Well, I have no idea if this has ever been suggested before or not, it may well have been. But quite simply, I think that a 5-star rating system simply isn't enough in this day and age to separate the good levels from the great levels. There can be a big difference between a 4 star level and a 5 star level, so imo the community should either be able to utilize half stars, or the level ratings should be on a scale of 1 to 10. Either works ^^ This would also give people a better idea of which levels are really the best of the bunch are which are a little more average. I think it would make a great addition, even if not entirely necessary. What do you think?

Yup, I think pretty much everyone agrees. If LBP collects and saves the ratings as the actual average and is merely rounded to a whole number for us to see then it obviously would be viable from a technical point of view. It could kick up a lot of fuss for the first few months, people deleting and republishing their old levels to see how the new rating systems treats them for example... It would create a lot side issues as a result, but I think in the long run it would probably be worth it. (Much in the same way as the chaos that water has created at the moment will be worth it when everything settles down.) Whether Mm would be up for creating all the mayhem over something that isn't 'broken' is another story

I don't agree.... Levels are pieces of art and should never have ratings, at all, or opinionated tags. Without getting rid of those, "REAL WATER" levels will always have five (or ten) stars for the rest of time, while good levels that require effort to complete will get downrated and pushed off cool levels by spam and bomb survivals.

Thing is there are already millions of levels that have been rated with the normal 5 star rating system so how would they change that? they couldn't just get rid of all the level ratings... or could they? Actually that might be good to start over with the ratings give some other levels a chance at the highest rated spot...

I don't know if a level's listed rating is just the mathematical average, but maybe some sort of weighted average would be more useful. Like doubling the weight of the most common rating or something. I don't mind the 5-star rating system because it's supposed to give a general idea of how popular a level is among everyone who's played it.
