Water level wont rise where I want it too.

Archive: 6 posts

I'm making a level and is so close to be finished. But in my world, there always have to be a problem when getting close to finish.
I have a lot of water in my level that goes up and down. Now I have one last place to rise the water, but it won't. The water only rises a little when I walk passed the sensor and then sink back to the last water level it was on. Anybody have a idea on what I'm doing wrong?

Are you using a proximity switch? If so, its because the water will only rise when you are near the proximity switch, you need to use a perminant switch to keep the water height when you leave sensor range.

Thats as far as I recall from the Beta, I've never played with the switches for quite a while. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

Dont the water switches have their own proximity range?

Have you got the wave setting on? That might be messing with the level.

The water switch is actually a prox switch in itself. However as Grant points out, if you wish the water to remain at that new level, then a perm switch would be most handy.

If you are wanting it to change for the time within its range, you might want to check the level on the switch as well as how long the delay is set. If it is something like 5 seconds and it only takes one second to walk by, it will never complete its particular cycle and seemingly not rise as high as it is set.

Maybe when the water rises one of the switches in the level is activated (most likely a vertical 2-way switch)2009-12-30 17:57:00

Thanks for the help. I found out of it. I just put the last water switch to be active to one time only. And now for the decoration of the level. Thanks again.2009-12-30 18:09:00
