Notes From Play:
Time lag program effect was neat and probably my favorite part of the entire level. Really enjoyed it. The effect was used enough to enjoy it, but it didn?t dominate the level and become ?old?. Visuals were great.

Late game add of two folks. I?m not a big fan of having joins midway through a level, and would have like to see a player lock checkpoint early on.

Wonderful use of paint and paint switches to fit into a variety of situations within the level.

Two of us were dead when the third hit the area at boss where lights go dark. He died without hitting checkpoint and the lack of lighting made getting back to the boss a little challenging.

Lighting:
Lighting effects were great and it was an excellent use of the VR materials. As mentioned in the notes, there was a minor issue when lights didn?t reset to normal after dying at boss prior to hitting checkpoint where paint is (he ran into gas below).

Sound:
I can?t recall any bells and whistles on sound. Seemed to be just the basics, but the room was loud with three screaming children at the time ? so I could easily be mistaken.

Theme:
I really liked the concept and the look of the level. This was very fun. At first I was like ?eh?? ? but then I was like ?cool!? ? it worked extremely well and the level of time put into the level design showed through.

Artistic:
The level is great and the VR material is used very well to add a three dimensional quality to a digital world. Excellently done, and it came off as very clean.

Pro?s:
Level design and artistic look
Unique game plot
Boss and sub-boss were fun to play
Variety of switch types and mini-objectives

Con?s:
Lighting switch didn?t reset when spawned away from boss.
Players joining late in level

Thanks, I really appreciate the feedback. I tried to get rid of the grievances you had with the level, and it only got better because of it.2009-12-31 17:27:00

I must say that I loved the story, and I found it very unique and felt really drawn into the level because of the theme, lightning and everything about it.

The Time-Lagg thingy was truly brilliant, one of those things I couldnt have come up with and I have no idea how you did it ^^.

My favorite part of it was the Corrupted Zone. It made my thought skip right back to that Zelda : Twilight Princess feel, really, truly, amazing

I gave it lots of stars and a "Brilliant" tag.

The only things that bothered me ( Slightly ) was the Stairs. Im more of a ramp guy. This is very minor, just thought to point it out.

And that it was alot of wide-areas and just walking. This isnt much of an issue since it contributes to the overall theme of the level, but yet again I thought Id point it out =)

Great level, cant wait for the next one

Notes:

Your level was very visually stunning!
I could tell it was very detailed, and I looked out for how much work you put into it, and I gotta say it's wonderful!

I liked the lighting and the style of the whole level, it really put you in place.

Lighting:
Excellent, really keeps the theme alive.

Theme:
Original, and very detailed, so good job there! I really got into the whole "Virus" story thing, and can't wait for the next installment

Sound:
Hmm, my only perk here (Maybe my own opinion, too) was the music. It fit the scenario, but it got old in a minute or two, maybe use some variance of MGS music? And for the last boss, the Boss Battle song would be neat too (The one made by the Sergei composer dude, it has a lot of Latin chanting and epicness)

Game-Play:
Very fun to play, and not too easy, also (Which is good). The enemies were unique, and varied. I would've liked to see some bigger virus-type enemies too, maybe later on in the level next to the boss, maybe some kind of "Mother-Bug Guardian"? I guess it's an opinion as well, but your level's still fine as it is XD I'm just tryin' to suggest things here and there I guess

Over-All:
Great level, I could tell you took LOTS of time making it, and you polished it up very well. I liked the use of camera angles too, it made you feel much more involved!
My Rating: :star::star::star::star::star:
And hearted

I hate how your level barely has any plays, it should be up there in the hundreds, maybe thousands by now, but the system keeps it down...I hate it when that happens, a really good, worthwhile level is made, and levels that take literally 5 minutes to make already get thousands of views and tons of hearts. Grr...

Oh, and check back on my level to test it again, any other feedback would be appreciated I'm going to be adding lots to it, and I've already started on the 2nd part, Sector 5, but I'll be sure to perfect Sector 4 as much as possible before that happens.

I think I allready told you this on your level @ lbp itself, but this level was a real jewel in my humble opinion, only 100 plays? no way!

I could really write a long review, but if I tagged it beautifull, gave it :star::star::star::star::star:, hearted the level and even hearted you.. that should say enough.
(Especially since I am really picky in my choice of levels).

The slowdown effect was one of the coolest ive witnessed so far, I got the basic idea on how to make one of those, but it might take me some time to do it just right.
You should make a copyable version of this effect, it might get you quite some hits!

At some points in the level you really have that multipath feelings, I love that!
Shall I go left.. or right? AArgh.. cant choose!

I just loved your bot that holds a price bubble and plummits itself into the depths of eternal ****ation! Ive never seen that before.
The level was very long for my feeling, but I enjoyed every minute of it!

now

Somewhere today me and TheAdipose will be releasing "In pursuit of the meddling magpie" and we would love it if you took a look at it and tell us what you think in the thread we will create for it!

cheers!

First, sorry for my English.
I liked thew level. It has good graphics (the final section is really good) and a very original design of traps and situations. The level is long and entertaining, and reach to the end isn't impossible. What I don't like is the ultimate enemy: I've taken too long to destroy it. During the final confrontation the player is too dependent on the luck. I've given four stars. I look forward to your next level.

Thanks for the feedback Luos, I appreciate it, and I also wanted to say that if you collect all of the prize bubbles, you do get the mechanism to slow down time. I want to thank Canelita for the feedback as well, it is very much appreciated.

I just played this one. This is an excellent level. The whole time slowdown thing is awesome. I like the looks of this one, and I think the music you chose fits very well. The storyline is good, and it doesn't bog down the gameplay. It was a little long , but you kept me interested throughout. Great work!!
could you check out one of the survival challenges in my sig? thanks

Nice One! Enjoyed this level, gave :star::star::star::star::star: and <3
I liked the slow time program concept. great idea. plus the visuals really suited. i like the way at one point in the level, the red VR material was used to look an actual spreading infection.
one of the lift shafts, the global lighting tool is visible.
There's a prize bubble of a red monster above a red monster which is tricky get, since there's not much bounce in from the monster. and since the level is so long i suggest making it easier to get the bubble. for completionists.
the boss at the end wasn't really a challenge, just awkward getting the shots in from the upper left ledge (what way do you beat it?).
i would have liked to have seen more computery speak, like where you are in the lbp program/ circuitry.
you say the level focuses on exploration as well, but i didn't really feel any real exploration. felt like one route with some odd extra side bubbles.
The gameplay is varied and not boring, making the lengthy level fun throughout

If you're F4Fing can you feedback my spelunking level? (Its really explorey - multiple routes and hidden goodies)

Hi! I played your level today, it's great

I like the style and I got the feeling I'm inside some kind of computer or such. And being attached by virus, really.
It reminds me some bit of Tron (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tron_%28film%29) movie, but I haven't seen anyone making a level like this yet!
playability was good, gun shooting and jumping and switches. I also like the slowing program you made and used it well. The boss and the spinning wheel around it was brilliant idea to put it in there.

There wasn't a lot of any bad things about it, I only got stuck in one place where you shoot one virus over you(your screencap 2) and then go with elevator up and you should walk a little right and jump down. That's the part where I didn't see well that where to get down or where to go, so I kept coming back to the virus to shoot at but it didn't do anything anymore and came back up and finally noticed the hole in the floor. You could make it little more visible.

Story worked, visually great and great playability. :star::star::star::star::star: thanks for already F4F me!

They optimafrogg Thanks again for your feedback on my troy levels, I'm really gland that you enjoyed them. I got a chance to try out this level, so here's your F4F!

I thought this level was really well done! Your use of the VR materials was exceedingly brilliant, and they really lent themselves to the level to create a unique style. The paintinator action and platforming were also great, and I found a couple of hidden bubble caches, which always make a level fun to explore! I really liked your use of the time slowing effect, it gave the level a unique feel, I haven't seen that element used often and when it's done well it can really make a level fun to play through. The final boss was a great paintinator boss, that used the time slowing effect well. Overall, the level was really well done and very fun to play!

as for criticism, I don't have that much lol. The enemies with the spikes on their sides were actually a little too tall and I couldn't seem to reach them when I tried to jump to their creature brain. There were a couple of places where it seemed you had to jump on their brain to reach a prize bubble, but it seemed impossible to do lol. There were also a few enemies that died by explosion, instead of their brain being destroyed. this is fine, but some of them left over debris from their former selves, and continued to shoot even though they're dead lol. what you could do is emit a couple of explosions for a cool effect, then destroy their brain to make sure they disappear entirely.

besides that, awesome level! I gave it 5 stars, easy thanks again!

Thanks Duffluc, the enemies have always been a bit tricky, I'll see if I can't make the enemies a bit shorter, and I'm curious as to how you emit explosions, would you mind sharing that information?2010-06-18 04:36:00

oh, it's super easy once you know how lol. in pause mode, take out a bomb, and put a mag sensor on it. hook that sensor up to the bomb. then place the key to that sensor right next to it, on the bomb as well. capture the bomb. as soon as you unpause the thing will explode, because the key will be turned on right away! easy as that 2010-06-18 07:06:00

For your F4F:
Good story, excellent visuals, (I really like how you signified what was corrupted and not), and very nice bosses.
:star::star::star::star::star: and a heart
I didn't run into any bugs during the level, so this review was short.

Really good story! And one of the best VR levels I have seen.
The platforming with the time stops were great, but I almost ate
my controller at the stage with the buttons you had to shoot and
then two platforms spawned repeatedly for some seconds, but that
made them very hard to jump + when i finally made it I got killed by
some spikes that I did'nt see before it was too late.

That was a really cool level. The visuals are great and neatly polished and the usage of the paintinator is ingenious. I also loved the time change part especially when going against the final boss. It is also one of the best VR grid usage I seen in any levels. 5 :star:s and a <3

My recent level also has a usage of the paintinator. Check out "The Hero Chronicles LV3 Action Mansion" and F4F.
