I really can't get passed the second torch bit. I just can't jump with it. That is I can jump fine as long as I don't try to jump the gaps. I've died about thirty times there now, if other players are even remotely as lucky (I don't think this has anything to do with skill) I can't see many people finishing it. (Edit: Made it now. Apparently you have to stop, jump and then press in the direction you want to go) And you spelled torch wrong unless you call it a touch. Great level otherwise. | 2010-01-03 20:30:00 Author: Syroc Posts: 3193 |

Pro's I'm a big fan of ICO (beat it twice) so I had to play this. + Atmosphere was great (good architecture and use of leaf stickers) + Great use of the 3D layer glitch - not to much of it + well thought-out puzzles + second section was twice as awesome as the first + candle part was hard at first but brought some cool game-play elements (Pro-tip) Jump first to get air then move in the direction you want to go - if you try to run then jump with the candle you mostly likely fall Con's - a lot of the ground was very flat - maybe some other material bulging out of the ground - the enemies seem out of place - I would suggest getting rid of them or changing them to gas like in ICO :star::star::star::star::star: and a heart Looking forward to the next one. http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc146/zekeike12/ICON0.png | 2010-01-03 20:50:00 Author: zekeike Posts: 71 |
Yeah, that part. Managed to get passed it that way. Seriously good looking level otherwise, though. Well done. | 2010-01-03 20:50:00 Author: Syroc Posts: 3193 |
You did an awesome job as usual, the visuals are awesome, I expecially loved the npc, the rock giant and the overall atmosphere; I too had some trouble with the torch, maybe explaining how it works could help us help you improve it. Also, in the section immediately before the one in the darkness, I managed to escape the gas wall by walking back to the left. Overall 5* and heart | 2010-01-03 20:52:00 Author: Shadowheaven Posts: 378 |
I did give tips at the gate part but by time you get to that part maybe you forgot or maybe didt see it. so I add more text to that to remind the player and slow it down, ^^; I think i got so use t it I forgot other may find it hard to work out how are the puzzles? | 2010-01-03 21:23:00 Author: jump_button Posts: 1014 |
The puzzles are all quite simple - this is not a complain/negative thing, in fact I liked them; as already said, the only minor flaw is the darkness section; if I guessed how the torch works right, you could try using less peach floaty. | 2010-01-03 22:11:00 Author: Shadowheaven Posts: 378 |

Just finished and really liked it. It had a kind of destroyed beauty look that was very nice! Like zekeike said, the ground was a bit flat in some areas, but overall not too bad. I assumed you needed the thermo for the background anyway. As for the puzzles, I thought they were great! They were simple, but some were very creative. The one at the beginning where you had to stack the blocks and the one at the end where you have to put the weight on the scale were my favorites. The torch was also cool, but it was tricky to navigate at times. I'm impatient though, so it was probably me! I also agree with zekeike about the enemies. They did seem out of place, but only because I've seen them in Sky Town and I assumed that these were too different worlds. So, out of curiosity, does this level inhabit the same world as Sky Town? Other than that, I saw a sensor switch right before the roof collapses on Sackboy and kills him, so you might want to hide that. Overall, very nice level and I'm interested to see what happens next! EDIT: I just remembered the flower puzzle! I loved that as well! | 2010-01-03 23:57:00 Author: mrsupercomputer Posts: 1335 |
Ill own up and say yes the enemies was a bit of a last min thing it was them or score bubbles ^^; I chose poorly...... http://images.bilsimser.com/GrailKnight.jpg I was think of some other enemies maybe in next one its a bit late now to do anything about it | 2010-01-04 00:19:00 Author: jump_button Posts: 1014 |
Just went and played through it. Honestly, I think that was jump_button's best work so far ... by far. When I got to the end and it was made clear this was just the beginning of a series - I got quite excited to see the next part. I don't know whether or not that would be covered in this series, but I'd really like to see the backstory/explanation for all of the masked blue creatures that inhabit jump_button's continuity. The only thing I think is a necessity to see in the rest of the series is story - and I don't necessarily mean a billion text bubbles, or even any, I just mean some context. I have so many questions after running through the first part, and I'd love to be able to piece together the answers to a couple of them - if not actually just be told. Brilliant, brilliant piece. Ill own up and say yes the enemies was a bit of a last min thing it was them or score bubbles ^^; I chose poorly...... I don't necessarily think so. The only reason people are saying that is simply because you've used those same enemies time and time again. And admittedly, it's clear why. They're simple, visually appealing, and are interesting enough to interact with to provide some interesting gameplay. However, instead of merely "dropping them" - which would seem almost like an oversight at this point if not some random whim - it would be nice to see them somewhat (albeit through some silent inference, presumably) explained and evolve into something else. | 2010-01-04 00:22:00 Author: Jagrevi Posts: 1154 |

I agree. They only appeared out of place to me because I've seen them in the Sky Town levels. However, I started to think of this level and Sky Town as different locations in the same world and thus, the enemies can be found in both! I know this probably wasn't your intention jump_button, but I think it's a cool concept and like Jagrevi, I'd like to see them explained a bit as they are very cool. | 2010-01-04 01:26:00 Author: mrsupercomputer Posts: 1335 |
I played the finished version last night jump_button, you've added quite a bit in since last time I saw it. it played really well, and looked as beautiful as ever, which is what you can always expect from a level by you. I got stuck at the torch again on this play through, died quite a few times but then once I'd learned the trick, breezed through it. And excellent, really polished, and fun to play level ***** and hearted. Can't wait to see more. | 2010-01-04 07:24:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |
updated two new enemies type that i was planing to save for next one ^^; and better torch you still cant run and jump but you can walk slow and jump. I love to know what you think of them maybe i made it worst ^^; | 2010-01-04 08:42:00 Author: jump_button Posts: 1014 |
Jump_button, you never fail to surprise me with your levels. The torch needs some getting used to be it's an awesome gameplay mechanic. But my real favorite were the three enemy types (even thou you can't kill one). The rolling one reminded me so much of Sonic One really awesome thing is the atmosphere. So SotC like. I played this level over 10 min., man it's long You need to hear more? Don't, just go play the level for your self people. It's brilliant. :star::star::star::star::star: & heart | 2010-01-04 18:18:00 Author: blizzard_cool Posts: 752 |
Good level. In my opinion, I think you should add more detail to the background, and maybe you should add an ambient, such as wind, but make sure it doesn't cover-up the music. | 2010-01-04 18:44:00 Author: warlord_evil Posts: 4193 |
This was an awesome, awesome level. The simplicity worked for me. Others seem to think it's too bland, but it's a style that works very well. I assume your thermo is maxed, so adding details isn't even an option, right? This level is extremely relaxing and a great piece of art to play through. I love your visual style, and this is my favorite of yours to date. Please let this series continue! 5 stars and a well-deserved heart. | 2010-01-05 00:52:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
The torch. The flower. The golem. The spinning ennemy. The ladders. The details like the anti-h4h sign, the little grab hand. The background and atmosphere. My love for ICO. 5 Stars for this level. . | 2010-01-05 07:09:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AP5j69sOEjU here a run of my level and I make the part more easy where every one was finding it hard. but that it if you can do it now XD that as easy as i will make it | 2010-01-06 07:32:00 Author: jump_button Posts: 1014 |
I personally loved this level. It has great replay value for me. The level has great visual style and good gameplay. The part when the golem rises up, was really well done and made me look forward for the mechanics in the next level. The puzzles we're simple, but in a good way. But the torch parts may get frustrating to some people. There was almost no story, but i hope you will explain the story in part 2. :star::star::star::star::star: 5 stars and a heart Keep on creating! | 2010-01-06 09:15:00 Author: TNSv Posts: 302 |
5 and a heart tiny bit irritating jumping the gaps with the torch though. | 2010-01-06 12:06:00 Author: BasketSnake Posts: 2391 |
I like how you changed the enemies: they suit the level a lot more - the ones with the shield are a great idea, and the rolling one is just adorable also, I don't think you did a bad choise choosing enemies over bubbles: your level are mostly scenery and atmosphere, and the score bubbles would feel somehow out of place - you could always put them in secret areas/treasure boxes. Playing this level again, I noticed the background while I was on the cranes section - how could I miss that?! The background is so well done it's jaw dropping. @people having trouble with the torch: mastering the torch is the same as mastering the balloons in the sky town level, it's slightly harder because you don't see the balloon; I played both game mechanics the same way and didn't have any problem. | 2010-01-06 13:12:00 Author: Shadowheaven Posts: 378 |
Completed this level. This is a masterpiece. The puzzles are well done. The art and background is beautiful. Very great tribute to ICO, too. :star::star::star::star::star: | 2010-01-06 14:08:00 Author: Beed28 Posts: 200 |
About time that this level becomes "cool" . | 2010-01-06 14:08:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
A really excellent level. I have never played ICO so I can?t comment on whether it was a good evocation of that game but I certainly loved the atmosphere of ruined grandeur you created. The level was very beautiful and somehow serene as well. I very much enjoyed the puzzles, some of which were really original. I haven?t seen anything like the block puzzle or weighing scale one before. I also thought you had pitched the difficulty just about right. They took some proper thinking about but not overly so. Thanks to your tip in the level I had no problems with the torch (which was in itself beautiful!). In fact there were lots of nice touches in the gameplay. I loved the golem and the flower too. It would have been nice to have had a little more backstory to set the journey through the level a bit more in context. It may be though that I would have understood it all better if I had played ICO! I am very much looking forward to the next in the series. 5 stars and a heart. | 2010-01-06 23:08:00 Author: shropshirelass Posts: 1455 |
This level is really great! One of the best atmosphere ever, awesome architecture, epic style! Some good puzzles, funny enemies, especially the bouncing ball! The music was perfect, i had a great time playing it. The torch part was incredible, the torch works very well and it makes the atmosphere very dark, but that zone was a little short. Good use of water, it gives a good look. The visuals of the level are great since the beginning, good gameplay with well made puzzles, like the balance one, unique atmosphere for another amazing level. 5 :star: and heart! | 2010-01-08 15:51:00 Author: Dante95 Posts: 504 |
I've been waiting for this one - when I saw the Giorgio de Chirico icon and your teaser about "Nostalgia of the Infinite", I was excited. I haven't put on LBP in ages, but this is one of the first things I'm going to play when I jump in again. Probably tonight, if I can pry Demon's Souls and Borderlands out and fight my girlfriend away from Dragon Age and then crowbar Mass Effect off my PC. | 2010-01-09 08:47:00 Author: Teebonesy Posts: 1937 |
I don't have any critisism - just wanted to jump in and say I REALLY enjoyed this one. Ico is easily one of my favorites, and you nailed the atmosphere totally. The puzzles were brilliant - some of the best I've seen in LittleBigPlanet. Visually, I personally think it's perfect. Handling the torch was, at first, tricky - but I got used to it. Your text bubbles were very useful. I noticed several english mistakes, but they were minor and certainly didn't prevent the text from being understandable. I understand English is not your primary language, so it's impressive nonetheless. Great job! | 2010-01-10 04:26:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
I was blown away by how good this level is. I loved ICO and I loved this level. Both the game play and visuals are top-notch, really a treat to play. All the little touches like the exposed brick on the walls and crumbling columns were really impressive and beautifully done. Thank you! | 2010-01-10 07:46:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |
My faviorite Lbp level so far, the way you add little details to the level look so great, can you please make a tutorial on how to decorate a level. | 2010-01-10 11:45:00 Author: CYBERSNAKE Posts: 280 |
Such a great level! Beautiful visuals and layout, calm atmosphere, and great gameplay ideas! I just loved it ! I'm really looking forward for the next one! Really great work! (as usual should I say ) :star::star::star::star::star: + Heart | 2010-01-11 04:39:00 Author: dajdaj03 Posts: 1486 |
Its been a while since I played this level but for some reason it still sticks in my mind Likes: Its very imaginative Its like a Ico Shadow Of The Colossus theme kind of level (which is good) Great gameplay Good atmosphere Improvements: Maybe you could add some more scenary in some places? E.g: more clouds and buildings to give the level even better atmosphere But another great level, good work! please try my level, On Stranger Ground and maybe my Sky City level. Thanks! | 2010-11-14 20:05:00 Author: Unknown User |
I really liked it! Two of the highlights for me were the rock monster that lifts you up and the wall art. (the one with the sword in particular) I liked how otherworldly the level felt. In that way you nailed the Ico style. I had some trouble with the grab-able objects since the grass could also be grabbed, but it wasn't too big of a deal. 4 stars | 2010-11-23 02:22:00 Author: skumchunk Posts: 57 |
