Colours on Materials w/o Stickers?

Archive: 11 posts

Hi, I was curious as to if it is possible to change a materials color completely, (not textures) without using stickers. It's not important, as I suck at making levels, and will probably never publish one, but I would like this just to make my level look a bit nicer. By the way, I have almost no textures at all, since I'm stuck at the first level in the desert place. Well that stuff isnt important, but just wondering.2009-12-26 23:04:00

There isn't a real way to completely change the color of a material without using stickers. That said - you can use lighting to change it a bit. Try using led's and spotlights. Just experiment with it and you can get some neat effects.2009-12-26 23:41:00

I would, if I understood how to really use anything in Create Mode. Oh, well.2009-12-27 00:18:00

Just play around with stuff in create mode. It's the best way to learn how stuff works. You might also want to check out some of the tutorial and help threads on the site too.2009-12-27 15:18:00

Whats wrong with stickers? If you were to publish the level people won't rate lower because you used stickers, thats what there for.2009-12-27 23:24:00

Not really a problem anymore, but I just don't like them, they're really annoying.

Thermometer.

Use the lighting tint at the global settings in tools. Though it changes the color of the whole level.

Actually, this makes a nice effect. Thanks.

Don't be your nickname and simply practice in create mode. Have fun, take it easy. You can only get better with time and practice.

That's all I've been doing. I've only played about an hour of Story mode and community levels.

Ehehee......the first....month(?) of littleBigPlanet after release was me playing in create mode. I have yet to create anything that is really worthwhile.

That said, you seem to be looking at this the wrong way.

LittleBigPlanet = Tinkertoy + a huge bucket of Lego + Cello tape.

Now, only one of those things are actually useful, but they are all fun to play with.Yarr....
