Sounds like the prize bubbles from the Race. Did you beat the race with time left on the clock? I'm not exactly sure how much time needs to be left...I usually finish with 3800 points or so left on the timer when the prize bubbles drop down.

If not then...Lol, I can't be sure =P

As long as you finish the race before the timer runs out the prize bubbles will fall.
Doing it with at least 4000 left on the clock to get the trophy is another matter, and one that I'm finding very frustrating.
There must be some method to it ,but I can't seem to find it.

I agree, that's really annoying. It's nigh on impossible alone. You need 2 players. That's the only way I could do it.

The part that takes all your time up is releasing the ships to get up to the anchor so have 1 player wait on top of the ship while the other releases them. Get to the next checkpoint as quick as possible and the player behind can then 'pop' to catch up.

Take note though you both have to get through the finish gate before the score goes below 4000. Good luck with that.

I found a way to do this a bit easily: Before using the sticker that makes the start gate go down, reach the checkpoint that's after those two crabs, then go back, start the race and pop yourself up.

As usual, I am one of the ones that find the dirty tricks

Ah very useful thank you. I have only tried this once, but no doubt this trick will help me greatly!

Another "dirty trick" (which it might be possible to combine with Shadowheaven's one) is to go ahead and release the two boats to let you get up to the anchor before going back to use the sticker to start the race. This also saves a bit of time. Not that I've got the trophy yet but at least it got me the prize bubbles!

I'm definitely going to try and put the two ideas together...

Try doing the race with 2 players, the part where you're supposed to launch the boats up, one goes on the boat the other breaks the rope. The one that had broken the rope does Try Again, and kills him/herself. The one on the boat will no continue to the checkpoint and the other person will come back, then it's up to you if you'll make it in time.
I succeeded the first time doing it with my brother.

Hmm, I don't know whether I'm doing something wrong here...

If I use the sticker to start the race normally, the end gate of the race appears where it should. However, if I use the 'trick' described above (i.e. setting off a checkpoint then going back to place the sticker and start the race), the end gate doesn't appear!

Anyone else get this?

When I activated the checkpoint after the boats you have to release no end gate appeared,,,if I released the boats and only have checkpoint before activated and it worked fine and was super easy to complete. This was a great little cheat!2010-01-03 15:46:00

This is how I got it. Actually, I think this is the intended way, the normal way seems impossible (or I'm just really bad ).

I did it alone, I didn't think doing it with more players would work. Same thing with that survival challenge trophy...

I finished the race with a score of 4200+ solo, without any tricks, and it was far from a perfect run.

There are a few places to save time:
- get through the first crabs during the first wave
- release only the 2nd boat
- nagivate the spiky boxes in a single wave. that final box before the checkpoint is slower than you think

I have done it on my 3rd try, its not hard at all.
Just need to time the start right and dont forget you release only the right boat, no need to release them both.

There are some nice walkthroughs on youtube if you are having trouble. Just look up HMS interceptor.

So have I

Anyway, I released the boats and came back, the end gate appered fine for me.

I think my clock when it ended was something like 4013, I remember getting it very close.

My advice is, other than letting the boats go before you start thr race, try and pick up every score bubble, apart from out-of-the-way ones, because score bubbles freeze the clock temporarily.

Actually, for those who found the race difficult, i finished it using this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEaXaOie5k4 . It still took me a few tries but then i finally did it with about 4100 on the clock. (very close, cause i died once at the sharks part.) I guess you basically just, run fast. =P LOL

edit: oops didnt see someone post it above.

I couldn't beat the race originally, so the second time I tried, I ran forward, released the ships, pushed the cart, etc BEFORE I even started. Then I ran back and began the race with all the stuff along the way already done. Finished with around 4600 points left lol.2010-06-27 23:48:00

I did the setting up the ships/cart trick, and beat it with around 6000 left

What I did was... I didn't collect any of the bubbles before starting the race. Since bubbles pause the timer, I avoided them to the ships and on the way back.

@Tyler
Lol smart move. I've never really cared too much about scoring points, at that point I only really wanted the trophy.
And I didn't know that bubbles paused the timer, I feel kinda stupid now lol.

You don't need to release both boats btw, just release the 1st one (the one close to the anchor) the other one doesn't matter.
This shouldn't take a lot of time, not more than a wave up and down.

Its not really bad if you go for extremes (when you think you won't make it but barely can)

You just have to know how when to start and how to time your movements and this should be a piece of cake!
Rememnber that things don't always have to be done "exactly" like they should.

EDIT: I just realized this was some really old thread that just got necro'd... -_-
