New update available (v2.02)

Archive: 23 posts

Don't see anything at the LittleBigPlanet blog just yet, but I couldn't connect to the Community Moon all morning, and when I tried again just now, it told me I had to update LBP.

I quit the game and pressed triangle and sure enough, 2.02 is now available for download.

I can confirm that the material shifting glitch is not fixed by this update. Continue to corner-edit your objects everyone. 2009-12-22 13:43:00

I just installed the patch. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, so I don't face any more bugs while creating my third level.2009-12-22 14:19:00

Can we get some concrete information on the bugs rectified?

EDIT: I've just sent a PM to Sam asking about the update and any rectified bugs, I'll post back with a reply ASAP; in the meantime, I would like an ongoing report on what bugs have been rectified....

EDIT: I was meaning to ask, is Cambridge even aware of the material shifting bug, the emitters bug, etc. or are are they completely in the dark about the others?

Did you test from a level created before the update? I've just created a new test level, and haven't come across any material shifting yet.

Created a new level, blank template, placed 25 static rubber squares. Hit play, rewind, play, rewind, etc, observed the material shifting of the squares.

Grrr someone beat me to the punch. I was wondering why I couldnt get online to publish my level last night... Hmmm...

I havent encountered any glitches yet, but I do hope the ones I would have came across would be patched.

Possible features...

Some people who were lucky enough to get their hands on the Creators Edition in Europe were able to redeem their codes today.

This could mean that this patch was in fact the DLC data that would be needed if...
A: You got the creators edition and wanted to use this DLC in your levels.
B: You end up playing a level with the bonus content in. Similar to the PS3 version, even if you don't own a certain DLC, you can still play levels with those DLC used in that particular level.

Does Cambridge even know about all the other bugs? It seems that Sam and others only check the Littlebigworkshop Forum for bug reports and the like, if there hasn't been any mention of the other bugs in the Workshop forums, then they would be completely unaware and thus, unable to fix said bugs...2009-12-23 18:51:00

I am sure that they're keeping an eye on things, I mean there is a lot riding on this game after all...2009-12-23 22:52:00

Do you guys think, (even if Sony knows about these glitches and errors or not) that Sony would see an explosion of rage, when millions of people would probably be buying this game on Christmas and encounter all these glitches and errors?

probably so, you think that could be a motivating factor for Cambridge to fix the bugs?2009-12-24 00:48:00

Does anybody know if this patch fixed the massive creation mode crashing bugs that sometimes led to corrupted data?

I want to create levels, but i'm pretty spooked of those glitches because I had to restart my game save file once and I would not like to ace all levels again for the 3rd time.

We do know that the person who does the news section for the PSP version makes levels (just look up his name), so he more then likely knows about the bugs.2009-12-24 03:05:00

I know for a fact that the create bugs are still not working. Only thing it fixed was motor bolts, and the dreaded freeze bug (not a lot though). So ya, for the bug patch, we wait...2009-12-24 03:11:00

Guys, you think the bugs plaguing the Create Mode will be completely--or for the most part--rectified at some point in the future?2009-12-24 08:24:00

I did yesterday my new level and there is no big bugs as freezing or crashing, just old bug with moving platform that change position and angle after test playing.

Peoples, let do the list of bugs, that we have in creator mode after applying patch 2,02.

For the most part. I wasn't there for it, but LPB vets have explained how the PS3 version had its share of create mode bugs that made creating as unbearable as it is on the PSP. They were fixed, and SC is set on fixing the PSP version, so I'm sure they will be fixed for the most part eventually. The question is rather "WHEN will they" than "will they."

Well there are now results on the Featured levels page! Cool! Mine is fortunate enough to of made the cut. Hopefully they update it with new levels regularly. Nothing on featured players yet.

Still need to properly start my next level.
