but again, Sony is founder not the maker, a lot of people has license to blu-ray, they can simply add it aid people will just say

"MS is so badass Sony can't do anything" and even more trolls will attack our exclusives

again i state, that means sony wins the war since they are the founders which means some of the money goes to sony. if it sells rlly well then sony wins double.

no...not really, people who have the patent to blu-ray do,

Sony has the title founder because they were the first to use blu-ray for games, as for blu-ray players, lots of companies make them, not just Sony.

It is sad but hey at least we get to call M$ hypocrite for saying blu-ray is too much space, besides they kinda have to since HD-DVDs are out...

If this does happen, it'll be a big slap in the face for M$ though, it's like siding with your rival.

Also, I'm gonna stick around here, I don't visit often, I let some posts build up. But I will stay here.

ms has been a hypocrite from the start saying that 1080p and hdmi is not needed then they add them months later. ms fanboys will kill themselves if this happens.

It's defiantly not out of the question.. because blu-ray dominated its competition, its expected for Microsoft to admit defeat and get up-to date, especially with the lifespan of these consoles expected to be quite a few years.

Although I rarely use my PS3 to watch Blu-ray movies and don't have HD, so if the demand to watch movies isn't there then there is no problems, but they will probably make a NEW console in the future and incorporate this, or just sell it as an add on once HD and blu-ray starts to actually dominate the market and is found commonly in most households.

Now I sound all clever! Yaay!

But seriously, stuff like this has happened before and it's actualy good for both companies involved.

the fact is that they will eventually get it there wont be a addon for the xbox360 as the graphics card would need to be updated so its probs the xbox whatever they make 720 probs lol2008-06-04 18:47:00

Yeah, the chip-reader or something..

well, I still don't mind. 360 can be as up-to-date as it wants, long as it stops all of them getting a PS3 and flooding the community with there .. xbox..ness.

:/ (sorry to 360 fans if that comment offended you. You have my sincerest apolo-noodles. Thanks you)

I wouldn't be suprised. It's the only way for them to match Sony, otherwise Sony looks like the clear-cut winner by the time the next gen of consoles swings around. If HD-DVD still existed, trust me, that's what Microsoft would be using.2008-08-05 06:02:00

True or not, I wouldn't really care.

Sony has pretty much made almost every sort of electronics or media format. I wouldn't really be shocked to see something that's used by Sony used by a competitor.

Well, Microsoft's not the only company guilty of it, either. Microsoft is plenty guilty(avatars, installing a game on the harddrive, ect), but so is Sony(trophies, video download service, ect). It's a buisness tactic. Why do you think the crappy knockoff cereals still exist? "Golden-Os"? Really?

Won't happen. If it does, Sony will make it way in their favor. They do own the patent, I believe.2008-08-05 16:40:00

Who cares...every game thats worth playing on the 360 is available on PC...

This is the downfall of the system...

The Wii and the PS3 are the systems that offer you something that you cant play anywhere else...

don't get so worried - i'm pretty sure it will only play movies - and not games. they'll keep their games on HD DVD

trophies or achievements or SKILL POINTS have always been around

microsoft just made more obvious that they copy systems
lips=singstar
hdd installation
avatars=miis
new look=crappy vista
