Bounty Hunter: The Flood

Bounty Hunter: The FloodLieutenantFatman
The level starts with a quick chase on a battle bus with some rather unique music (not created by me). You chase a mad professor of course.

Later on you deal with some water and a relatively easy boss battle. I haven't tested this with multiple players yet, it was designed with one in mind, but should be alright with some company.

This level has taken me months to make, please give it a look! It shouldn't take long to complete, I've tried to make it short and sweet. Please let me know of any improvements you think it needs.

The moving start is something I won't be able to change though. I look forward to playing some more of your levels as well!

Merry Christmas to you all.

Is F4F "friend for friend"?

Nope, it means, if you give me feedback for my level, telling me what's good and bad about it, I shall do the same for one of your levels, generally one that you've specified.

Pros:
+ Great music at the start. What's the song called?
+ Nice humor (Oh great! Elevator music.)
+ The part with raising the water level was pretty cool

Cons:
- Getting to the switch that made the water elevate was pretty difficult (You probably made it that way though)
- It was pretty short

Overall, :star::star::star::star:, tagged it as Short, and hearted it and you.

F4F is A Christmas Level in my sig.

Music during chase was good. Part of it sounded like the theme from FFIII. Elevator music was amusing and well placed.

The visuals seemed a little random in a steampunk world kinda way, but that could have been exactly what you were going for.

The boss design was pretty cool, but it seemed that once you flooded the level he didn?t seem to be a threat.

Suggestions:

1) you have a lot of good water control overall ? however, the first time I played I thought when it said to look for a jetpack back on the battle bus that it meant the green vehicle you left behind. I went back for it to look, and it lowered the water level preventing me from being able to get to the elevator halfway up the shaft.

2) Increase boss difficulty ? change flame emitter to electric so it stays dangerous after flood. Add movement to base unit of the boss to make him (and his brains) a moving target.

3) Not sure if it was intentional, but the magnetic switch on the door and the key on the bad guy are visible. I would make them invisible ? just for aesthetics. You already have the door state that you need to bring the bad guy to the door to get to the exit, so showing the key doesn?t seem required.

4) Add some more ambiance and detail to the level through stickers, decorations, and/or thin layers in the foreground and background.

PS ? Thanks for the feedback on my level.

Thanks! Lots of good advice, and all pretty easy to implement.
The magnetic switch showing was intentional but you make a good point, I'll hide that.

I'll consider the electric idea, but don't wish to make it too difficult. Thanks again for the comments!
Oh and correct on the music being Final Fantasy. I copied it but I do not know who the original creater is, so unfortunately can not credit them.

Right, time to make some improvements!
edit: improvements implemented! The boss now throws out an additional electrical attack when the area is flooded via the switch. Jetpack more obvious, extra detail later in the level and magnetic switch is hidden.

LONG LONG LONG ago, I made a really quick lame level, and you commented on it, so I remembered today to find your level and play it back...

I REALLY loved the piano music you had playing during the starting chase seen, it was great... now I'm jealous and want to make my own song...

It did get confusing at times though, like, the level threw me right into the car and I didn't expect it, so jumped out and died :$
Also, the jetpack area felt a bit unguided, I didn't know where to go, but I found it... Great level, 5 Star'd
