"The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" visualization

Archive: 7 posts

For my English Literature and Composition class, I was required to make a visualization of parts of the poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner. (here (http://www.online-literature.com/coleridge/646/) is the poem if you want to read it, so the rest of this makes sense, or here (http://www.sparknotes.com/poetry/coleridge/section1.rhtml) is the summary if you don't feel like reading it)

For the assignment, I had to create an image for stanzas from the poem, and tell which stanza and what was being shown.

So here it is. I turned to the awesome art of stick figures for lack of time, as I procrastinated and did it an hour before it was to be turned in. (creative license used in multiple instances, and yes, I did hurry so my handwriting is atrocious lol)

Apparently my teacher thought that it was hilarious, and gave me bonus points for effort. Go figure.

Hahaha yeah I was thinking about doing an Iron Maiden reference, but I'm pretty sure my teacher wouldn't get it. Too bad, as the song sums it up quite perfectly.2009-12-29 19:36:00

Yes, the contemptuous wails of Dickinson really epitomize the beauty and power within the Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner.

Did you have to do ten stanzas, or was that optional? Nice summary, nevertheless.

We were told to do ten stanzas, I would have done more if I was a good student and didn't finish it shortly before class started 2010-01-03 17:38:00

Haha! Good work! I am surprised that you could whittle it down to 10 stanzas. You need to pack a lunch (and perhaps a sleeping bag) when reading that poem! I was hoping you were going to say you'd done some LBP vignettes for the stanzas.. oh well...2010-01-06 09:21:00
