Invisible Glitch Object

Archive: 3 posts

I was working on a level the other day, when I came across a spot that I could not place any material (which made it impossible to align the area I was working on). I took some material and outlined the shape that I was not able to place material on. It was a small square. I used the capture object function to grab the item - and then worked around it.

A few days later I decided to play with the strange object. Apparently, it is a thin layer object that can only be placed on the two center thin layers. It is completely invisible and you cannot pass through it. (if you are in plane 3 you cannot pass through the object to get to plane 2) Once placed you cannot sticker it, select it, or move it. It IS affected by gravity and can be crushed by heavy objects. The object I captured can be resized, but it cannot be painted with - meaning that it must be a perfect square, and I have been unsuccesful in attempts to delete a shape out of it.

While it is difficult to work with I have found several uses for it already - I don't know if this particular object (or a better version) has already been in circulation. I figured the object showcase was the most appropriate place to ask about it.

Me and and a friend were playing online, when we ran into something invisible. I grabbed it with the popit thing and it took the shape of a hammer head. The hammer lost its properties and dropped the head. Its cool, since you can change it to pure electricity. You can also change it to another material, but not back to its invisible state. It is also expandable through the layers, meaning you can make it sit on 3 layers rather than its original 1 layer. I've been working on recreating this but i've been unsuccessful. Oh, and I tried making it to another shape, but it seems it still holds some properties of being a story object.2009-12-21 22:12:00

It's definitely piston matter. It's sometimes left behind when you delete pistons or other connectors.

But.... I think the best invisible material is the kind you can find showcased in my sig.
