end. It'll look as though it's walking, but it's movement will actually be controlled by the piston. If you want to do it the hard way and create jointed legs that will support the creatures weight, move in synch and keep it's balance, then good luck! | 2010-01-11 02:28:00 Author: Ungreth ![]() Posts: 2130 |

You should really post these threads in the Help section, I'm sure you'll get more replies there as many members are willing to help with anything. | 2010-01-11 03:33:00 Author: TheFirstAvenger ![]() Posts: 787 |
i made a lizard boss that advances towards you every stage, just used a pistons to move both it and its arms. | 2010-01-11 03:33:00 Author: Littlebigdude805 ![]() Posts: 1924 |

Moved to the Help! section. | 2010-01-11 05:02:00 Author: mrsupercomputer ![]() Posts: 1335 |
Well it would be possible, it would involve a lot of logic, wobble/motor bolts and HOURS of fiddling to make a realistic walker, you could check out thegide's levels. He's got a working spider which is great but for your sanity, better not do it ![]() You could try to come up with some mechanism that it would always be stable, that would be a lot easier, make sure it's not too top heavy though. | 2010-01-11 09:44:00 Author: Wyth ![]() Posts: 263 |
I have no actual experience with this, but I used to collect Zoids toys, and they could walk with no logic at all. Their legs moved in a circular motion, front left synched to rear left and front right synched to rear left, half a cycle off the other legs. They weren't very fast, though. ![]() If you wanted to do this, you'd have to connect the top of a leg to a wheel driven by a motor, and fixate the leg halfway in such a way that it can still move up and down. Then the feet will be forced in the opposite direction of the wheel. Hope this makes sense, maybe I'll try to build it some time. | 2010-01-11 12:13:00 Author: Rogar ![]() Posts: 2284 |
