Well, I've recently noticed the Sackies, and how every nominee gets crowns, and I've noticed many other crown giving things. This has made me think if soon, will crowns become Recon? If you've ever played Halo 3, you know what Recon (can I haz t3h re0nz plzzzz) is. It was an awesome set of armor, only the best of the best had. But recently, Bungie made it possible for everyone to get, by just getting a certain achievement. So, quickly, recon went from a special armor, to an armor everyone had. Which ruined the whole point of the armor. Now, crowns are starting to become the same, something that used to be extremely rare, is in many, many hands. And in a year or two, a LOT of players will have it. Maybe MM will even cross the line by making it available if you get a certain trophy! So, what do you guys think about this? Are crowns becoming less and less valuable?

I dunno.. I was wondering that a bit myself. I then started thinking that maybe they are just now attempting to catch up from being so darn busy all year and not giving out as many as they had hoped.

Even though Bungie made it so everyone could get Recon, they now give flaming helmets to people who do amazing feats. It's like you finally get into a club with all the cool people only to realise they're going somewhere else.

Since the only other way besides this to get a crown, was to win a competition or do something really neat like Kitsune and Contra. which makes it very few and only "the best of a certain theme" instead of the best of the best. I think they are going the right pace, just as long as they don't put it up on the store, or make random drawings will this be okay.

Only about 50 people out of about 500,000 people have crowns. I think that's pretty rare.

I'm also talking about how it's growing, it used to be every 2 or 3 months someone got them, but now it's growing increasingly, and scarily, fast.

They'll never make a trophy for it, but I do agree that it seems anyone can get a crown these days. But then again it's just a costume piece, having one does not make you any better than someone who does not have a crown.

I have a friend on my list that received a crown for a rather weird reason... he made this subpar "pack" of objects, and instantly received a crown. I have no problem with anyone getting a crown, but it's the inconsistency to who they are given to makes me somewhat upset.

Although I'm quite curious to who that person is. But anyway, this guy kept trolling on some of my Youtube videos comments going around telling the usual people asking about how to get the crown, That You get it from the GotY and/or History Pack. And he acts all smart alecky saying thats how he got his when I keep telling him thats not true. I couldn't take his BS anymore and blocked him. Part of me was mad for him being stubborn (and also the fact that people might believe him and purchase those to find out they didn't get it, making me feel guilty), the other part was mad of the thought of the crowns being given out so easily after I (and all the others who earned them) have worked so hard to earn. Of course I know its not true, but just the thought of that happening . Bug Blaster will take over ut saying well im think im the only one to win it and never get it ^^; im sure they send it to the wrong PSN seeing as they did say we can talk about anything in the beta out side here the list of winners for bug blaster so far edit cant think why it been anything soon anyway dont want to upset any one ^^;

Well with the sackies giving out crowns... I don't think there is a single nomination in there that doesn't deserve a crown. So what's the problem here? With the sackies they are totally recognising top talent. If anything this is giving me more confidence that MM are giving out crowns to the right people for the right reasons. I honestly don't think this is a case of MM just giving out crowns willy-nilly, more a case of them coming to understand that maybe they haven't been recognising some of the most amazing talent in the community (for various reasons - it's not a critisism), so they are giving out these awards to actually do that recognition. It's christmas, and this is a rather special set of awards - I don't see this spiraling out of control. @Jump button: Have the beta bug blasters even been sent out yet? I assumed they would get sent when the vests did - after the beta is finished.

50 a year. Over the course of 5 years, that'll be 250. Even if could be game shared... 250 x 5 that's still only 1250. Of course, at the end of the 5 year life cycle, 1250 will be a large number of players in the small remaining base, but many of those players, such as those who wear a crown through future possible gamesharing will probably be as fickle as the wind and not be part of the remaining community by that point in time. Think of it this way - if the servers are still up in 2015, all that's left will be excellent and informed players, and crown wearing creators, and a community full of heavy heads. As long as they never make it a buyable piece. Of course, sometime down the line, a hefty price tag for the DLC crown might tempt them as the lucrative nature of the game starts to dwindle... hopefully not.

I think it's fine. If you deserve a crown, you'll get one. End of. I would like it if I could get one eventually, though. It would look great with my costume.

I think the problem is that we know many of these crown awarded creators, so it seems like everyone has one. Even so, there are only, what 30-40 people from LBPC that have crowns? That may seem high, but consider that LBPC also has a vast resource of creator talent. It's nice to see that these awesome creators are being rewarded for their levels. You can't really argue that they are undeserving.

Other DLC that is given away for special achievements is likely. The crown becoming a competition winning item. Creators get a special type of building hat Machinima gets a directors clipboard Music levels get a musical instrument etc etc... Someday...

Among us I don't think the crown is that rare anymore. Bug Blaster is the thaang now. The crown was yesterday! YOU'RE LIVING IN THE PAST ROCKO!! I still want my bow and arrow powerup so I can hunt for good looking people in hillbilly america.

Really? I've seen like...200 or more people with crowns D: Yes, i have never played with anyone that has a crown. Only heard the mysterouis rumors.... lol. I'd say they are rare. Some people may be lucky to have a few friends that have them. But for the most part the crown is what it should be and that is for people that put effort into contests and mind blowing levels.

As it was said 50 out of 500,000 have crowns, but only about 2,000 actively use forums, and it seems like crowns are rather common in forums. I have about 5 friends with crowns, they don't feel very rare. As for will mm give crown away for a trophy? I'd doubt it.

Not only that, but the shirt was designed by Unicorns! The Week 1 T-Shirt is my favourite DLC ever. Since purchase I have never used a different top (except when looking at new stuff I'd unlocked, etc.). Seriously, Week 1 T-Shirt, Pirate shorts, red Cape & brown knit skin = most epic win ever. Well, if I had the crown too, then that would be the most epic win.

What they need to do is make it so that once you have 5 crowns, you can trade them in for a costume piece called "wex skin", where you just get to gad around with wex's face on your sackperson. Who wouldn't want that, eh?
