Instead of stopping players to join permenantly, why not have optional gates that let's waiting players join! These could be placed after tricky sections or logic that could, with a late player, be ruined. These also mean you wouldn't have to wait the whooole level for other players to end. All you is place one in your level after a player pass gate, or even make the original tweakable to switch between stopping players or giving them access. Opinions, ideas and cakes are welcome! :3

I was thinking about this the other day - There is already a gate that stops new players joining, but not a gate to reverse the effects of this gate.
