Omg this has water in it best level evar

Ever since the POTC pack was released I've seen a dip in the quality of levels on Cool Pages. That's right, they've gotten even crappier.

It seems now that all you have to do is make a pool of water, add some fish and a dark matter slide and you are instantly rewarded with 5 stars, thousands of plays and hearts, like it's a masterpiece that took months of hard work and dedication. It's been getting really annoying now seeing the exact same copyable leaked water level being posted over and over and over again. And now all of a sudden people have to "update" their levels with water because apparently any level without water is garbage.

Has anyone actually made a decent water level?
Surely someone could have put together a simple, actual level by now, to counteract all these 'pools'.

As for updating current levels. I'm actually more interested in some of the POTC decorations.

I will be using water in a level eventually, Little Big Fantasy Part 5 to be precise.

Im sick of it too and it ain't smart to publish your level at this time.. I guess people will get sick of the water pools in a few weeks and thats the time to come back with decent levels.. We should organise some publish event where alot of members here publish there levels in the same weekend or week, cool pages would really be cool pages then 2009-12-23 19:30:00

apparently beta users have just discovered how to port their levels over through a little back door.

So get ready for some CRAAZY times!! I've got 3 in a box waiting to be unleashed, and I'll publish 2 right away, and I might hold off on the third. I'll keep everyone updated.

This was all to be expected, it was the same story in the beta. Early levels were all just messing around. Who knows, a lot of these might be users that just want to get that "publish a level with water" trophy.

Sorry for sounding like a scratched record, but why is anyone surprised? It's like putting your hand in a fire and being surprised it's hot.... And then doing it again. The community is completely, 100%, predictable.

Teebonesy's offerings from the beta, along with a whole host of others are fantastic. You'll have good community water levels soon enough

Guys, it was bound to happen. It will die down, like every other time this happened. Just give it a little time, and try not to grow to angry while it's like this.2009-12-23 19:31:00

I knew it was to happen, but I just get so angry that we can't do anything about it!
How does that Lemon-And-Gravy feel?

Stealing all the glory for a level that what, has a block of wood and a misplaced race gate? Does my head in.

This isn't the only time this has happened. Remember when the paintinator was first released? *shudder*2009-12-23 19:48:00

Yeah i can't wait to see someone publish a level 'Pirate Caverns - First GOOD level with water' as their name.

But there were some real nice ones in the beta so hopefully they will overtake these terrible ones at the moment.

It's been less than a day, what do you expect? This will be happening for the next few months unfortunately. hopefully it dies down quick.2009-12-23 19:57:00

Well, since alot of us have GOOD water levels we might communicate and publish them in a bunch like over the same 2 weeks or something?

You know, speeding the cool level pages towards some decent levels instead of letting things settle down in one or two months...

Sorry, don't think it's going to be quick. After months of news, hype, anticipation, and beta leaks... I have a feeling this fad is going nowhere anytime soon.

Perhaps the best way to do it is to get them all out right away?

I've published my three:
"City on the Sea"
"Electric Banana Peeler Factory"
and "The Legend of the Deep One".

Why not get on in there and get them out there! While my levels contain water, they're hardly strong "water" levels, as most of them take place on dry land. There were some hardy, very strong water levels in the beta that need to be out right now, especially from that one contest, the "water puzzle/mechanics" one.

Ooh I just published a survival challenge called Pirates' Cove Survival Challenge. I'd say it's better than the stuff on page 1, if anyone's interested2009-12-23 22:15:00

I've got the prettiest water level currently published! Aquanaut's Photo Op 2.0...I tore apart the 1.0 version to add water...it may as well be a new level because the original had less than 200 plays. This level was just about the visuals so don't expect stellar gameplay. I think switching over to "real" water was a significant improvement...the jellyfish and clownfish said they are much happier now as well. I hated deleting my fake waves, bubble emitters, etc. so for the time being I've left the original too...it's fun to compare.2009-12-23 22:21:00

The problem with cool pages is that you need popularity, and popularity does not allways equal quality. We need another kind of page were levels with high quality go to the page.

Then both the kids and the pros will be pleased.
