A couple questions on my first level
Archive: 6 posts
Hey everyone, I'm new here and I'm creating my first level, hoping to have it done before the holiday break is over. Anyhow, I've been searching the threads and havent found any answers regarding how to make a launch pad (I'm trying to launch a cardboard circle across a flat surface with sackboy inside- my cheap time machine) and how to change the lighting in the middle of the level. (I'd like to cut to black) Also I'm using the metropolis background, but I would like the level to have a grass looking ground midway through, and I've applied grass sponge to the floor but when walking you can still see that ugly cement from the front. Any ideas and help is greatly appreciated! | 2009-12-27 14:42:00 Author: Jadzia Posts: 2 |
can you ask for a more specific problem? what is that you can't figure out? | 2009-12-27 15:33:00 Author: POLLOePILLA Posts: 47 |
How do you make a springboard/ lauch pad? How do you change the lighting in the middle of the level (fade to black- is it gas?) Can you change the background mid-level? | 2009-12-27 17:22:00 Author: Jadzia Posts: 2 |
How do you make a springboard/ lauch pad? How do you change the lighting in the middle of the level (fade to black- is it gas?) Can you change the background mid-level? You can't change the background mid-level. You can change the lighting by using the lighting tool (little planet looking switch). The player could walk into the range of a proxi switch that would be linked to that lighting tool therefore activating it, therefore changing the lighting in the level. . | 2009-12-27 18:13:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
The global lighting tool RS explained can be obtained in the creator pack 1 which is available in the story section. Placing it in Sackboy's path should be sufficient because the GLT is a proxy switch itself. For a launchpad use a peace of material and connect it to something that stays in place(dark matter or glued down material) via a stiff piston. Then turn the flipper motion of the piston on and activate it with a "one shot" switch. Turning on the switch should catapult your thingy. | 2009-12-27 22:55:00 Author: Vanemiera Posts: 329 |
To change the background you could put a 2-D peice (Spelling sorry) of a material in the back layer and can stick any stickers on it to design your very own background. Or if you really want a challenge try using bakscrathes glitch! | 2009-12-27 23:27:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |
