What is the best way to organise your popit for level creation?

Archive: 7 posts

I have noticed in tutorial videos that the level creators always seem to have an easier time of finding materials, objects etc.
Their popit seems to be organized so that these things are easily found repeatably.

I'm totally new at level creation [a bit obvious by this question ].
My popit seems to be a cluttered mess in comparison, occasionally I get to a stage where finding things can be so frustrating I end up quitting [attempted] level building and start doing something else.

I understand that you can heart objects/materials etc so they appear in your hearted section for repeated use,but there seems to be something obvious that I'm missing. as when I view the videos the materials/items etc chosen seldom seem to have a heart next to them.

So has anybody got any tips on "Best Practice" in popit organization and uncluttering ,so things are easily at hand ?
Storage of built items from construction testing ,different projects etc apat from deleting them from hearted menu and just leaving them in a crater? [which I find a bit problematic remembering which crater they were left in]

It will become easier over time to find things in your popit as you get to know where everything is. I use the hearted section sometimes for tools and objects I use a lot, I don't use them for materials, stickers and decorations though.

You can also organise your popit by pressing square (While in the sticker or material or whatever section you are in), then R1 to go onto the next page, then there are different ways to organise your popit. For example: you can organise them by theme so you will have a section of things from the POTC pack, or the canyons levels from the story.

I forgot to mention my complete ignorance of the Theme options use.

I have seen this option in the popit, but do not understand the process involved in sorting things into theme's.
All my materials/items etc are "sort of" grouped together as I got them from the various packs.
If sorted into themes would this put them in their own delineated section,or sub menu?

It's quite simple, you just select the option in the popit menu and the game sorts everything in that section in the popit differently. When you change it to theme mode it'll sort it into what levels and DLC packs they were from. Apart from the methods I have mentioned, there is no other way to organise your popit. I hope this helped. 2010-01-09 22:55:00

The most tedious tools to go look for is the sticker tool and the corner editor.
I would strongly suggest you put those in the hearted section.

(to heart a tool, press square on it and then chose "heart")

I like to have my most handiest tools such as the corner editor and the sticker tool in my hearted. The rest of the hearted things are usually, the main materials, and stickers as well most prevalent stickers for a particular project. I also have the primary colors stickers I use like black, red, white and also all the alphabet as I like to label my logic systems.2010-01-10 03:20:00
