I'm making a character for the level GregorytheGamer and I are making for the contest. The character is out of cardboard. Should I make it one thin plane or thick plane. | 2010-01-10 17:07:00 Author: SavageCaptor Posts: 66 |
Depends how it will affect gameplay etc. If you want it to not get in the way use a thin plane, if not use a thick. Although it does also depend on how detailed you want the character to be, if you want to use thin planes to add more detail to it. | 2010-01-10 18:36:00 Author: Plasmavore Posts: 1913 |

Both! Side effects may include mental illness, diaherria, or worser depression. Ask your doctor if both is right for you. | 2010-01-11 03:00:00 Author: Testudini Posts: 3262 |

using thin layers is useful for background people, you place a sticker on cardboard or wood or whatever and cut around it accurately for a decent character appearance, these can be spaced on several planes for a crowd effect. If you make a character one plane thick your problem will be its use. If its one plane thick it must have some form of effect that will change the storyline or gameplay. For example in an assassin's creed level, the character was made from dissolvable material so it was accurately shaped but had a thin amount of sponge on it, so that upon grabbing it would spray blood, scream then dissolve. Thats just one example of what you can do with it. | 2010-01-12 00:17:00 Author: Dunadrian Posts: 57 |
