Faking a sail boat as part of a growing level... Most yet
to be developed
all
Hi all. Im John.... So yes hi.

I am developing a level that includes a sail boat. Now obviously there is no wind in LBP (yet)
so it is all about faking it! I would be grateful if people tried it out and gave me some tips as
the rest of the level will rely on this little boat or two.

Also I need hearts etc in all ways hehe so feel free

It is only one of two levels under my name so not hard to find!

Try using a non visible winch that pulls the boat to destination; you'll need to do only some tweaking and some basic logic, and you'll be able to mantain the floating effect.2010-01-08 00:24:00

Thanks for the feedback. Though I always end up doing things my own way hehe.
I just updated this level. A huge amount has been added.
You see.... I am a little disheartened too though....

I am actually interested in creating and improving
and my levels are works in progress (as you will see).

However I am a little sick of the "youre a cheat" comments on the subject of trying to promote and get levels hearted. It is just crazy to think enough people will ever see, let alone heart your levels unless you get some promotion going and basically spam every forum.
I want to create AND I want my trophies! I am not apologizing for that!

Hey john,
First off.. I dont think its a good idea to ask "H4H" in the discription of your level, most lbp-ers dont like that, and the average person on lbpcentral might also be offended by this.

Furthermore, you cannot really say that this is a level, and should probably go under the projects section, instead of the levels section.
Because.. its just two boats floating in water.

I also advice you to watch several tutorials and browse the help section on lbpcentral to learn what is possible with all the logic and moving parts lbp has to offer.

you can also search out @logicpack on lbp for a very indepth tutorial/explenation of how logic works!

Since this is not a finished level, not has any gameplay yet, I am not giving any stars for it.
I did not say I gave 0 stars, I gave none. (had to walk the dogs, so just turned of ps3, so your score is not affected whatsoever)

I would love for you to check out mine and "theAdipose"s videotutorials and levels, they might get your creative juices running!
We will also release a new level today with three vid tutorials.
So if you have the time, please check out "in pursuit of the meddling magpie"

Good luck on your boat!

Thank you very much for the reply and useful bits and bobs you guys post all the time. Especially the logic levels.

However I fear you have seen a very much older version. It really is now a true level and has a great deal added. Apart from featuring a boat it has very little in common with my initial idea haha.

Anyway please take a look. I have certainly learned that I should not have published it until it was at least a self contained, working creation.

The subject of the 'H4H'... Well these arguments and upsets would not exist if it were not near impossible to get more than a few people to stumble across our creations.

Mine and adi's new level had 160 plays in a day,
its all about advertising, telling friends, people you know, maybe even your family!, asking the right people for a review might also help.
but most importantly, if your level is really fun and looks above average will often get you a lot of plays.
A year ago all i did was create the level, publish it and wait.
Now I spend at least a day to tell the forementioned people about it.

I will play your renewed level somewhere today!
