Submarine Sabotage [From the Water Beta]wexfordian, Fullgorr and Jaeyden

all
This baby is the lovechild of the beautiful union of wexfordian, Fullgorr and Jaeyden.

Video supplied by the awesome jkthree

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5f_hftbuMes

We spend a crazy amount of time putting this together and I really think you guys will enjoy this one.

About average difficulty. Your in a submarine thats flooding fast and to make matters worse theres an evil dude following you trying to finish you off.

You have no hope.... only a chance at redemption.

Can you take revenge on your enemy?

The real question: Can we fight all off all the levels called "OMG WATER" and "WHEN WATER DROPS" that will soon populate cool levels? 2009-12-23 22:01:00

Oh man I'm overwhelmed with all of the beta levels coming from all of these top-level creators! Here's another one I have to play!

By the way, I'm going to have to play your level too, kappa!

Lol, thanks piggabling. Mine's not a serious level like this one is, though. A lot of creators made full on levels in the beta, and this is one of them. I think you'll enjoy Submarine Sabotage. ^_^2009-12-23 22:07:00

your what asploded? Your car? Your cat? Your PS3?

Played this level a little bit ago, AMAZING stuff wex, Fullgorr and Jaeyden. I'm glad to see that all your hard work wasn't put to waste, because this was an awesome level from start to finish! Great use of water, and most certainly deserving of a 5 and heart.

Well, we got up to the part where you recieve the scuba gear, and the sub flipped over and we were stuck. The water also lowers and rises at wrong times. But like I said, it's probably when you have more than one person.

I played this a while back on the Beta and I think it's definitely the best water level. Can I say it kicks the PotC levels' ***? Just because of the awesome ideas these 3 came up with. Genius!

Awesome!

I played this back in the beta and it's a masterpiece..altrough I died in the big ocean part, respawned and had no idea where to go after that since the whole thing had flipped over.

I ended up going in the wrong direction

But yeah it's brilliant stuff! It's so exciting all the awesomeness from the beta can come into the real game 8D

Epic level. Brilliant!

I like how one of the comments on the level asks to make the level copyable, because the person would "love to have it on my moon".
I hope you aren't gullible enough to believe that.

It seems to be rising steadily through the pages. Those "real water" levels better move out of the way!

Not being in the beta I am still really new to the whole water 'mechanic'.

This level is amazing. An even more so because I really didn't enjoy the first... i'd say third to nearly half. I constantly felt perplexed and uncertain I was proceeding correctly. At first water levels seemed to be raising and lowering at will... not sure I even actually completed the tasks I needed to in order to escape... It felt like the level was pushing me along completely independent of my own will...

A little before the camera starts to pitch and yaw I really started to feel as if I had gained control... short-lived as it was. Very cinematic, kept looking for the guy holding the steady-cam... and that character, I'll call him 'bad guy' worth the price of admission alone.

So alittle bit of a mixed bag for me... not sure I even liked the way you guys chose to 'do or not do' the intro... makes perfect sense mind you... but again it was an awkward moment, do I have to hit the circle button? c'mon? Yeah, er No...whoops hmmm.

And in the end this level was so daring and groundbreaking -- I am honoured to have played it so Thank You boys! A few new 'high water marks' achieved.

edit:And whoever worked out the three planes of movements due to the key that was sheer brilliance and very nice looking as well... in fact you solved a potential problem I've been thinking about... so thanks again!

Excellent level this one. Good flow, challenging and fun at the same time. Your lighting effects particularly with the explosions underwater were a sight to behold. My mouth gaped open at first sight of ?em and took a mouthful of water! Lol, I blacked out and drowned a couple times trying to lodge those floaties into the designated spots. At the end, when you board the rocket? are you supposed to die in order to reach the scoreboard?

Top-notch level Wex, Jaey, and Fullgorr. Nothing less expected from all of you of course. 5 starred and hearted. I can?t wait to try this with multiplayers ? should be a whole lotta fun!

That was so fun and awe-inspiring that I played it 6 times. Not kidding. If this is what the future of levels is going to be because of water, LBP just got a lot better. Sure, we knew it was probably going to be better when water came out, but if creators can make use of it as well as it is in this level, then reports of minds being blown shall increase in frequency. The ending was unexpected, but quite cool. Too bad you have to die, but hey, how often is there a 1-sackperson capacity torpedo just waiting for somebody to get in? You can't pass that up! And the guy's face in the intro and at the end was great. I personally found it hilarious. 2009-12-24 14:51:00

I played this and it was FANTASTIC! Every part of the level was well-designed and very fun. I loved the sense of vertigo you'd get when the sub was tipping and being blown apart! Haha! Pretty sweet!

I love all of this collab, water epicness!

I would expect no less than EPIC when the likes of Fullgorr, Jaeyden and wexfordian join forces to make a level, but this level is truly astounding. I lived the level, it stressed me out, and by the time I got to the scoreboard, I was so disappointed...that it ended. Just completely awestruck by this. A super fantabulous level gifted to the community from a group of super fantabulous creators. Thanks guys!2009-12-26 20:22:00

I played this several times in the Beta and loved every second of it.

Played it again a few days ago and while posting here the server went offline.. so please excuse the late post!

Incredible doesn't describe this one. Really cool water puzzles as well as fantastic use of water to platform in as well as incredible techy sub scenery to delight you all while attempting not to die.

50 stars and 20 hearts. though it only registered 5 stars and 1 heart.

It's just as awesome and epic as I remember from the beta. Seriously the three of you on a level together is a dream team and the results show it. Very fun, challenging and the cinematics are great.

I hope you guys work together again!

I'm sorry if I'm not being very specific, but at the part where the MGS rockets exploded there was text that then kept on flashing on and off for the rest of the level.

Also, when the submarine (or it's escape pod, I don't remember) starts falling for ten or so seconds, you get sucked up unless you stick yourself under a ceiling, wjich is really annoying.

Nonetheless, 5 stars and a heart, and the best water level yet in my opinion. (Including the MM ones )

I had the chance of playing this the other day and absolutely loved it, the puzzles and gameplay elements were just really well made and so original. The level's visuals also delivered big time, I actually think you even did a better job in introducing water than MM did with the Pirate levels. And who's idea was it to use the "Toy Car Exhaust" decoration the way it was placed? It was absolute genius! I remember when I first saw it I was like "what the hell is that?" I first thought it was some new decoration but I when I grabbed it I was shocked to find out what decoration it truly was. The only thing I didn't like about the level was the end in the Heaven scene, I thought it was pretty ugly and just didn't care for it at all. Still the rest of the level was too epic for me not to give it 5 Stars and of course a Heart. 2009-12-30 01:56:00

Good work but for my taste to dark. But I like the water puzzles and in view of the other water levels on cool levels page 1 it's good to see a really "cool" water level.

I just played this on my lunch break. Found it on Page 1 of the Cool Levels and saw Wex's name on it, so I knew I had to try it. Being it was from the "Beta" I guess I expected something a bit half-baked... sort of experimental. Boy was I surprised!

This was just brilliant, guys! The gameplay and pacing were near-perfect. The lighting and visuals were stunning. The path was clear throughout and the water actually lent to the storyline rather than being the storyline. I have not played a great many water levels as yet, and was not in the Beta, but this is the best of them that I have seen to date. Really, it's one of the best levels period - with or without water - that I've played on LBP.

Fantastic job, gents! Keep up the great work!

Great level, probably the best of water and co-create ive seen yet

Pros: (start to finish)
- Great antagonist design
- Great visuals all around
- Innovative puzzles
- Superb effects
- more than one scene (sub inside and ocean floor)
- Smart ending

Cons:
- some paths weren't made very clear to the player
- Enemy sub looked like the first sub with junk stickied to it =/
- the "suicide missile" looked a tad rushed (like 3 triangles and a rectangle glued together)
- antagonist blows up and i still...there...moving his mouth...lol
- heaven scene was ugly but i guess there was'nt any other way to go after that, well one other but uh, that would not be fitting O_O'.

Great level, just minor nit picks, :star::star::star::star::star: and a well deserved heart

Finally played your level tonight Wex and I think it's really good. Well, tks to everyone involved in it too anyways like Jeayden. Sorry for me not remembering everyone maybe.

I think you guys made a polished and exciting level full of action. I love when parts of the submarine moves and one of the first parts of the level is my favorite: You know, that place where you need to pass 3 yellow things through holes in the wall and place them in their alcove. This was genuinely fun for some reason.

Keep up the good work guys

I'm really lagging behind on the comments Wex, Jaeyden and Fullgorr, I've a lot to catch up on, so my apologies.

Only joking, i played it cause it was fantastic, and it still is. I think this is probably the second best level from the Beta , and definitely the best water level in LBP so far. Its a whole load of awesome, from the superb starting cutscenes to the rotating, then kamikaze finish.

***** and hearted.

level was epic man! i just noticed something funny in it though.someone made a typo by the 4 mgs missles. it spells expieriencing instead of experiencing. lol, i barely just noticed it after playing it 3 times. altogether it was a really good water level. beats all those fast and unplanned water levels with names like (REAL WATER) and (BOMBS WITH REAL WATER) it definitely got a 5 star from me and a heart. no ? about it. u guys rocked it wex, fullgorr, and j. hope to c a level from u guys again in the future!2010-01-23 00:18:00

I'm guessing that paperback is a whole lot less exciting than this level, then!

Seriously, we all make little typos in speech bubbles. They can be excused, but typos in paperback books are a different matter.

Played this a week or so back and was blown away. Up to this point its most definitely one of the pioneering water levels of little big planet. The simple yet elegant design to the mixture of puzzle elements aid in making this one of the premier levels to showcase what you can really do with water.2010-01-23 07:22:00
