Hey theswweet, That level was a whole lotta crazy--in a good way! The loud, in-your-face color scheme and sound effects successfully made an adorably wacky atmosphere. I really enjoyed the text and personalities, except I would edit the grammar a bit as some things were distracting and perhaps you can be more creative with the characters. Because of the silly title, I think you have an artistic license to do whatever you want, and your characters felt "safe." On another note, I found some flaws in the gameplay, both large and small. First, in the first puzzle section where you have to do red/yellow/green/blue tasks, you can cheat by grabbing on the red sponge and landing on top of the green section and running across to the other side. The race section also needs some work. After the zip line, dying breaks the level as you can no longer finish without restarting. I think you can fix this by emitting both the grabbable material and the bubble hopping section and attaching a sensor switch to the emitter... Anyways, I had a blast playing your level and would love to replay it after you give it a bit more polish.:star::star::star::star: A certified crazy, jeffcu28 | 2010-01-02 02:38:00 Author: jeffcu28 Posts: 648 |
thanks for the feedback...i'll try and fix that stuff...should only take a sec ^_^ | 2010-01-02 04:43:00 Author: theswweet Posts: 2468 |
I just played this and enjoyed it. I like your choice of bright, simple visuals, and entertaining gameplay. The whole crazy theme is fun and carried consistently throughout. You made great use of sounds around the level, and the design of your challenges is good, although they could use a little refinement. My observations are pretty much the same as jeffcu28's in that you can cheat on the color challenge. The zipline and brain popping section is ingenious, but yes the level officially breaks if you die. Speaking of that, an alternate solution would be to put a moving checkpoint that starts at the top of the zipline and moves past the brains. A player proximity switch set to directional placed at the top of the zipline should do the trick nicely - that will bring the checkpoint to the player when they reach that area, then move it to safer territory in the event of death. One other thing I didn't quite understand was the "what is my name" challenge. I had no idea where to put the sticker, and I also had no idea what the answer was. I just kept spamming my 'switch trigger' sticker choices around the area until something eventually happened. Overall, I did like this level and played it a couple of times. 4 stars and hearted. try it again...i updated a min ago ^_^ | 2010-01-02 06:31:00 Author: theswweet Posts: 2468 |
Played it again, and it's much better! Also, I finally saw the speech bubble in the "what's my name" challenge - I had to cycle through the other ones a few times but it eventually popped up. It makes a little more sense now, but mostly in the regard that it's not supposed to make sense at all. 4 stars again and a re-heart. Thanks for going to the trouble of fixing this. | 2010-01-02 07:06:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |
it wasn't really any trouble...thanks though! | 2010-01-02 07:09:00 Author: theswweet Posts: 2468 |
Hi Theswweet, just played your level and i think its nice. Maybe u could make more use of the corner editing tool. (I dont like the grid stairs that much) and peronally i think the camel could also be replaced by a custom rocket anything. Crazy Arrestor | 2010-01-04 15:28:00 Author: Arrestor Posts: 363 |
That was a fun level, a little bit crazy but in a good, charming way. I liked the sense of humour. And the visuals were interesting too, making the level feel cohesive despite the variety and craziness. My favourite part was the platforms with brains, that was really ingenious! (I died there, and didn't get stuck, it worked fine to me, don't know if you fixed it after other posters said it broke the level). 4 stars, but I'm looking forward to your next levels! | 2010-01-09 19:17:00 Author: Lleonard Pler Posts: 277 |
thanks guys...i might make a prt2 | 2010-01-18 22:07:00 Author: theswweet Posts: 2468 |
Maybe I'm too stupid, or not crazy enough yet, but I didn't see how I was supposed to continue after the 4 color challenges. And this thread has made me curious about those brains. | 2010-01-20 21:19:00 Author: Rogar Posts: 2284 |
Roger i feel the same way exactly the same way. Im stuck there too. I grabed the material in the top w/ the elctric material and behind the emitter. And i put stickers of every number all over and got the blinng noise for everything. But when i grabv the blue it says ull add a blue later. there is still all the lethal gas material everywhere. HELP? | 2010-01-21 02:58:00 Author: stk_ogre Posts: 7 |
did you do the red challenge?plus i checked...it works fine so i don't know what happened...also i fixed the brain part ages ago! edit - ignore the blue comment...after you finish all the challenges(there is NO BLUE!!!)just head to the right of the floating head...hope you have fun w/the rest of the lvl | 2010-01-21 03:20:00 Author: theswweet Posts: 2468 |

Well, I just took a break from create to give this level a try. I had a good time with it You did a great job with the color scheme and the simple design of the level (squares and circles and all that jazz). The idea of having multiple challenges to bypass certain sections was a lot of fun. I am a bit confused about part of it though. Whenever I grabbed the blue piece of material, it just made the fail sound and said I failed, and I'm not sure what I am supposed to do to not fail. I can only assume that I was supposed to fail there, because I actually played the level a whole second time just to see. My only real issue with the level is near the end when the race takes place. I had a big issue with falling out of the level there. I actually never intended to fall out of the level, but when I was trying to beat that part, I literally fell out of the level 5 times! The first time, I tried to just swing past the finish ling from the rope, and I didn't make it, so I fell to far to the right and ended up outside the smoke. I tried it again and the same thing happened. I then tried bouncing up the blocks, but I missed a bunch of times, and 3 of the times I ended up outside the level again. Anyway, if you ever republish, just make sure to extend that smoke Great job on the level, and I will look forward to seeing what you come up with next. It would be awesome if you could try out my level "Lost at Sea" and leave some feedback for it. | 2010-01-31 08:36:00 Author: amazingflyingpoo Posts: 1515 |
