Movies, really any type of movie. Animated, Action, Adventure, Horror, etc.

Recent movies that have greatly inspired me are Avatar and The Princess and the Frog.

Avatar for it's epic scale and gorgeous night time setting.

Princess and the Frog for it's beautiful painting like backgrounds and just perfect setting makes for a perfect transition onto a level.

Grant, LOL.
I have 4 main inspirations that drive me in everything I do in my life, including level making.

1. music
2. crystals
3. ghosts
4. cats.

in that order.

As many of you already know, my Gothic Reverie levels were inspired by 80's goth band The Cure.

My new level, Tenement (97.5% complete and almost ready for beta testing) is inspired by a variety of sources including David Lynch, Stephen King, film noir, J-Horror and the Silent Hill series.

hmmm, I'm inspired by people I admire for different reasons. This inevitably transpires in who I am and therefore what I create.

As much as I hate to be pedantic, I don't think he has much to do with Metroid.

That said, he DID create Mario, and guess what MY inspiration for LBP is..!

[At least until I get around to a Metroid-esque level...]

In fact Miyamoto indeed don't have much to do with Super Metroid or the subsequent series.

Super Metroid was produced by Yoshio Sakamoto and designed by Gunpei Yokoi, one of the biggest Nintendo figure outside Miyamoto.
The team develloping the engine and tools + helping in the devellopement was Intelligent System, the best dev team Nintendo is having outside EAD (Miyamoto team of sort).

While Miyamoto supervised and produced many projects, he's particularly responsible for Donkey Kong, Mario, Zelda, Ice Climber, Kid Icarus, Earthbound, Starfox, F-Zero, Pilotwings, Waverace, Kirby, Stunt Race FX, Pokemon, Pikmin, Nintendogs, Wiisports and Wiifit.

The list is extremely impressive.

You know I don't actually have any inspirations when it comes to this game. That seems pretty bad now after seeing all these. My only inspiration was Mm's levels, and trying to match their standards at their own game while everyone else was trying different stuff, and that's just kind of evolved into my own style.

Outside of this game I don't think I really have any inspirations either (this is depressing) I have people who I idolise and think are amazing (Alex Turner!), but I wouldn't say they inspire me in anyway.
