A public apology.

Archive: 21 posts

Hello people.

Now then, i realise that since i joined, i have annoyed, offended, ****** off, insulted and driven people nuts with my constant single mindedness, my wish for my opinion to be fact, and the fact that i see admitting that someone else is right as...well i don;t know what i see it as, but i don't like doing it.

This in turn has led to arguments with many members, led to infractions, and led to bans. Mainly over pointless crap that didn't need to happen.

I want to take this opportunity to apologise to those members for whom the aforementioned is true.

I can't put everyone here, as not only can i not remember everyone, i have probably had problems with most people, so it would take far too long. But you know who you are...

To name but a few, as you can see, sending a message to each would take ages.

So to everyone, i'm sorry.

I know i missed people, but anyways, i hope for no further animosity between us. Just remember that when you read one of my posts regarding music i like and dislike (for example) or Xbox vs PS3, i will be single minded in my opinion, and there isn't much people can do to change that i'm afraid. It's one of my many flaws, which i accept, but for now, i doubt it will change. So just take most of the stuff i say with a pinch of salt. I say a lot without thinking, with reference especially to a comment i made about veterans day, that annoyed a lot of people. I seem to get overly emotional about a lot, and that can influence what i say and do. Which many of you have noticed with my possibly (in your minds) overdone remembrance of The Rev...

Basically, i have many flaws in my character, as we all do, and the causes for these arguments are but one of them. So please, forgive what i have said, and what i will say in the future. I probably won't mean it. And to those who say i should edit my posts if i regret them afterwards, i won't because that would be admitting defeat, and as you may have realized, i don't like doing that. I'll probably regret this soon, but whatever.

And mods, i know this may well get locked, but can you at the very least leave it open for people to see, or i just wasted 20 minutes.

Cheers, maid3n.

This is truly honorable. I respect the fact you've taken the time to apologize to these people.

And yet, admitting defeat isn't somersetting that is necessarily bad, you see. It takes a real man, of real courage, to admit he has done something wrong. And when we do admit defeat, it feels better than holding it in. But, like you said, we are all human. We fear that we'll lose respect once we do such a thing, but as a matter of fact it makes you more respected. Just the other day I admitted to my Republican friend that i didn't like Obama's health care plan; Which I didn't, but one shouldn't mold oneself in his image, one should mold oneself into the image of what is right. If that made any sense.

But I digress. In any case, apologize for misbehaviors, but regret nothing, for you learn from your mistakes.

EDIT: Didn't have to add me to the list, we already made up, remember

IMF,

I honestly don't even know (read: "remember") why I made your list. We old folk don't always have the best memories. But for what it's worth, apology accepted.

I don't usually let much of anything said or done here bother me in real life. And I have long since accepted the fact that without the benefit of body language and tonal inflection, text based mediums (email, texting, blogs and forums such as these) will always run the risk of potential misunderstandings and misinterpretations.

I agree that it takes a lot of character to swallow your pride and admit when you are wrong. And while you say you don't like to, and are not likely to start, I would say you just did.

Happy New Year man!

You know, there are a lot of ways you could have reacted to what happened, and I'm pleased you went this route. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I never like handing out infractions or bans, especially to members that spend a lot of their time here. I'm glad that you understand why it happened, though - that way, you can avoid it in the future.

Good to have you back.

I genuinely don't remember ever having any cause to be upset with you at all. I remember when Rhy was in the sig exchange and he respected and liked you. I did too and still do.

I admire the fact you are building bridges here, for those who you may have not seen eye to eye with in the past.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, how boring would things be if we all thought the same way, as long as people aren't rude or abusive to each other.

Thank you

We're cool, dude. As Cartman said, you're posts and personality are a staple here at LBPC at this point; it just wouldn't feel right without you. It's always good to step back once in awhile - as you have here - and assess the situation. Kudos to you for taking the time to do it.2009-12-31 11:57:00

Thanks for the kind replies, means a lot to know no one still holds/ever did hold anything against me.

And to those who don't remember any reason why you would be on the list, it may not have been anything big, it probably wasn't, but for some reason it stuck out in my mind when i was making the list... And if you genuinely can;t remember anything, then just take it as an apology for something that may well happen in the future

But once more, thanks for the kind replies.

I remember we had some words, but nothing really serious

Well, not too sure why I made your list (can't remember any times you and I personally had a disagreement) although I do understand why you made this list, and am glad that you did make this post. I know you've been, well, "upset", namely with the mods over some changes to LBPC... well, yeah.

You know what I'm mean. You admitted it and apologized- now you just need to actually change - unlike the last huge apology I remember by a certain pirate >_>. Yeah...

Anyway... um, yeah. ... you know what I mean. Good job manning up and w/e, and better 2010 I spose? :/

... Also... when did I make your list might I add, or is that just general in that I was disgusted by your behavior- which I must admit, a couple times I was :/

Hey aren't you the person who made the thread about new year resolutions and you couldn't think of one? Well this could be it, to be a better LBPC member .

And ARD may i direct you to what ir0nmaid3nfan said earlier:

Cheers, maid3n. Obviously I didn't make your list, since we seem to have similar views on most things (save XBOX vs. PS3, but we won't go there ) but I can still appreciate this thread. The fact that you can recognize the stuff you mentioned and be willing to move on from it is a pretty big deal and something a lot of people wouldn't be able to do. So, hey, keep it up, man.2009-12-31 20:29:00
