US public betas are up, but that's the only betas that I know of. So... who in it?

Oh, and oldage, I think you want to check your Christmas tree right now (I know, Christmas is over, but still...).

I still haven't worked out what the hype for this game is all about... I mean the developers don't even care about the project enough to give it a name - that's indicator enough for me to make a rash and uninformed judgement 2009-12-28 20:33:00

Whats wrong with the name? I think it's very creative! Nah jokes the name is pretty um... what's the word? non-creative.

The name I can agree is dull. MAG, what was that? Massive Action Game is just lazy. Now Modern Warfare is creative, because it describes the game: war on civilization. MAG just describes the game in boring words. Maybe Warzone or something.2009-12-28 21:01:00

I agree. Calling a game about war in the modern times "Modern Warfare" is much more creative than calling it "Massive Action Game."

That's just like how calling chocolate-flavored pudding "Chocolate Pudding" is much more creative than "Brown Snack".

In my opinion, "Warzone" is way lazier. Do you know what a "creative" name would be for a war game? Baby Pooders McRaw Dog and the Boy Named Rick Rock. But that wouldn't sell because that name is ***-backwards as ****.

Well coming up with a name for a game you never played is hard. :/

All I'm saying is MAG needs another name, if possible.

Well, it's in modern times right? And it's a war, right? We could call it: War Now! That's so original!

MAG is fine, it's an abbreviation for "magazine" just as much as it is an acronym for "Massive Action Game". That's why I think they named it that in the first place.

I think the name is fine. In fact, it is so fine that you can make words with it.

Take into example the following scenario; It was a full 256-player game and the whole battlefield was alight with bombs, bullets, and other things. I said to my allies, "This is total madness."

One of my friends promptly replied, "No. This is MAGness."

It was enlightening.

Same here! Server keeps crashing on me. For a game that promises 256 player battles, which by the way require some hefty servers, they certainly aren't showing their servers are up for it!

Dare I risk buying the game and end up with lack of decent server support?

Finally got in and wow are there alot of people on now each faction has around 6000+ players so q time is 0. The problem remains at least with my ravens were everyone is afraid of dieing for some reason and just snipe. My first game I got over 300 points over 100 more than anyother player on the team and all i did was run to objectives and kill all the noobs sitting in the same spot, like fish in a barrel. Jumped from level 1 to 4 in the first game.

I still wish people would work as a team because when they do its when the game really shines. Otherwise its very painful and frustrating to play.

Hope all ya have fun playing though.

I was pleasantly surprised by the beta. I was a bit worried when i saw they included a knife in the game but people are actually keeping distance from the enemy and don't charge in unless they have to.

I'm sniping with SVER and I was quite chuffed when i killed someone coming down in a parachute.

One thing that is slightly confusing is why i can put a handle on my sniper rifle, I would've thought it would make it harder to aim not easier

You know when I first saw the game awhile back I really liked raven because of the techy kind of look so when i got into the first beta I joined them first and loved it then at some point they locked raven so I joined Valor for a bit. So I have never touched sver so have no idea about them but am worried about the guns. I love the sights and accuracy that raven has, though they have fixed the overpower of the guns that we used to have too. If I do switch Ill let you know Im just hopping raven improves a bit.

I think they called it that because it rhymes with 'Lag'

I actually haven't had any lag related issues just the servers not being on or letting you log on though that's all fixed now. Still one of my little pet peeves is that you cant cancel the reload animation to do a quick knife jab. I understand that they don't want everyone just running around knifing people but its crazy stupid having to run in front of someone waiting for the reload action to finish to be able to get the knife out. I would like a cancel action button that would cancel the current action and let you do whatever you want.

I am enjoying myself though and for me its constant action so i never feel like I'm wasting time, though walking sometimes from spawn points can feel like a pain it makes it so its not a huge frag bunch when the 2 sides meet in the middle. If you go over to IGN they did a quick preview of it and tour it apart for some reason but whatever. They only played quick rounds for like 20mins and didn't really try to give it the time needed.

no realy the guns aren't bad at all, i know they stick together with tape but its not that they shoot different than others.:kz: the look is different than the others but i think they look even more awsome than the rest if you wanne ask me something about S.V.E.R you may.:hero:
i have try'd Valor and S.V.E.R and one thing i saw was that there are little less snipers at S.V.E.R

i didnt played the beta alot yet so im not that high in raking, 10 i think now? but atleased i can revive people now if they are bleeding out. and thats awsome and last time i got a weird kill a knife headshot

In the earlier betas server issues were almost nonexistent.

I'm able to gain a level a battle just by having improved sprint and running around and healing everyone, occasionally gunning someone down with my pistol. Just earlier me and some guy snuck around the entire base through the bushes, taking like 10 people out using silencers and the knife.

I've been having a lot of fun with this. Much improved from the earlier stages.

I really hope a headset is bundled with the game. Then people will have no excuse! It's so much more enjoyable when people use them and work together.

It wasn't that good. The directions weren't very clear, the graphics on the smaller maps left a lot to be desired (KZ2 had the same amount of people, but looks 3x sharper. So, you didn't miss out on much.

The MNR, beta, on the otherhand, was great! I'm sad I was only able to play it for four days.

I wish my PS3 didn't break down. This year the PS3 has it made for top selling console for '10. I mean just look at the games: ModNation Racers, God of War III, Heavy Rain, and more! God I wish my PS3 didn't die. 2010-01-16 03:35:00

I highly doubt it. Most games, whenever they hit public beta, are at least 80% polished. However, this feels more like 60%. Visually, it needs more polish on the levels with only 32 players. it would be understandable if i could have accessed the 256 player mode, however, the beta was not clear with how i would accomplish this task. Siimply because of that, I already feel its broken. The action is also not team oriented in the beginning at all, not really. so, meh. if this beta is any invitation, i'll pass for now. unless it pulls a killzone2 turnaround, it won't be worth it.

See, I really liked MAG. Sure, the people are dumb, but anyone who's competent at first person shooters will like this one. Assemble a good team of friends with mics and you'll find yourself doing well.2010-01-19 02:46:00

I pretty sure the smallest battle was 64 players (32vs32) what mode were you in. I hear you on the directions though they really needed to make it more clear that you needed to get to level 10 before you could play the big battles. This phase of the beta I didn't even get to level 10 so I couldn't play the big battles which stunk. I hope when the game comes out there training mission is clear on all the things you can do because there is plenty.
