I'd assume the Gem compatibility stuff will be the next significant update. | 2009-12-23 16:56:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
Weather, snow, cloudes, rain, wind. I really hope so! | 2009-12-23 17:24:00 Author: Kobe24Life Posts: 150 |
Ice. ssssssssssssss | 2009-12-23 17:25:00 Author: applepod124 Posts: 163 |
Id love to see some more dangerous stuff, all we got is spikes, fire, electricity and gas... What about ice where you turn into an ice cube and burst in pieces, lava that melts our precious puppets or quicksand that sucks you up if you don't grab something in time.. Weather would be nice too, that would make the quality of the levels so much better because you won't have to emit fake rain or thunder. I would really like to see more new materials though, it ain't too hard to give us about 10extra stone materials.. The pirates pack gave us some extra materials but most of them weren't good for different kind of themes. Every level that has caves or rocks in it has the same three stone materials which gets pretty boring. Whatever they do, I hope they keep adding stuff to littlebigplanet because everytime a new pack comes out I'm hooked on creating for a few months again ;P | 2009-12-23 17:33:00 Author: Kn0cked-0ut Posts: 562 |
@ARD: Gem comptability? Explain. | 2009-12-23 17:48:00 Author: FlipMeister Posts: 631 |
Yeah real ice would be could and weather too | 2009-12-23 17:59:00 Author: Dexist Posts: 570 |
I'd like to see a Castlevania pack. The powerup would be a whip. It could be used to kill enemies and activate mechanisms (that would have a special whip switch like the paintinator switch) or to hook yourself to special materials and swing yourself over pits and such. Additionally, there could be some temporary powerups to transform you into a flying bat, a running wolf or turn you into mist, in order to get past certain obstacles. Make it happen, Mm and Konami! | 2009-12-23 18:09:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |
^^^ Most hopeful post ever | 2009-12-23 18:12:00 Author: Coxy224 Posts: 2645 |
Katamari Forever pack. You can roll everything into a ball, the costumes would be ridiculous, and nothing in the entire pack would make sense. Make it happen, Mm and Namco! But seriously, the Castlevania pack would be awesome. | 2009-12-23 18:28:00 Author: Hibbsi Posts: 203 |
@ARD: Gem comptability? Explain. This (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Motion_Controller) and this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3nMVBy5MTI) | 2009-12-23 18:32:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
Yes - more danger objects (ICE!!) would be awesome. | 2009-12-23 18:45:00 Author: alexbull_uk Posts: 1287 |
With the R&C pack(if it's real) I'm sure we'll see a wrench/sword type thing, hopefully they add weather as well. | 2009-12-23 18:45:00 Author: TheFirstAvenger Posts: 787 |
This (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Motion_Controller) and this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3nMVBy5MTI) Well call it the frickin' PS motion controller then!!! | 2009-12-23 19:04:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
I'd like either weather or a health bar. | 2009-12-23 19:21:00 Author: LordMagicPants Posts: 187 |
Well call it the frickin' PS motion controller then!!! Why? Sony is calling it Gem | 2009-12-23 19:29:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
Why? Sony is calling it Gem Following up on reports that EA chief John Riccitiello let slip the name of Sony's upcoming PlayStation 3 motion controller, a Sony spokesperson told Kotaku that "Gem" isn't necessarily the device's real name. The term "Gem" was "an early code name for the product," according to Sony Computer Entertainment of America director of communications Patrick Seybold. "We haven't announced final name at this point."] http://kotaku.com/5423269/sony-gem-was-a-prototype-name-for-ps3-motion-controller now maybe there has been an update in the last 2 weeks, IDK. Your refs call it a motion controller, is all | 2009-12-23 19:39:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
It's quicker to type Gem than Motion Controller for the Sony Computer Entertainment PlayStation 3 video game entertainment system. | 2009-12-23 19:41:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
Probably not quicker than having this conversation and all the confusion though. Lol. | 2009-12-23 19:42:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
It's quicker to type Gem than Motion Controller for the Sony Computer Entertainment PlayStation 3 video game entertainment system. The name "Gem" just makes me think of a corny old 80's cartoon. To me it's the Playstation Motion Controller... PMC! | 2009-12-23 19:44:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |
Call it what you will... I'm buying my wife one! | 2009-12-23 23:06:00 Author: Gravel Posts: 1308 |
I'm gonna go with ARD and say the Gem. It seems like the only likely possibility. I'd like to say a gravity toggle option, but I don't think that's coming anytime soon. | 2009-12-23 23:11:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
It's definitely going to be motion control. They've developed it to the extent that we've already seen it in action. They already have levels built that utilize it. The wands are supposed to be out in the spring, right? So in only a few months' time, we may be seeing the next major update to LBP. | 2009-12-23 23:14:00 Author: Teebonesy Posts: 1937 |
I agree with the Motion Controller for the Sony Computer Enterta..*puff* OH I CANT GO ON ANYMORE! | 2009-12-24 01:01:00 Author: Testudini Posts: 3262 |
Gravity controllers. i'm tired of only using the jetpack to fly around in simulated "space". besides, this would make levels based on planets much better (low grav paintinator fights anyone?) | 2009-12-24 01:34:00 Author: falcon434 Posts: 16 |
physics pack? honestly, if MM could make physics in LBP more accessible, I'd be a happier gadder. Attaching aircraft, mechs, special enemies, and countless more things. to rails, or using complex gyros sucks. It could include centrifugal force, pressure controls, a gravity object, balance controllers. a sack can dream... | 2009-12-24 04:27:00 Author: TheLawnStink Posts: 98 |
Weather. :3 | 2009-12-24 05:08:00 Author: FreeFlyzz Posts: 265 |
Weather wold be awesome. That Gem thing looks pretty cool, not too concerned with playing LBP with it. I would definitely get it for RE5 though. After playing RE4 Wii using a regular controller feels obsolete. Maybe the FF pack will finally come out next year. Costumes and levels. The new enhancement could maybe be melee weapons. Swords, staffs etc. Who knows. | 2009-12-24 08:44:00 Author: TripleTremelo Posts: 490 |
It could include centrifugal force, Ummm, we already have that. Please no-one be a smarmy git and pull me up on the technicalities of centrifugal vs centripetal Does the motion controller have a vibrate function? Because that will just be far too embarrassing. | 2009-12-24 08:52:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
Some stuff Media Molecule already said is in the works in a way or another: - Stickers cut-out tool - Level linking (no the queue thing we can see in the game right now but something that would link our levels and let us make stuff like an hub level with different exits to other levels or simply going into another level as soon as you take that "probably special" exit they would give us. Anyhow, this is speculation.) - Level queuing from a website portal . | 2009-12-24 09:48:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
I think the level linking feature is the currently implemented "find linked levels" key thing Ranger. | 2009-12-24 09:53:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
Fair possibility. It is just an interface enhancement favorising keys for me but you know, might be a new "feature" for MM. . | 2009-12-24 09:59:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
Well it depends how you use it. If you set it up right, the player completes the level with key in and on exit all they see is the level they began in and the level linked to by the key. It's quite a major difference and can be used for great effect in a series. I need to do some more testing but that could probably do your hub level, if keys were at the scoreboards. | 2009-12-24 10:03:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
PILLS No, one thing i would like is the Portal gun or even the gravity gun now that would be SO KOOL | 2009-12-24 10:47:00 Author: bakscratch Posts: 258 |
Weather can be simmulated. So can ice(Allthough they were planning on making actual ice that freezed sacks, but gave up after it lagged to much i th?nk): We need updates that makes things possibel, not that makes thing easy. I think a " Climbing Pack " Would be a good idea, Some kind of material or tool that allows you to climb up for walls and climb up on a amterial if youj are standing infront of it. This would allow for things that are not possibel today . ANd a ninjarope. Were you can grab things from a distance and pull it towards you or pull your'e se?f towads them. The gravity tool would propably not best . Can you imagine how it would ruin the community ....... Lava can allready be made with the fire we allready have- We dont need new hazzards. Use gas to create your'e own hazzards instead. Allso there is allready a portal gun level that uses the paintator. We don't need that. We don't need stuff like a meele weopen. The grab function is enough. And we dont need a lazernator. Paintator is enough and we will not ever need more range or meele weopens. | 2009-12-24 11:02:00 Author: Unknown User |
Ranger mentioned the sticker cut-out tool... In past paks I thought perhaps it was being used, but, PoTC showed no such useage. The edging was pretty rough around the sticker. I for one would still like to see a image input tool. | 2009-12-24 12:20:00 Author: Gravel Posts: 1308 |
This is more of a wish list... Increase the variety of different color sticker's with ability to choose the shape/size of the sticker. Change huge dot of the corner editing tool to a small crosshair. Wind physics. -fighting the wind to get from one side of the screen to the other, or being blown upward or simulating a long fall of skydiving. Gobal sound tool: a device that would allow - sound effect volume control - ability to turn off the annoying gas hazard sound - control distance sounds could be heard from - switch a distance controlled sound effect on and off - add environmental effects to sounds... i.e. echo, large room, water distortion etc., - control global environment sound themes: i.e. jungles, snow environments, swamp, cave etc. where you can turn on and off different aspects of the themed sounds... sackboy's footsteps sound different in snow... than say in a swamp environment. Select the sounds you want to be present and the volume you want them at. | 2009-12-24 15:30:00 Author: enodrawkcab Posts: 238 |
Does the motion controller have a vibrate function? Because that will just be far too embarrassing. what are you thinking of you naughty boy? :kz: | 2009-12-24 16:23:00 Author: oldage Posts: 2824 |
Image upload- I know theres the whole copyright infringement issue, but if you have a way for MM to view what people are trying to upload, which would eliminate the rudies too, it could be sorted. Gravity adjustment- At one point I wanted to make a low-gravity level where you are on a small planet that you could walk right around (around the globe) and not fall off. It'd be a great feature but would not work too well with water. Hazardous water- I know you can do this by putting gas at the top, but thats not the point. Seeing how we can turn water green (acid) red (lava) and other colours, it'd be nice if you could make it lethal. | 2009-12-24 17:58:00 Author: Matimoo Posts: 1027 |
