Contents of European Special Edition already available!

Archive: 33 posts

After more than a month of waiting, people like me who bought the European Special Edition (also known as Creator's Edition, and only available in selected countries) can finally redeem their codes and download the extra contents.

You must go to the PlayStation Store and put your code on the "Redeem Code" option. Then download.

They mostly are contents from the PS3 version adapted to the PSP: backgrounds, music, stickers, materials, costumes... They look impressive, specially the new materials, more detailed than the default ones. There are also extra costumes of MotorStorm and Killzone.

Supposedly, if you use these contents on your level, people who haven't got the special edition can still see them and play the level as normal.

Not yet.

It has been said that this content will make it's way onto the store sometime in the future. Just not yet.

Eh might as well copy/paste what I said on Gamefaqs

Ah, now the recent patch makes sense, it was so others can play levels with the special edition stuff. I didn't think they get it fixed so soon. Oh well everyone else will get it eventually, I can wait.

I didn't plan on creating more levels for a while once I finish my third one, but after seeing the new materials and stickers, now I'm full of ideas and can't wait to create even more.

I really hope they put the contents on the Store soon, so everyone can buy and use them on their levels. The quality will improve a lot.

One thing I've noticed by using the new materials is that they use A LOT of the thermometer, maybe four or five times more than a standard material. I can understand it, though, because they're more detailed and colourful.

I have about 75% of my level finished and I'm getting worried, because the thermometer has went from 60 to 80% after I started using new materials (only a couple of them).

Lleonard Pler, how many new materials do you have with this DLC? And do these materials have some differences from old ones except its detailed and colourful?2009-12-24 11:17:00

I haven't counted them myself, but on the game box it says: "100 materials, 120 stickers". The materials come from the PS3 version, that's the only difference. There aren't new types of materials (wood, steel, stone...).

All of them? Or are there any missing?

You have the 8 music tracks and 8 backgrounds from the PS3 version, there is not a single one missing.

Then, there are like 100 materials and 100 stickers, all of them from the PS3 version too.

There are some costumes too, although it's difficult to say how many there are because the costumes are splitted in parts (body, legs, head...). I'd say like 6-8 from the PS3 version, plus the 2 from MotorStorm and 1 from Killzone.

I'll try to do a quick showcase level of the new contents when I finish the one I'm working on.

Yes, that is, the original eight interactive music tracks (though not interactive on the PSP). By sorting by theme, I get these numbers for the PS3 themes:

The Gardens: 13 materials, 15 stickers, 3 + 4 costume items (head + body)
The Savannah: 16 materials, 15 stickers, 7 + 2 costume items
The Wedding: 14 materials, 15 stickers, 3 + 2 costume items
The Canyons: 19 materials, 15 stickers, 3 + 2 costume items
The Metropolis: 24 materials, 14 stickers, 5 + 5 costume items
The Islands: 13 materials, 15 stickers, 2 + 1 costume items
The Temples: 11 materials, 15 stickers, 3 + 3 costume items
The Wilderness: 13 materials, 15 stickers, 2 + 3 costume items

I don't have the numbers for the PS3 game, so I couldn't say how much they transferred, but with some PS3 stuff already in the basic PSP game, I'd say this rounds out the arsenal pretty well. Maybe not as much in the costume area, but in my opinion the PSP is already pretty strong there.

Some hilights: the lion costume (including my favorite, the Scary Fangs) is back, as is the Ninja Scarf (no more excuses for Rtm! ) and the cool coats from The Wilderness. Too bad you can't sticker your sackboy, or I could recreate some of my PS3 favorites.

Edit: I just grouped everything by theme on the PS3, and indeed for materials and costumes, the groups are pretty much the same (except for a few items that had a similar counterpart in a PSP level, for example the wedding suit was left out because of the Tinsel Town tux). It doesn't have the same amount of stickers by far, though.

I've just published a showcase level using the exclusive contents only, so everyone can play it and know what to expect if they ever put the contents as DLC.

Map: Creator's Edition Showcase
PSN ID: Lleonard

It's a very simple level, without anything special about it besides using materials, stickers, music and background from the Creator's Edition. I prefered to keep puzzles, ideas and special things for my next levels.

In the US, you got that extra costumes as a pre-order bonus, or as a reward for buying the digital version of the game.

In Europe, you can't get the Uncharted costumes, and the other 3 are only included in the Creator's Edition.

It seems very likely, since all the work for it has been done anyway. But I don't think it was ever officially confirmed.

Interesting. Has anybody tried giving or receiving prizes with Creator Edition content? I can only imagine that there's a filter in place like in the PS3 version.2010-01-01 21:06:00

Haven't tried, but I also don't feel like trying. It would undermine profitability and thus the game's future.

Edit: That is, unless they announce they'll never release it anywhere else. Then I'll be happy to smuggle them to you.

2 bad you couldn't put the materials and other stuff except the music >_> into prize bubbles and have a level of just prize bubbles and then it would save people time of not buying the DLC when and "if" it comes out >_>2010-01-02 00:51:00

I tried sharing the new contents with my boyfriend (and yes, before anyone asks: I'm a man and I have a boyfriend), as he bought the digital version and didn't have the Creator's Edition. Well, he couldn't use the extra contents.

It's like in the PS3 version: you can play levels that use contents of the expansion packs, but you can't use them on your own levels.

What's great about the psp creators edition pack is that a select few can use a palette unavailable to others - even those who were willing to pay for the pack from the start. Hooray for another status divider in the community! no wait I got pspLBP cos im sick of those, oh well back to the Wii2010-01-10 21:07:00
