LEGO Universe

Archive: 46 posts

Anyone know anything about this game? From what I understand, it's a LEGO MMO or something similar with tons of building involved. Trailer to be found here. (http://www.gametrailers.com/video/ces-10-lego-universe/60584)

If it's wrong to be excited about a LEGO game at 17, I don't wanna be right.

I was a bit exited for this when it was fist announced, mainly because it's not a Tt game.

This image (source (http://us.universe.lego.com/en-us/NewsNetwork/Story.aspx?id=74160)) features a logo created by a 13-year-old yours truly. I didn't think it was actually any good but they stuck it in there. Cookie for anyone who can guess which it is

It's coming out next year.

Also, why am I just hearing about this now, when it was announced two years ago? I mean, seriously.

It was annouced to be released in late 2008, then it got pushed back to mid-2009, and now its been delayed until mid-2010. If you ask me it sounds ALOT like vaporware.

Even though they keep saying stuff about the game being for kids in those gameplay videos, I still think it'll be pretty sweet. I mean, come one, it's a real LEGO game. I haven't seen one of those since LEGO Island 2 (which I still love, btw). Speaking of, anyone else think it looks like a sort of an update to LI2 with online capabilities?2010-01-10 17:53:00

I certainly hope so.
Looks more like LI2 than LIXS anyway.

Oh, I forgot about that game. LI2 was an amazing game, though, and if it did turn out to be an update with online, I'd be juuust fine with that.2010-01-10 21:29:00

Of LI2? Good thing I still have mine. I did sell my copy of LIXS a long time ago, though. It just wasn't as good as LI2.2010-01-10 21:39:00

i have never liked legos...
I had em when i was 4 and i got mad when my brother could make all these cool things but i couldnt even attach the pieces.

Then at 8 i went to my cousins house and they had like 1000$ worth of star wars legos and i sat and played with those for HOURS! I didnt destroy them i just ya know had fun lol
When i got home i tried to build a big collection like that. I got a little star wars 50 piece walker trooper set or somthing, and i realized i would never build up a collection.

That is my history with legos

I've a custom-built Lego building table in my room. It's supported by a couple sets of drawers which house all my bricks. It's pretty schweet, if I do say so myself.2010-01-12 21:33:00

Hey, here's a 4 part walkthrough at CES by IGN.

Part 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewfVz3_33Nc)
Part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQVmLzzYxQo)
Part 3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZMZwvDccJ0)
Part 4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U66pxJ1Nssk)

I think this MMO looks pretty darn fun to be honest, got lots of platforming and puzzles, unlike most MMORPG's. The creation tools don't look that in depth, but they would probably keep me entertained for quite a while.

That darn air supply. Why do lego guys even need and air supply? They have no noses! They're made of plastic! The illogic of it all confounds me!2010-01-13 17:08:00

Well I think this should use a bump for one reason.

They are holding beta signups!

http://universe.lego.com/en-us/Beta/Default.aspx

I still have Lego Island and Racers 1 & 2 (Didn't like the sequels of either of them very much) I found a whole bunch of these 2 for 1 PC lego games at my target last year and got a whole bunch, an extra copy of Lego Island 1 & 2 (2 I have on PS1) an extra copy of Racers 1 & now I have 2, and some other like Lego City and Themepark, I'll get around to some of these one day

Unfortuantly I see they will have a paid subscription for the full thing (but they will have them available in CDs too). I'm just hoping there's an way to pay w/o a credit card, like with cards kinda like PSN or Nintendo points cards.

Cool!

I signed up, might not get the full game but this seems intriguing enough...

Seems like beta's up, since I was just invited to it ;o

... But I doubt I'd be able to even run this on this computer, not to mention probably not having enough time... so anyone who wants access to this but wasn't invited, pm me fast, first pm to me gets a free beta code for this. Yeah. I'm that evil. :kz:

Edit: Actually, nevermind, I'll at ;east try it... which means you guess can't leach off me. Ha. :kz:

... anyone else get in though? ;o

It's pretty good, but it's hard to tell since you can only play it at certain times, pretty annoying . Also thanks sooo much for the code. Here's some rep, even though rep means nothing .
