Creation Queries!!

Archive: 14 posts

Hi I have just started creating and had a few queries.

- How can u make a slab of material( rock, metal, wood, etc besides the green dissolve material) disappear or dissolve. I know how dissolve material works btw.

- How to change the colour of paint mines always blue from the paint gun and have seen many other paint colours when they use it with emitter.

-Fire candles or Cave torches how to get the flame which aint flammable aka burn the sack person.

Apologise if my queries are noobish.Thanx

1) You can put a protected but vulnerable brain on it and trigger it to die, then the material dissolves.

2) Capture it. Change your player color, use the Paintinator, pause and capture the paint.

3) Get the cursor, select the flame from the candle, copy. Voila.

It's not noobish at all, it's better to ask, trust me.

Regarding the paint one again, the different popit colors determine what type of paint you shoot. Red shoots a pinkish red, blue shoots blue, etc etc. The black popit (which guest players sometimes get) shoots out a variety of colors.2009-12-27 21:00:00

For number one you can also use demitters which was conceived by our very own rtm. https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=118612009-12-27 23:05:00

Nope... just those 8. The "key" to this (pardon the pun) is to insure the range is only what you need. For example.. check out the switches from the LBPC logic pack. You will find for the most part, only aqua is used and can be really close to another switch without messing with each other due to the angle and the size of the switch range.

Thx jww. Also how can u make a piston pushing a block of wood, not go back, i mean what is the option under piston "Backwards" used for. Also what does "Speed" do?

Well you could set the piston to direction so that it moves outward instead of inward and speed is what it says "speed" it adjusts how fast the piston moves from minimum to maximum, as for the backwards setting, im not sure bc i dont understand it at all either, hope that helps at all

The backwards setting simply reverses the way a piston moves. If you attach a mag switch, set to direction, to a piston, it'll move in or out depending on the mag switch settings (inverted/not inverted). If you attach 2 pistons to the mag switch, you can make one move in and the other move out by simply setting one piston to backwards. It just saves having to use one switch per piston.2010-01-05 15:40:00

I recently came across a LBL fairytale contest level made by a dude called horiiiiii. The emitter techniques used in that level is something that I would really like to know. Be it the last scene when the clock strikes 12 the whole castle disappears and you find yourself on a book and the scoreboard rises from back how does it all work?? that effect is not just dissolve material dissolving. Then when u get a light object close to a wooden house it sets that house on fire..how?? How are fireworks made in that level?? The light effect from the wand... how? Also when u gotta digout a pig from a wooden log....I know how pieces n parts of it dissolve but if u notice wooden flakes emitt whenever u dissolve a particular wooden part..hows that possible...does it mean he has placed an emitter on every wooden part? If i can understand how this level is made i think i can understand alot about emitters.

Rtm's demitter( what is demitting exactly) tutorial also is hard to figure out aka how does it reset the whole room, is that emitting the whole room?
Also emitting objects someplace else..when do u exactly use that funcionality? I mean if u running on a stone platform and u emit it someplace else so basically u fall from that platform?? Is that the only funciontality of emitting stuff someplace else? Or are there any other cool effects it does I would really like to know.

Very mixed thoughts in this post and I apologise for so many questions but i just wanna understand this Emitter tool once n for all in simple words I believe u gotta know ur tools, stickers first. And only then the fight is about creativity,design,visuals...come to think of it using emitters in different ways is also creativity hmmm..... ZOMG I AM ALREADY FAIL....

He's right, a demitter is the best solution here. Search for rtm223's levels and you'll find one. If you can't figure how to use it, just ask him. I'm sure he'll be happy to help.
