No Peg's IslandShris Pirate No Pegs needs help with his tasks, complete them and he'll let you use his ship. An open world level filled with treasure to explore. all This level is co-created with Lunieizsicc. This level has four tasks for you to complete. It's open world so you can complete in any order and at your own pace. There are task boards to show what needs to be done. Though they aren't direct so you must find them in order to complete them, but don't worry, there's clues. You must complete all tasks in order to use Pirate No Peg's ship. Townspeople (robots) throughout the level, be sure to listen to them, they may helpful! Signs are also placed throughout the level, read them if you're lost. Along with the tasks, there are 5 coins scattered about the island. These give score rewards at the end. This level features the new water and a day/night cycle with adjusting lights and various global effects. This level took much testing to get right. Though there may still be problems, if you find any, let me know. Be warned, this level seemed to have an average completion time of about 45min for most of our testers and friends. The pics look very nice and the description sounds awesome. I'm not quite the fan of open-world lbp levels, but I'll give it a go anyways. 45mins, you say? I'll take the challenge! btw, the art style of your buildings reminds me of geosautus' "scary factory" level | 2009-12-30 12:30:00 Author: Treas Posts: 223 |
Oh man! This looks good and sounds fun! I'll be playing! I love long levels! | 2009-12-30 14:07:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
I played this today. It's pure greatness ... really high quality level in every way. Warmly recommended. | 2009-12-30 14:14:00 Author: Unknown User |
Ah I wish I could play this. I love Shris' stuff... his architecture, layout, and art style are always so MM goodness, but moreso, and I love the open world levels and really enjoyed Booty Bay. | 2009-12-30 15:32:00 Author: Unknown User |
Thanks guys for all the nice comments | 2009-12-31 06:03:00 Author: Shris Posts: 126 |
I played this yesterday and I liked it! It took me about 25 minutes or so (in which I got the second highest score! ). It was very fun and nice to explore. It was also very eye-pleasing. I really liked what No Peg was saying on the way back to the boat. That was a nice touch!! Good gameplay, length, nice looking, and a little humor makes this a great level! Keep up the good work! :star::star::star::star::star: and a heart! | 2009-12-31 13:51:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |

Lol, thanks for that clark | 2010-01-01 02:34:00 Author: Shris Posts: 126 |
Great level. I loved the graphics and the gameplay was fun and I loved the ship part and shooting the seagulls. Also, any chance of Trash Attacks 2 | 2010-01-01 10:22:00 Author: Unknown User |
The level was gorgeous and fun to explore. I think I might have broke it though. You know the part with the cart you fill with the little gold pieces? You grab the red thing and it opens the little hatch in the ground, well before I found the cart I thought I was supposed to put the little gold piece in there before it closed. I succeeded, but when I found the cart and filled it, I couldn't proceed. Maybe I just couldn't figure it out. Either way, I'll be back to play again. | 2010-01-01 15:36:00 Author: TripleTremelo Posts: 490 |
Oh no, didn't think about that. I'll be fixing that right away and the little flipper thing is actually supposed to hold the cart in place. Thanks for letting me know. Oh, and WTA2 is coming. I just need more ideas, though it is started | 2010-01-01 20:07:00 Author: Shris Posts: 126 |
Just played it this morning. I'm a big fan of the open-world type gameplay... and this level didn't disappoint. Really cool design, well designed puzzles that didn't leave you lost. All around this was just a great game, and I really enjoyed walking over the finish line. One small thing I ran into - I went up to shoot the birds at the top of the ship and fell... BEHIND the ship where the captain is. I killed myself and went back up. I'm sure this wouldn't happen to too many people, because I was trying to get back on the ladder as I was falling and I think somehow I didn't plane shift forward again. Anyway, great game! Hearted! | 2010-01-02 16:25:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
This was a fantastic level. I just saw Ccubbage play and heart it earlier and then I fell on this thread and decided to play it. I am not deceived at all!! You created a nice "adventure" experience and in great visuals on top of that. I wish there was more levels like this, more freeroamers and adventures. I wish my Sack's In The City and Sack's On The Beach levels would have triggered some sort of trend but it didn't. Levels like yours here and mines are rare to find. I really like your task board too, I was wondering if you created the font yourself or used one from the community. If it's one from the community I would like to know the name of the level that gives it. Anyways, this level is as good as its get and since it's my favorite kind too... :star::star::star::star::star: + heart | 2010-01-02 17:18:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
Thanks guys The ladder's back steps are on the 3rd layer and boat only takes the first 2 so falling behind happens sometimes. I'll see what I can do, if anything because I would think sackboy should plane shift there. And the font is from a level I've forgotten the name of, however I think the creators name is LiteStep. | 2010-01-02 18:42:00 Author: Shris Posts: 126 |

In case it helps, I know exactly how it happens. The ladder that drops down... I think the bottom rung is in the back layer, so if you're falling down quickly enough and trying to fall on a rung of the ladder, you end up in the back layer - if you're falling fast enough sackboy doesn't have time to shift into the front layer while falling. | 2010-01-03 14:28:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |

By the way, I found a level with alot of fonts in called "The font vault" or something like that. Its easily found by searching "font" as keyword. He got the roma style font you use in there. . | 2010-01-03 16:21:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
Oh yeah, that's probably it. Don't know what I can do though, but it doesn't seem like a big problem as the door can still be opened to the boat. But still, it should be fixed. | 2010-01-04 05:01:00 Author: Shris Posts: 126 |
Just played this (saw it on Clarkdef's hearted pages) and was gobsmacked. Fantastic detail and varied gameplay. One of the most beautiful and rewarding levels I think I've ever played. The only question I have is, how did you fit it all in? Did MM re-write the code to allow you a larger thermo? This is a MUST PLAY. I bow to your creative genius. | 2010-01-06 19:39:00 Author: Frogmeister Posts: 236 |
Thanks I think we just used simple designs to allow it all to fit in the thermo. We actually used to have material made water (we didn't expect the water pack) throughout the level. That took a lot of thermo so once we deleted it all we got much more to work with. | 2010-01-06 21:06:00 Author: Shris Posts: 126 |
Wow, I had so much fun playing your level today. The visuals are first class - it was a genuine pleasure to explore each of the different sections of the level. I particularly liked the town with all its little houses with their robot inhabitants. Nice quirky characters too, with Captain No Pegs himself being the standout one. The puzzles are also really well designed and varied enough to keep you interested throughout the level. In fact there?s a lot to do and see at all times. This is just what an LBP level should be! 5 stars and hearted. | 2010-01-08 00:04:00 Author: shropshirelass Posts: 1455 |
Thanks guys And the font is from a level I've forgotten the name of, however I think the creators name is LiteStep. I think you mean Lite_Sleeper. I have lots of his fonts. He makes some great ones and a particularly useful small one called 'yoolah'. | 2010-01-09 02:36:00 Author: mistervista Posts: 2210 |
Oh yeah, thats's him, knew I'd get it wrong. I agree though, I use his all the time. | 2010-01-09 18:46:00 Author: Shris Posts: 126 |
Just got to play this and it's awesome! Loved the landscape and the whole thing is like a puzzle to figure out. Your captain is hilarious.... and then you make him move halfway across the level - amazing! 5 stars and hearted. Loved it. Deserves way more plays! | 2010-01-18 02:08:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
I love this level! I haven't played many open world levels like this, but this takes the cake! Very adventurous with fun and loving characters I even recorded a couple vids for ya. Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqHFJ7MmvNA&feature=response_watch Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJuime686SY | 2010-01-18 04:11:00 Author: GreyMRP Posts: 588 |

Will definitely play. I want to see what my competition is like.... | 2010-01-18 22:13:00 Author: KQuinn94Z Posts: 1758 |
So I'm making my way through all the spotlights in episode 31, in no particular order, and I come across this one......... WOW! This is by far my favorite level out of all the spotlights! The detail is astonishing. The humor/quirkiness of it all works brilliantly. I didn't run into any glitches, so you both have done your homework! The best part was the under water puzzle that takes you back up to the surface... just wow... I don't know what else to say, other than I'm about to play this again - right now! 5 Stars and a heart - I'll make sure you get a creator heart from me as well | 2010-01-28 00:01:00 Author: Powershifter Posts: 668 |
I also played it. This level is a work of art! The robots, the design, everything! I laughed at Captain No Pegs when he went down the stairs! Also for some reason, I nicknamed the crab on the beach "Giant Enemy Crab". Although he didn't have a weakspot I could attack for massive damage. I also had trouble with No Peg's ship after shooting the birds (fell behind the ship). I had little trouble getting back on, but I managed it. I aced the level, but I missed one coin. A heart from me and :star::star::star::star::star:. | 2010-01-31 21:14:00 Author: Beed28 Posts: 200 |
Thanks you guys There were a lot of great levels in that spotlight Power, so that means a lot. We did have a lot of little bugs that we had to fix, but you can mostly thank my partner for that . | 2010-02-03 23:42:00 Author: Shris Posts: 126 |
Wow, had to dig deep for this thread. Just wanted to let you know I really enjoyed this level. I like that you can perform your tasks in any order, which means you can go where you like and explore. Jolly atmosphere, variety, it's all very well done. So, you got my vote, good luck! | 2010-03-04 22:24:00 Author: Rogar Posts: 2284 |
After being frustrated not finding any hints as to where gold was - I looked at the youtube video walkthrough and realised it was the overly dark shape i mistook for more rocks - however drained the water and one the gold pieces was on ground so i couldn't get it in the wagon - don't know if this happened with previous water up and down having done underwater city first. So now since i can't figure a way to refill water so i can float and do it and start again - so im a bit peeved. | 2010-07-01 05:05:00 Author: Unknown User |
Very good level! I gave 5* and I hearted it! I loved the concept and the design, and the story. I would be very pleased if you made a sequel cause this level was just brilliant! | 2010-11-14 20:45:00 Author: Unknown User |
