I have water, but I didn't buy the pack!

Archive: 16 posts

Ever since Tuesday, my sis and I have been creating/destroying levels with our friends who have purchased the Pirates of the Carribean kit. Yesterday, at about 9:04 PM, we were host with one of our friends who has the water pack (RUSHSTAR1). My sister went to change the background and noticed that the menu option of "Water Level" was available as a choice. More searching showed that we had all of the global tools for the water. On Tuesday, we had helped our friends get some of the last items in the POTC levels, so we may have somehow picked up the water. But we don't have scuba gear, bubble machines, or that switch that changes the water's quality.
Basically, we didn't buy the pack, but somehow we have water. How the heck could this happen?

Woah. So, when you go into create mode on your own, do you have the water settings underneath where the lighting settings are?2009-12-24 18:18:00

Yup. It's underneath the lighting settings. My sister just published a level with it, called "My First Water Park" by JohnnyXman, even though we should've just kept it in the dark that we have it until there are answers.2009-12-24 18:20:00

That is possible. I mean, online create just came out a few weeks ago, so you can't expect it just to be perfect and glitch-free. Same with the water.
Speaking of water, did you know that if you dunk a flaming object into the water, it stops burning? More realistic LBP physics!

Oh i know, its great isnt it

I was hoping that if you dropped electricity into it, the water would become electric-y

Hmm. And I thought I was the only one who knew this.

Anyway, I think this is a serious problem. Just think. Remember how so many people made levels about the layer glitch? Imagine if that happens with this. I bet a LOT of people wouldn't buy the PotC Pack if they could get free water.

Anyways, I actually expected this. How would they put a DLC lock, as I call the 'you must have this pack to use this' thingy, on 4 or 5 global tools? So if I were you, I'd report this to Mm. But the again, that's just my opinion.

That doesn't make sense, you get the water tool by playing the tutorials, not the actual levels. I don't see how that could happen.2009-12-26 02:36:00

Wrong. You play Port Royal, you get an object as soon as you appear. That's the water.2009-12-26 02:51:00

Nothing happened.
Keep it to yourself.

Then THEY will find you...

My sister and I got some money together, so we'll serve justice and buy the pack so it doesn't look like we "stole" the water.2009-12-27 22:40:00

I don't think that this is a problem. Just giving player the opportunity to add a permanent amount of water to their level but keeping them from using the other water related items seems fair and could motivate them to buy the full pack. Maybe this was made on purpose to give the players a kind of "demo".2009-12-27 23:02:00
