PS3 Hard Disk Size
Archive: 9 posts
I have one of the phat PS3s which I share with my brother but as we get more and more games it's harder to keep all the game data on the PS3. We started by deleting demos but now it's just not enough. If I did delete game data would it affect anything apart from having to install it all again? Also is there anyway to just increase the Hard Disk size? (I have a 60gb model...the one that was in the middle in terms of memory and had the most connections as well as PS2 compatibility). I may just buy a PS3 Slim (250gb standard right?) but I want to save up for a trip to Canada... Guess I'll have to see what my next payslip says. | 2009-12-26 21:17:00 Author: adlingtont Posts: 321 |
You can just buy a new HDD, slide the current one out of the PS3 and slot the new one in. It's probably not that easy though, I've never done it | 2009-12-26 21:19:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |

Just buy a new hard drive, you can get big ones pretty cheap online. Just slide the Hard Drive bracket out, unscrew it, lift out the old hard drive, slide in the new one, put all the screws back on and slide it back in, you may also want to back up your data. | 2009-12-26 21:34:00 Author: creelers Posts: 275 |
It's probably not that easy though, I've never done it It's actually very easy. Once you get this blue screw out it's a piece of cake (it's screwed in insanely tight). Sony even tells you how! (http://playstation.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/362) (what I used to upgrade to my 300GB HDD) | 2009-12-26 22:01:00 Author: ChristmasJew Posts: 431 |

Special-Sony-rip-the-pennies-from-your-pocket brand? I have a portable USB hard drive in my room... In an ideal world I could just use that... You can't just plug an external Hard Drive, because our games data are installed and not only downloaded like songs, pictures videos,etc... I bought myself another Hard Drive because mines was getting full. You can truly find a pretty good HD by spending less of 70$. I hope this helped you | 2009-12-26 22:22:00 Author: Chump Posts: 1712 |
