New Sackies is up. Congrats to all, and see, FullGorr, I told you.^_^ The Sackies ? Celebrating the highest level of achievement amongst Players, Creators and Sharers on LittleBigPlanet. Most of these awards are for individual levels, or things within them, but in some cases these levels are part of a bigger whole. There are some creators out there who manage to wow, innovate, entertain and amuse time after time after time after time. This is the Creator of the Year award. And the nominees are? * Wexfordian * Fullgorr * jump_button * Candyk * Jackofcourse * Jaeyden And the winner is? Wait! We failed to choose one over the others. We just can?t. We put together a list of nominees for this, but there is simply no way to pick one above the rest. All of these people, are the Creators of the Year! Play their levels to see why, you probably already have though! Check back tomorrow for another Sackie award!

I have to admit, when I saw the thread title I was sure this wasn't going to end well. Thankfully they didn't single out one creator above the rest... but still, it seems like such a small list (though they are amazing choices for sure). Edit: Where are my manners? This is a great list, but I'm confused by the lack of anyone named Grant... I'm not sure anyone has produced a greater number of quality levels than Grant. That said, enjoy your crowns everyone! (Or did they all already have one!?) Edit: I honestly don't know where they could go after this...

Congrats everyone, thats a good list there. Everyone is deserving of the awards so far, MM has had a hard choice to make throughout this, but has chosen well. I can't say I'm not dissapointed not to be mentioned in at least the story sackies. But hey ho, just have to make the next ones even better next year.

Yes, 100% Grant, you should have at least been nominated in the story one. Although I feel exactly the same, I put my life into 'Pretty Simple' and conjured up an epic tale for everyone, what recognition does it get? None. Congrats to everyone, personally I think CandyK may be misplaced here. 100% amazing creator, no doubt. But to get 'Creator of the Year' off 2 levels is quite special, they're amazing for sure, but I think there are few people who have put more into the game who would have been more deserving. But anyway, we could all say that about every award that has been announced so far. Taking nothing away from the winners, well done everyone.

Wa-wa-wa!?!?! Umm, I'm super thrilled to be nominated for "Creator of the year" but there are so many people that deserve it much, much, much more than me... I'm kinda embarrassed to say the least. I think I won this award based off of the beta as my actual level are complete garbage. And yes kappa, I guess you were right.

A lot of amazing creators missing in that list but fair enough. GrantosUk and MrSupercomputer are definitely overlooked and I know a couple more that could have been in that list. Congratulations to all on your new shiny headpieces!! Amusing that me and a couple of friends argued when Wex would finally get a crown, well now look at him!!

Congratulations! Nice to see Jaeyden up there too. He's one of my fav's for levels to play. I think we're gonna have to start referring to Wex as the king of crowns..... how many is that now, like 12? Yep..... most certainly missing a Grant up there and Mrsupercomputer's level resume is among the strongest out there..... idk - if LBPC were picking there'd be a couple changes to these lists. Still this one is a good choice.

It would have been really nice to see previous winners excluded from other categories and have a few more creators recognised. It all gets a bit ridiculous when the same creators keep scooping all the awards for basicaly the same levels. It just begins to look like the same little 'clique' of Mm's favourites patting each other on the back. Besides you can't wear more than 1 crown so what's the point keep giving them to the same people. I remember being told with regards to this forum's OC contest that if I entered and won the prize crown would be returned to Mm so thy could use it for someone new. Double standards anyone ? As for the nominees for this category I know they're good but how candyk fits that quote I have no idea. He hasn't even made a level for months. He has artistic talent which I wish I had but I guarantee I've put 50 times more effort and time into my levels. We can't all have design flair or technical know-how. We do the best we possibly can with limited expertise but it seems that counts for nothing.

I can't disagree more, just because you have already won something does not mean you aren't deserving of another accolade. If your level has the best story, and the best visual effects, I see no reason why you shouldn't win both. Anything other than winning, if that level does truly deserves it, equals a screwed and unfair result. StevenI getting the 'Ever Watching Eye' award for example. People over on LBW were moaning that he was the only one nominated and that made it seem like no one else deserves or does anything for the community. When in reality, it was just that there was only ever going to be one winner. In terms of getting multiple crowns, I severely doubt this will happen. No matter how many you are nominated for/win. I'm sure you'll still only receive the one. I could say a lot more and word this better but I have assignments to do, this typing could be bumping up my word count right now!

The way I look at it, these awards are deserved, and these creators are all very nice people. (i don't know candyk, nor do I care for his/her levels, but the others I love). I would have liked some way to VOTE FOR THESE that wasn't unbelievably haphazard. I'm hearing they asked for nominees for the one category over twitter? I mean, come on. I would have liked to be able to send in my choices. (btw, I'm not talking about this category in particular. I'm talking about this debacle of an awards show in general) And I agree with jack, btw. I don't think they'll give out multiple crowns. That would be silly, wouldn't it? I think it's one per customer.

I don't think it's a case that people shouldn't be nominated more than once - there are plenty of people who deserve multiple nominations. However, it does feel like MM (like many of us, including myself) have a relatively limited view of what is out there in the community. They have their favourites and there are likely a large number of great creations they have never seen. Maybe going out of your way to play a slightly wider selection before announcing the "best" would have been wise and naturally led to more diversity in the nominations.

Im starting to get the feeling these awards are going to be bad for me. I don't really want to be singled out. I have zero interest in crowns. Its nice to get the nod sure but its not why I do it. I do it because its fun. With every new award given out, there are more people who should have been on the list, other ways they could have done it. I'm starting to wish I wasn't mentioned at all. Its only breeding ill feeling within the community and that is the opposite of want I want to happen.

Wex, I don't think it will breed ill feelings towards you. We love you! If anyone deserves to be nominated as many times as you have been, it is you. You're so dedicated to this game, it's a darn shame they haven't hired you yet. You're brilliant. I really look up to you and wish that I could be half as good as you. Don't look at it as a curse. Look at it as something you've earned. Yes, there is some unfairness with the way these awards were handled and some people are going to be upset. But not at you. Never at you. And plasmavore, thank you, although I don't belong standing amongst these ranks. I do agree with Morgana, Ccubbage and mrsupercomputer, though.

I don't know what to say. I'm on that list. I love to create and I agree that there should be many many more included. I'm very happy to be recognized. It makes a lonely sole like me feel appreciated, but I'd rather be creating cool stuff than worrying about these kind of things. Come join me...lets create!

It's just nice MM have finally noticed you @ plasmavore - I'm flattered as well, but there's no way I belong in this category. Dozens of creators deserve to be up there but I'm not one of them.

I should explain my comment yesterday by saying that I was just in a little spot of depression (self caused by a certain Irish tradition called "The 12 pubs of Christmas" the night previous. I'll let you figure out what that entails ) I agree with everyone that there should be a lot more names on that list. Im so happy to see so many of my friends on the list. I had the pleasure of doing a level with Jaeyden and Fullgorr in the beta and it was one of the most fun I had building a level. Their both really nice guys with the same level as obsession about LBP as I do. Its definitely something Id like to repeat. I agree with this least.... although there are definately a few names I would add to it - MrsSpookyBuz, anyone? GrantosUK? SteveBigGuns? CompherMC? MrSuperComputer? Totally agree! And I'd put you and few others on that list. Stir til thick and creamy, bake in the oven for 45 minutes and tah dahhhh.... Awesome pie!

Have i ever played a fullgorr level? Srsly, have i? Somebody remind me... I drink Dr. Pepper-- the unofficial un-cola of the un-beta... Congratulations to all! (even Fullgorr- whom i've just recently heard of... Now I wonder what I've been missing) i can not wait for these things to be; over; said; and done! Not that their has been one undeserving name on the lists... Just kinda find the whole thing in poor taste generally... Crownings in mass for nominations doesn't sit well... Weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly recognition, is really the way to keep the community sitting upright at the table displaying good manners. Now I am not begrudging anyone their hard work and just rewards-- just please let these thing be done. Now... I don't care about rewards or crowns... BUT! Wex, if they do give you the bakers' dozen... and each code is specific, Who's your pal? The community loves you! How far do we go back... why it seems like just days ago...
