Puzzle Worldkirbyman62

As the title suggests, this is a level with puzzles. No story, just platformer puzzles (platformer puzzles are things like say, Scribblenauts, as opposed to puzzle games like Prof. Layton). They're quite simple, but this means I can fit a lot in, and there are a couple of relativly hard ones at the end. As well as that, there is also a secret for players to find

Kirbyma62 At his best!!!!
I had myself pondering on some of the puzzle he showed me, he knows how to make a good puzzle.

I'm his friend and I saw it quite early on, but It is generally brilliant.

Thanks, it's almost done now.

So far I've reached 33 puzzles, plus a 2x one and a secret one, which POLLOePILLA donated to me.

I thought they were way to easy. I don't know maybe that's just me. But i did like the gear challenge. That was pretty sweet. You had some other interesting challenges too. Over all it was pretty good2010-03-13 12:21:00

Hi Kirbyman

Lol, you like your clashing primary colors don't you (getting a headache)
I really enjoyed this level, the puzzles were varied, not too hard (Apart from the balloons part, I nearly gave up at that bit) and the length was epic. I shouldn't criticize the graphics, because the game is about the puzzles (hence the name) not the graphics, but the colors really did hurt my eyes!

Score out of ten:

Graphics 7.5
Game play 9
Originality 9.3
Length 10

EDIT: F4F: Pirates of the Carob Bean tours

Thats 8.95!! GREAT score! (if you miss the graphics score out thats 9.4!!!!!

Great game, well done!

:/ Sorry about that, never happened to me. Thanks a lot for the score!

A quick notice about F4F to everyone, I will play your levels, but I can only go on about an hour and a half a day, and I don't want to spend the whole time playing levels, so I'll only do about one or two a night. I will get it done though, I promise.

Hiya.
Had a nice playthrough - been a while since I saw the original version. A lot of nice puzzles here, I particularly enjoyed the ones where you had to have a little think - like the one where you have to get the paint gun, jump down and shoot up the button.

Sadly I got stuck and couldnt complete. On the rainbow puzzle, I got rid of pink but then couldnt find the combination to get rid of green. I assume some combination of switches dissolves it. I stickered the help square at the top, which then put a sticker clue.. in front of the brown switch. So i couldnt jump from one to the other.

The other thing you need to sort out is the music at the start. Dont play that jingle when you walk past the puzzle world sign, it clashes HORRIBLY with the main background music.

some really nice puzzles here (and i found the secret *wink*)

Hey, I just finished playing it and it was very fun. I have to be honest, i didn't find the puzzles too hard. I thought they were well thought out though and I could see how you put time and effort into getting all of the puzzles working.

My one thought on how you could improve is how you used color. Now, you have these really bright colors and that give it a fun feel but it doesn't feel too intentional. If you were to choose one of the three colors, say blue, and that color was always something that needed to be shot with the paintanator, then the player would get used to the idea that when they blue they need to shoot it. This principle could help you make even more challenging puzzles that don't need a word of explanation because of how you've trained the player what different colors mean.

I'm gonna talk about this more in my next "Film Maker" blog but this can give you an idea of how to use color to help your puzzles. You can also check out my blog post of contrast/affinity (link is in sig) to maybe see what I mean on how you can use similar and different colors to tell the player what to do.

I also had to play your level twice as the first time through I somehow glitched the system and the water wouldn't go down so i couldn't complete the rainbow challenge.

Overall though I thought you had created a fun level that had some good puzzle designs. I also did find the secret!

If you could check out my level "Joe Snow's Mountain" (link is in sig) that would be great!

The switch combination dissolves the pink layer though :/

Did a paintinator appear?

Sure will, thanks for the help. Did you use the secret to go to the secret puzzle? That (in mine and XOAcireXO's opinion) is very hard. Thanks for all the support guys, glad you enjoyed it!

And I'll see about the colour thing tonight.

OK, I fixed what TheAdipose was talking about (the music and the help obstructing the view). Sorry I couldn't play your level shebhnt, my laptop decided it didn't want to open LBPCentral and I couldn't remember the name of it

As for the opening theme, instead of getting rid of it, I got rid of the background music when it starts, anyone think this is better than before?
