"How to make good scenery" tutorial videos - forest and logic!
Archive: 16 posts
To celebrate the release of mine and luos first level together we have created THREE new video tutorials explaining how we made the level. We explore how we create the 'forest' look. We compare the final release to the original visuals of the level...and we spend a full 20 minutes examining the logic that makes it all work. We'd really appreciate it if you played the level before watching the tutorials - we've put a lot of work into it AND the vids are full of spoilers. The level is called 'In pursuit of the meddling magpie' under PSN: TheAdipose Here are the video tutorials.... Video tutorial prt 1 - scenery (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANJ5Ti4WaSM) Video Tutorial prt 2 - logic-1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3hM5_qYZOc) Video Tutorial prt 3 - logic-2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT2hjLc2cRM) this is our 4th set of video tutorials - we've already made videos on caves, boats and temples - so check them out by using 'more by this user' on youtube Check them out! Another great tutorial guys. One portion that you didn't explain, and I hope you will, that was how you had the whole egg section in localized B&W and then change to colour when you touched on the lamps. | 2010-01-17 00:35:00 Author: blackwiggle Posts: 84 |
Well, just a little complain. I don't get some things. Maybe you could explain some more things. Anything, But that, its good. Keep it up... | 2010-01-24 15:49:00 Author: snaker Posts: 68 |
Very much appreciate these tutorials even though I know how to do most of the stuff. It's just nice to see some different techniques. | 2010-01-24 17:21:00 Author: Syroc Posts: 3193 |
Well, just a little complain. I don't get some things. Maybe you could explain some more things. Anything, But that, its good. Keep it up...Well.. If you want to complain about some things, Maybe you could explain some more things, anything. No really.. What are things, and what do you not understand about it. what kind of things do we need to explain more. because.. things.. could also be.. tree's. so you dont understand tree's? Or maybe its unicycles! in that case you dont understand unicycles, maybe you could explain some more unicycles? or.. maybe you dont understand pink metal object with a little light in it, maybe you can explain some more pink metal object with a little light in it! no really.. what kind of things? on a sidenote: No guest appearances, so please stop asking to be in the vid. I think we have had around 10 people asking us in a few days.. And its getting a little ittle bit annoying | 2010-01-25 12:32:00 Author: Luos_83 Posts: 2136 |
You guys should do some stuff concerning water, or more indepth mechanics behind things... | 2010-01-25 23:45:00 Author: Ragfell Posts: 729 |
what kind of things? we have some idea's for new tutorials but be patient and dont forget we (adi mostly lol) released three tuts with the magpie level. | 2010-01-26 00:36:00 Author: Luos_83 Posts: 2136 |
i've looked at them all cept for the logic, which is next. I'm also doing some logic pack stuff, though its a slow process. concerning water, maybe something concerning puzzle, what your opinion on decor in water, etc. | 2010-01-26 04:12:00 Author: Ragfell Posts: 729 |
Just a short note to offer my heartfelt thanks to Adi and Luos for their genuine desire to help others, and the HUGE amount of work that goes into making these tutorials for fellow (often fledgling) creators. It is most appreciated, guys. For last Christmas, my adult daughter got our two younger boys (ages 9 and 11) a copy of LittleBigPlanet, and little did she suspect that her research scientist father (me) would become hooked on Level Creation within a month. It's like having balsa-wood modeling, Leggos, Creepy Crawlers, and an electronics / logic breadboard kit all wrapped up in one nice, easy-to-experiment-with-and-not-make-a-mess-in-the-house package! And when you're finished, you can actually let the kids play with it, without fear of it being broken...well, at least not irrepairably. Meanwhile, my wife looks on over our shoulders with one of those patient female, "Boys with their toys" looks on her face. Anyway, your tutorials and example levels, in addition to the great LBPCentral Logic Packs, have saved me a great deal of learning pain in trying to figure out how to do things on my own, as well as teaching me many of the finer points regarding theme, presentation, and detailing. Even if I never produce anything close to the caliber of what you two, either individually or working together, can create (you've set a _very_ high bar there), what I *do* end up publishing will be so much the better because of your efforts to teach, as well as do. Many thanks, Nanluin | 2010-02-07 18:11:00 Author: Nanluin Posts: 98 |
