The House of 1000 Skulls (Video Added)xiSiCx
You wake up in a dark, damp place and you do not know why or how you got there, but you do know that you must escape. Will you spend the rest of your life as a prisoner or do you have what it takes to make it out of The House of 1000 Skulls?

I have worked long and hard on this level and would love some feedback.

This level got a good review on LittleBigLand.com by AmazingFlyingPoo and I was also banned from LittleBigWorkshop for promoting this level. So some people like it and some don't. I would love to hear what the LBPCentral community thinks of it. Thanks for your time!

I cannot put my screen shots on my PC because my card reader is broke, but I will try to find a workaround. But I hope you still try it out any way.2010-01-08 00:25:00

I cannot put my screen shots on my PC because my card reader is broke, but I will try to find a workaround. But I hope you still try it out any way.

All I did was take some photos using the poppet whilst your are in-game - then exit and open your popit in the pod and navigate to the stickers area and find your screenshots.

Press square (or triangle - lol ) for options on the photo and choose the option to EXPORT to hdd

Then the photos will be in a folder on your ps3 ( once you exit LBP )

Use your ps3 web browser to find lbpcentral and login - then go to the Album/Pictures option on your profile and upload them to your library. View your photos in your library and note the web location (says http://www.lbpcentral etc ) in the bar on the top of the browser. I just copy it...

Once you have done this re-edit this post and click on the icon that looks like a "yellow envelope with a mountain on" and enter the http:// address of the photo = the location of your pictures - they will be sequentially numbered by your ps3 when you exported them so they are unique.

Preview your post and they should now be shown in glorious technicolor in your post.

Thanks man, I did not know you could do that. Before my card reader broke I just would transfer the screenshots to my PC. Thanks again, now I know and knowing is half the battle!2010-01-11 19:42:00

Gotta confess I never managed to finish your level. I don't know what the cause was - maybe a lack of time, maybe some frustrating point where I didn't know what to do. Either way, from what I remember, it was graphically brillant. It was a bit too cramped at certain locations, but that's only my personal taste.
brillant atmosphere and nice, semi open-world gameplay. Gotta give it another go soon!

Well thank you for the kind words, but I do hope that you take the time to play my level again and finish it. I know the difficulty can be a little rough but it is more of a thinking level as opposed to a skill level.

I really think this level gets overlooked because the majority of the LBP community is looking for a platformer level that can be finished rather easily in a short amount of time, and not a level that requires a bit of thought and time to finish.

For any one attempting this level, I just ask for a little patience before giving up and just declaring it too hard. It may take upwards of 45 mins to complete and quit a bit of trial and error, but I assure you that it is worth it.

I promise you that you will not find a level like The House of 1000 Skulls! It is one of a kind!

Wow! Hardly any feedback. Oh well,I think that I am coming to the conclusion that my level might be a little too hard and long for most of the LBP community, but I am gonna give it one more shot to get this level some exposure. So.......

If you are someone who likes puzzle/adventure games along the lines of Metroid, Zelda, or Resident Evil, then please try this level and let me know what you think. I will try and get some screen shots ASAP, but until then here are more details about "The House of 1000 Skulls".

- This level takes more thought than skill
- 20 mins average time to complete
- Each room has a puzzle to solve or a secret to find
- This level is dark, but there are light switches to find that will light up the rooms
- Using the glowing eyes on your sackboy will help navigation in the dark areas
- There are 6 trophies hidden throughout the level
- Each trophy contains a clue that will help the player find the next trophy
- There is a Trophy room to display the trophies found
- Final trophy found gives an important clue regarding the ending of the level
- There are no enemies and few hazards
- The visuals and mood are unmatched
- This level contains a key to the hidden area/level called "6 Rooms of Sacrifice"
- Only 3 people have finished the level and found all trophies
- The story allows the players imagination to run wild
- This level has a difficulty level of about 7.5 out of 10
- I have put over 250 hours into this level
- I have made many changes that Amazingflyingpoo suggested

If you like it or not, I would still love to hear some feedback, and your feedback might give some insight for others who have wondered about giving "The House of 1000 Skulls" a try.

Thanks for your time and I hope you guys enjoy this level as much as I did making it!

Ok everyone, I am sorry that I have not got around to posting the screenshots, but they will be coming soon I promise. In the mean time though, tin-cup over at LittleBigLand.com has recorded me playing the level and has posted it on the LBL Youtube channel. There are two parts and I did not reveal any secrets or the ending so that I do not give anything away and spoil the experience.

I hope this video will encourage people to give The House of 1000 Skulls a try and help those who cannot complete it. Please check out the video and then please check out the level, you will not be disappointed, I promise!

If anything, check out the most awesome costume in LBP I am wearing in the video! It is the elusive BUG BLASTER!

I was just wondering if any of you have actually watched the video or played the level. I'm not sure if people are watching and playing the level and just not leaving feedback or if they are just skipping past it. If any one has feedback, good or bad, I would love to hear it... PLEASE! Thanks!2010-02-01 23:53:00
