Explosives! Stay clear!

In the level I'm working on, I need all the players to be clear of an area that will be destroyed by explosives. I also need the explosion to happen after the players have been in the general area (a large room) for a little while, so it doesn't seem like their presence has triggered the explosion. So.... Players enter large room, explore for a while, then the explosion happens. I need to make sure the explosion doesn't happen while the sacks are in the vicinity.
