Sharing levels privately?

Archive: 17 posts

Does anyone know if the adhoc sharing option works with adhoc Party through the PS3?

It would be interesting to see how a collaborative project on LBP PSP would pan out.

Would be nice so we could have a few people test the level before it's properly published too.2010-01-09 17:21:00

Very true, I hadn't even thought of that! Considering that hearts and plays get reset when a level is republished (AFAIK, did they fix it?), this could help out a lot.

I have and use ahP quite a bit for Gran Turismo. I'll send you a friend invite so we can try it out. The tricky part will be arranging a time to meet, but short of that I don't see why it wouldn't work.2010-01-09 20:47:00

Cool, though I think Adhoc Party can be used without needing to be on the PSN friends list, no?

Anyway, I'm available pretty much all day Sunday and this coming Wednesday, otherwise it's only after 6 PM EST on weekdays.

They seem to be talking about the option on Community Moon that's below Go Online, which lets you share levels with friends through a local "Ad-Hoc" wifi connection.

I guess they live close to eachother. I don't even know anyone else in my country with the game...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adhoc_party

adhoc Party lets you play PSP games online (using a PS3) where they normally wouldn't be able to. It basically simulates two (or more) people being in the same room for the PSP, but through the internets.

You can download it in the PSN store.

Correct, you do not need to have someone on your friends list in order to meet up with them on ahP - I race against random people all the time on GT. Aside from the fact that I should have you on my list anyway (which I do now ), it'll be easier for sending messages and/or seeing if the other party is online. There may be a "friends" section within ahP, but I don't recall right now - I'll have to check that out.

Anyway, a collaborative LBP PSP effort would be interesting. I think it will be easier than the pre-online-create days of the PS3. Just trade copyable levels back and forth and that's about it.

Well, I can confirm that this works! Levels shared through adhoc are put in the Downloaded Levels section.

There's a couple of benign anomalies though :
1) The level author is set to your PSN (can't tell who you got the level from).
2) The high scores get populated by random people all with the same high score.

Oh, well that makes sense then. Silly copyable levels having erroneous author names until they've been published.
